- DesertDad, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1So His Honor the Mayor is troubled because his sanctuary for illegals policy has left the Department of Homeland Security no choice but to go it alone and conduct sweeps in an effort to fight the gangs which also worry the Mayor. As a taxpayer rather than a tax consumer, I have a suggestion for the U.S.
Until the city of angels embraces and protects lawful citizens by abandoning the cowardly and despicable sanctuary for illegals policy, the U.S. Dept of Treasury should withhold disbursing any Federal funds to said city of angels. Let's see, in transportation funds alone that is nearly $4 Billion dollars a year. That's $4,000,000,000. DHS could use that money to slow down the illegals, pun intended. And that doesn't even begin to touch the education and medical services, which funds could go toward teaching the illegals they are not welcome when they break the law as their first act of entering the country. And the medical funds could go toward the broken hearts of the employers as their businesses are confiscated and auctioned off to law-abiding business owners. You know, the law-abiding ones who do not believe in maintaining a subclass of non-citizens in order to reap illegal (funny how that keeps coming up) gains from low wages paid, off the books in order to avoid taxes, medical insurance, workers compensation and all.
Mayor Villaraigosa, you should be ashamed for what you are abetting. You are making people chattel, and you are ruining the lives not only of them, but of the citizens whose lives are threatened by violent illegals, whose identities are stolen by non-violent illegals, and whose jobs are debased by the second-class economy you are maintaining. As the article says, you cannot have it both ways. As Our Lord says, you cannot serve two masters.
