Liberal Brit vicar fawns over America's liberal religionists
guardian.co.uk — This liberal British vicar hates America's conservative evangelicals but is in love with America's liberal religionists, who he claims are leading the charge in a new (liberal) Reformation.

What I would really appreciate is if a liberal could please explain to me on what basis he believes in Jesus at all if he doesn't believe the Bible. This strikes me as very confused thinking on the part of the liberal. Is he just believing in Christ on the basis of his own emotions made up in his own mind and nothing else? Doesn't he realize that if the Bible doesn't stand, then neither does his faith in Christ? The Bible they don't believe in nevertheless warns about them: "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths." (II Timothy 4:3-4). Go here to read a rebuttal to the kind of thinking exhibited in this article: http://www.onenewsnow.com/Perspectives/Default.asp ...

He is yet another example, like Tony Campolo, Rick Warren, Hybels and the rest of those false teachers who are so blinded by the god of this world that they don't realize that they haven't overcome the world - the world has overcome them. The remnant of believers who remain in the US and around the world will be forced underground or else die the death of martyrs; the mega-church buildings will be filled to over-flowing with "the elect" who have been deceived. That's after they have done the world a favor by "delivering up" those who truly know Christ as their Savior and Lord - just as the Bible has said.

{In case you can't access the above site, go to Huffington Post and enter "Red Letter Christians" in the search box, upper right.}- Nannybell, on 02/19/2008, -0/+2I read that article too. Very distressing, because it is only partial truth. Sounds good on the surface, "I only follow the words of Christ." But the words of Christ are also found in Romans through Revelation, as spoken through His apostles (who learned from Him) and those who learned from His apostles. I read one person's comment on that article urging people to engage in the heresy of rejecting all of the New Testament except the gospels. We are truly in an age of multiplying heresies.
