- tasine, on 07/21/2008, -3/+3Awesome! Wonder how long it will take the lsm to cover this exciting discovery? I knew it - I just knew it! I firmly believe Mars is humankind's next home base. We know that as they orbit the sun, the planet's orbit swings a tad bigger as time goes on. Eventually planet Earth should be out of the sun's range to provide life or livelihood. Where to next? Our Creator, I believe, has provided for it - has been providing for it forever. As Earth "dies", Mars comes to life....it then will be in the position Earth now holds, as far as distance from the sun is concerned. I may be way, way off base, but I've felt this for many, many years. This is one reason why I think all the tree-huggers and greeny gerbils are blowing smoke and I pay them no heed whatsoever.
- guest2117, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Painful to read.
- tasine, on 07/23/2008, -0/+0I'm sorry you feel that way. Truly. There are so many things we humans do not know. God moves in ways so mysterious that we cannot fathom it. I'm not a weirdo, I just enjoy trying to understand and figure out things, even when I know many things are impossible to understand, and sometimes my thinking is spot on and sometimes not, but at least I do think. I think it is exciting to think "outside the box" as I live my life entirely inside the box. I truly regret that my post is painful to anyone. Probably thinking "outside the box" is best done privately.

- catcher6250, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2all the humans from mars were forced to try and jump to Earth through space . many died in the process and our technology was left behind. the few that survived the space float settled and started anew?
- Kizilbash, on 07/21/2008, -1/+1No, Venus is the one with the runaway Greenhouse Effect.
- johnnick, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1No, they landed but were promptly exterminated by the Golgafrinchans from Ark II.
- skipthefrog, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2IrishJoe kind of makes a good point. If it did support life at one point in time, and it doesn't now, before we go colonizing an alien planet, we might want to look into what exactly happened to make it uninhabitable. Could be important...
- tykwondingo, on 07/21/2008, -1/+1They make any plans when their planet started warming... ?
If the planet had any intelligent life it went below ground. Wonder what we'll find when we start digging :)- dkapuchino, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Oil.

- dkapuchino, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1No, we should respect the Martian's way of life, instead of imposing our Ideals, Values, Atmosphere and Ecology on them.
- spywire, on 07/21/2008, -1/+0for a moment, while reading the article, i thought that there were proof of mustard in mars...

- kenrayd, on 07/21/2008, -3/+1This is not new; for years, it's been known that water once flowed on Mars - anyway a couple of months ago, I guaranteed that based on the Bible, no life will ever be found on Mars - still waiting (at the expense of tax payers).
- ApokalypseNow, on 07/23/2008, -0/+4Why would you base an opinion about a scientific endeavor on a book filled with over 700 errors, inconsistencies, and contradictions?
