Man who stole Surprise police chief's car, gun arrested

azcentral.com — A 2-week manhunt - Kevin M. Kern, 30, was arrested Friday after a four-hour standoff that began as a traffic stop at 28th St and McDowell Rd in Phoenix. Hughes said he "made a mental note" of a suspicious man who was watching him while he was working out, leading him to successfully identify a suspect in a photo lineup of potential culprits.
