- flumkin, on 02/29/2008, -1/+1I think journalists actually write news pieces - Drudge consolidates news stories and give you links to them, usually with a neo-con slant. While its true he does occasionally break big stories, what was the last pulitzer her won? His stories are blandly written shock pieces that are quickly forgotten once real journalists start writing real journalism on the topics.
I prefer news.google.com - it shows you how good a computer can be at doing the same job, without the political slant...or endangering members of the royal family.- cheeseysynapse, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Personally, I find that journalists who claim objectivity are insincere. And about endangering members of the royal family..............prince Harry didn't have to serve, and also, if it wasn't drudge it would have been someone else outside of the british media. It went to drudge because he is always linking to U.K. stories and is a significant traffic driver to U.K. news sites. When was the last time you read a local, medium sized newspaper? They reprint stories from the NYtimes, WA post all the time, and not just editorials. When you have someone who doesn't hide his ideological bias, it gives you context on why a story was selected. A computer has to sort all those stories...........how does it decide which ones to highlight? You don't know the filters. Bias isn't a bad thing, it is when you pretend to not have one.
