- enkyuuji, on 06/19/2009, -3/+116Stoners. Always an hour late.
- inactive, on 06/19/2009, -3/+96The guy definitely has some stones. Now someone should outdo him by lighting up while speaking at Parliament.
- duggtodeath, on 06/19/2009, -8/+66Should have lit up at 4:20 to be immortal.
- tgrokz, on 06/20/2009, -1/+28i dont blame him. im pretty sure the only way id be able to sit through that is if i were high
- kigabit, on 06/20/2009, -4/+31Don't digg him down people, this is just a matter of respect. I wouldn't want a tobacco smoker doing this either. The premises was non-smoking, it was inside near other people, and it was just rude. Had it been a form of protest like the kid who did it during his anti-prohibition speech this would be different, but this knucklehead was just being a jerk to those around him.
- okgenius33, on 06/20/2009, -2/+19Who's up for smokin out in Congress?
All in favor... - virtualball, on 06/20/2009, -3/+20Now, is this the English Parliament or the P-Funk, cuz if it's the latter, big deal?
- solistus, on 06/20/2009, -0/+16According to TFA it wasn't a protest. I find that kind of hard to believe; he _chose_ to show up to Parliament as his joint smoking venue. Either it was meant to be some form of symbolic protest and TFA is just wrong, or the guy's a complete moron.
- cambob76, on 06/20/2009, -4/+20I don't think smoking anything in a no-smoking area is the right idea. I'm for legalization, but smoke it outside, you're just gonna piss people off.
- Nydendarin, on 06/20/2009, -12/+28Smoke all the pot you want, just don't do it somewhere that you'll get me high when I don't want to be.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -5/+17This guy should have taken it outside. Isn't there a no smoking in governmental buildings law in NZ? There is here in the US.
- TheNyquilKid, on 06/19/2009, -9/+20Stories like this tell me that change is coming because people have the balls to do this knowing the reaction won't be that bad and that public opinion will be generally positive.
I hate when people use the Rosa Parks comparison, but maybe a little bit. - WakeRider, on 06/20/2009, -0/+10It happened in the New Zealand Parliament in Wellington. It would be the equivalent of a stoner lighting up in the public gallery of the U.S Capitol Building in the United States.
- AxsToro, on 06/20/2009, -2/+12Then your friends were sold ***** weed mixed in with oregano. Get some good dank, and you'll get the contact high.
- Neoanarchist, on 06/20/2009, -3/+13Your friends smoke ***** weed if you've never had a contact buzz. It is certainly not mythical lol...
- dienaked, on 06/20/2009, -0/+9@Theoxenmooving-Which is why pyrolysis is included in the definition with an "OR" in between it and combustion.
Pyrolysis is the chemical decomposition of a condensed substance by heating.
Who the hell is digging you up? - LordByr0n, on 06/20/2009, -1/+9Maybe not combustion but it undergoes pyrolysis and that fits in the above definition of smoke!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrolysis - ivaldes047, on 06/20/2009, -2/+10just for your knowledge, when you exhale of a vap you still blow out smoke
- s0krat3z, on 06/20/2009, -2/+10You're in digg world now.
- zigardne, on 06/20/2009, -0/+8you first man
- saucercrab, on 06/20/2009, -2/+9"'scuse me 'scuse me, man with big balls comin' through!"
- TheNyquilKid, on 06/20/2009, -0/+7Ya i regret even saying that, but someone was bound to if the past is any indication.
My favorite quote on that subject:
From "Sports Night"
Dan has been ordered by the network to make an on-air apology to viewers because he said in a magazine interview that he supports the legalization of marijuana. He stands by his opinion and balks at apologizing. His boss Isaac agrees, but tells him to do it anyway "because it's television and this is how it's done." Dan replies, "Yeah, well sitting in the back of the bus was how it was done until a 42-year-old lady moved up front." A few minutes later Isaac looks Dan in the eye and tells him,
"Because I love you I can say this. No rich young white guy has ever gotten anywhere with me comparing himself to Rosa Parks." - inactive, on 06/20/2009, -0/+7I fart in your general direction!
- Deleted4disnFed, on 06/20/2009, -0/+7Yes, it's almost like I created a new account. It's hard to comprehend. Let me try to explain it to you.
- etx313, on 06/20/2009, -4/+10Balls. He's got em.
- AboveandBeyond, on 06/20/2009, -0/+6He came for the joint session.
- maz2331, on 06/20/2009, -1/+7If he'd lit up a Marlboro, he would have been shot as a terrorist.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -1/+6New Zealand is a pretty "Pro Pot" place. Ive been caught by the Police smoking before and all the told me to do was put it out and do it somewhere else. New Zealand is apparently the Pot Smoking Capital of the world, per capita.
- upnortherik, on 06/20/2009, -0/+5Most people call it vapor, but I guess by technicalities you are correct. However, if you are blowing out anything thick and smokey looking, your vaporizer is turned way too high and you might as well just use a lighter.
- farboo, on 06/20/2009, -2/+7Should have been one of these:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1d/PARL ... - Coinspinner, on 06/20/2009, -0/+4They don't think it was a protest?!
He probably wasn't just out to get arrested, he was making a statement.
Way to totally miss the point! - inactive, on 06/20/2009, -1/+4"Briefly lit up a joint before being nabbed by security"
OH yeah he's lighting a joint, CALL SECURITY! DANGER DANGER! Terrorirstsrs
***** idiots. We live in a world of pathetic morons - Lorddias, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3I Lol'd at his name..
- gigasquid, on 06/20/2009, -1/+4One can but hope the eunuch parliamentarians in NZ, Bill Anderton, Peter Dunne and the other crowd-pleaser fence sitters would get a life and drop off the wire with their childish stance on cannabis. The head of the NZ Medical Council is not far behind, with her holier-than-thou angst-driven refusal to acknowledge any fact-based research other than her own and her covert protection of Big Pharma.
- novivo, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3dugg for "cannabis" instead of marijuana
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -2/+5I wonder why this wasn't mentioned in the Herald or the other major papers...
- Dumbwin, on 06/20/2009, -14/+17Moron.
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3Yeah, that must've been the only reason.
Lets see : The Federal Reserve is a bunch of crooks fighting against transparency because they know that they will get in deep ***** if they allow is.
I base this opinion on an article posted and frontpaged on Digg here : http://digg.com/d1tS20 (yes, diggbar, yadi yada)
Now lets see how long it is before I get banned. - rl41, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3Actually that might make it even worse. Fast food orders take FOREVER, I can only imagine how bad Parliament would be...
- XkenX87, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3cause lobbyists for prison, such as the companies that own prisons make monies (moneys) from prisoners.
http://www.texasprisonbidness.org/top-private-pris ...
look at the numbers - illt, on 06/20/2009, -1/+3i think you missed the joke. the part where it was english or NZ parliament was irrelavent.
p-funk allstars ftw. - ichbinladen, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2Crazy kiwi. Can't fault his message though.
- skinny01, on 06/20/2009, -1/+3I haven't looked yet but please don't be a black guy, please!!!
- Kakumeikeahi, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2I can respect that.
- N00F, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2This!
- Coinspinner, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2So true. Either he's mentally unstable, or it was a protest.
I'll guess the latter. - steelreserve211, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2George Clinton said "Let your mind be free and your ass will follow." P-funk forever!
- inactive, on 06/20/2009, -1/+3Don't know why virtualball is getting buried. Even though marijuana should be legal, comparing it to the civil rights movement of african americans is absurd to say the least.
- slashdotordigg, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2correction:
"men had been lighting up cannabis joint in parliament for generations" - SuicideMouse, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2Well it might technically be under that definition but somehow places like http://www.vaporcentral.com/Location.html are open in Toronto and I believe, legality of weed aside, this is alright because they are vaporizing not smoking.
