- inactive, on 05/30/2009, -20/+134***** prick. Someone should cut off his dick in prison and force him to eat it. I had a g.f. who pulled similar ***** on me. She lied about her having an STD (herpes) for months, and finally told me one day. I was like, "You ***** bitch". Luckily, I never tested positive. After that experience, I think anyone with a lifelong, potentially dangerous STD should be branded like cattle: HIV, HepB and C, HPV16,18, etc...
- thewonster, on 05/30/2009, -11/+57you know what, just execute him
- inactive, on 05/30/2009, -2/+38The sentence should give Philippe Padieu plenty of time to spread AIDS behind bars.
- MrInfallible, on 05/31/2009, -3/+33You relise that branding people with chronic STD's will lead to less people getting tested and more infections overall. And would probally lead to people using underground methods to be tested.
- u8eR, on 05/30/2009, -2/+28That's ***** up..
- anonymousmedic, on 05/30/2009, -4/+29And the justice system works. I hope the first victim that he infected that dies gets him charged with Murder.
The sad thing is, we as taxpayers will now have to pay for everything, including his HAART regiment. They should just cut him off, and put him in a damp cell. - hotshotveggie, on 05/31/2009, -1/+24Lyle... I'm onto you and your very strange digg persona you've spent a day messing with.
It's a bit much, but I have to admit it's original :) - inactive, on 05/31/2009, -1/+24They are looking into cases of people intentionally spreading AIDS/HIV and there seems to be several general reasons for people doing it.
1) the infected person is in denial and because they aren't sick, don't genuinely believe anything is wrong with them.
2) anger- someone gave it to them, now they're going to spread the love
3) mental defect- the person doesn't have the mental capacity to understand HIV/AIDS
4) Revenge- They hate you so they give it to your sister
5) the infected person refuses to give up unprotected sex. - inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+23Woman had unprotected sex with this creep?

I guess I'm doing it all wrong. - inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+20Yeah, but if somebody rapes him it sort of serves them both right.
- JulyZerg, on 05/31/2009, -3/+22Yes, it's so unfair when someone passes on a genetic disease to their gfs/bfs because they 'forgot to mention it'.
If I had a disease that could be passed onto a child of mine, I would adopt just in case. - drGt1987, on 05/30/2009, -3/+21Well it seems that now you don't judge Iranian punishment system... they have very sharp answer for sick people like this one is... I don't know which part of his body they could cut but his and similar sickness pretty deserves that
- fasda, on 05/31/2009, -0/+18he already is dying slowly
- scarth, on 05/31/2009, -2/+19thank you for being a voice of reason.
- Airbear007, on 05/31/2009, -2/+18Who the hell are you Hitler?
- oldhabit, on 05/31/2009, -2/+18Just because AIDS wasn't officially identified until 1981 doesn't mean that it didn't exist before then. Journals published in Nature magazine have put the mutation from SIVS to HIVS in the past century, which essentially allows it to be put into circulation of the global human population well before 1981.
- orvl, on 05/31/2009, -1/+16MIRROR: http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:http%3A%2F%2F ...
- itlnstln, on 05/31/2009, -1/+14The irony is that he'll spread it twice as fast in prison.
- KingGorilla, on 05/31/2009, -1/+14Herpes is nothing compared to HIV
- lfroker, on 05/31/2009, -2/+15Philippe Padieu, 53, was convicted this week of six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (takes off sunglasses) his bodily fluids.
YEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH - anonymousmedic, on 05/31/2009, -0/+12The thing with AIDS is that each person has a relatively unique strain, and it mutates with successive generations, in laymans terms - Patient Zero for that originating strain will always produce a somewhat unique viral DNA in the HIV family. As such, it's easy to trace strains back to patient zero via DNA analaysis, if the original patient which exposed the others is known.
It's also part of the reason why this bugger is so damn hard to develop a vaccine for. - SystemicThought, on 05/31/2009, -2/+14Does anyone understand the science behind using DNA to determine "direction of transmission?" That's really impressive forensics.
Also, though the man surely shouldn't have consented to sex without a condom, knowing his condition, the women shouldn't have either. Outside of a prolonged, trusting, monogamous relationship in which sexual histories are openly discussed, condoms should always be used. It's just common sense. - Portside, on 05/31/2009, -0/+12Is that Snape?
- KathDela, on 05/31/2009, -1/+12Also, the people who were ***** over by the people intentionally spreading it would have to be branded, and we all know that hardly anyone would treat them the same.
- noctu, on 05/31/2009, -0/+11your angle is false the law clearly states that if you are HIV+ you must disclose your status before having sex with them.
granted the women should have been practicing safe sex and were ignorant but that doesn't excuse the man for what he knowingly did. - itlnstln, on 05/31/2009, -0/+10Oh Horatio, is there no place where your one liners aren't appropriate?
- draculthemad, on 05/31/2009, -0/+10Except that's not it. He didn't take any precautions and intentionally infected them via unprotected sex.
- pandawa, on 05/30/2009, -6/+16they'd have to wear gloves on this one.
- phoenix2330, on 05/30/2009, -2/+12i'm not even going to digg that it's so disgraceful. what an ***** just because he was stupid and got it, doesn't mean he has to punish others for his stupid mistakes. WHAT A DICK!!!
- charlie6969, on 05/31/2009, -0/+9I think you missed the point. I understand what you mean about not getting tested, but no one is spreading the message that having HIV makes you a criminal. Knowingly passing it on when you know you have it is the only part that makes him a criminal.
- hhcash, on 05/31/2009, -0/+9this guy deserves it, knowingly spreading terminal diesease should have the same sentence as attempted murder.

That was quick - floridiot2, on 05/31/2009, -1/+10That's ***** up beyond belief for someone to get raped in prison and then find out they have HIV.
- verynegative, on 05/31/2009, -1/+9KILL HIM WITH FIRE!!!
- jmcneilly, on 05/31/2009, -8/+16AIDS? In Vietnam? As in the war? Uh, check your timeline of AIDS appearance before you try and make up a ***** story.
- TheVexedSoul, on 05/31/2009, -1/+9dishonorable discharge
- Lonandubh, on 05/31/2009, -0/+7So, in the story of King Midas, was it his daughter's responsibility to not touch him? Is it an innocent bystander's fault they got hit by a bullet from a gang fight that sprung up around them?
Yes, the women were stupid. Stupidity is not criminal. Willfully endangering another person is. I hope rots in prison. - jgzman, on 05/31/2009, -1/+8So, would you likewise suggest that shooting a guy isn't so bad, considering that we can repair it?
How about Rabies? We can usually treat that, if we catch it quick. Can I inject you with some?
Hell, the common cold won't even kill you. Can I cough on your food? - shrudheuie, on 05/31/2009, -0/+7Good. He can die in prison like the sick ***** that he is.
- anonymousmedic, on 05/31/2009, -1/+8Actually, it's very easy to link carriers to the people they infected when dealing with AIDS. it's one of the few viruses we can do that with. It's not a simple HIV quicktest. They actually sequence the DNA of the viral load in that person, and compare it with the suspected victims. HIV strains have a suprisingly unique DNA when compaired with other carriers.
- anonymousmedic, on 05/31/2009, -0/+7You totally missed the issue. This isn't about criminilizing HIV, it's about punishing a man who used it as a weapon. He knowingly infected others with HIV after being told he had it, and didn't inform his partners so they could make a choice to use protection.
Thus, he gave them an eventual death sentence. - SoonerRoadie, on 05/31/2009, -2/+9Seems like the operative phrase in your comment is "all my ex-girlfriends."
- halo969, on 05/31/2009, -0/+7I'm glad you replied, because my reply wouldn't have been as eloquent. I would have wrote, "I know they can trace it back to the guy because I saw them do it on Forensic Files".
- athrasher, on 05/31/2009, -0/+6It isn't a crime to get AIDS, but intentionally spreading it is. I don't think this is going to affect the rates at which people get tested because most people would stop having unprotected sex if they found out they had AIDS.
