Digg Townhall Tonight!
Tune into the live Digg townhall tonight at 5:00pm PST/8:00pm EST.
Live blog from an Israeli bunker
israelibunker.blogspot.com — A live blog from an Israeli bunker via laptop and wifi. Provides a unique and unprecedented insight into the rapidly escalating situation in the middle east. Experience the events thru the eyes of an Israeli in a bunker, and perhaps get an idea of how it's really like over there. This is much more human and accurate then the major news channels.

- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I think a webcam would be boss.
- haker0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2im sure many of us would like to provide more video from the ground but right now most of us people that have nothing to do with the situation on both sides are in bunkers powered by generators and connected to the internet by dialup that goes in and out with the phone system or by satellite links.
- jarcoal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1great idea, i'll definitely keep tabs on this
- haker0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5this is some video i managed to get from my hotel room in Lebanon as two Israeli helicopters take out the radar at the military base. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-BC4T-12Us
- bwd01, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5We need more blogs and footage from Lebanon, not Israel. That is where the real tragedy is taking place. While these Israelis are in their bunkers, civilians are dying in Beirut.
- flowaus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Perhaps the blogger can add a civilian body count in Lebanon? Earlier today it was 196 from a total of 200 people killed. 4 non-civilians killed by Israel.
We really should evacuate both counties of people who agree to peace and leave the rest of the idots to fight it out to the last man. Preferalbly they will all eliminate themselves.- jj5008, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Perhaps the only idiots involved in this situation represent only one organization. I would be very cautious of all "civilian dead" reports from Hezbollah. Civilian casualties are a tragedy, no question. But the IDF seems to be operating in a very surgical manner. They are forced to fight an enemy that uses the cover of civilians as they attack a peaceful country.
Believe what you want to believe...I suspect you and others like you will have your opinions regardless of the realities and the history of the conflict. But don't forget...Israel was attacked on their sovereign land. They did not provoke this conflict. The idea that some in the media would have you believe is that there is some sort of moral equivelent to swapping the kidnapped soldiers for 1,000 prisoners. 1,000 people who are in prison for a reason. They were not "kidnapped". They were "captured" either plotting or acting on efforts to kill Israeli civilians. - syberghost, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Perhaps you should watch the video on that blog interviewing several former terrorists. Your evacuation of "people who agree to peace" would be a minority of the citizens, who could have chosen to leave long ago.

- MurdernMarvin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Just like the Britons in WWII -- Israeli move into their shelters and life goes on-- I pray for the safety of the Israelis and other innocents caught in this fight.
- yishaiyosef, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Stay safe, Eugene. We are praying for you and all of Israel.
