Largest Order Ever of Rolls Royce Phantoms Delivered (Pics)
autoblog.com — "The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong has been shuttling guests to and from the airport and around town in Rolls-Royce automobiles since 1970, when it took delivery of a then-record seven Silver Shadows. Today, the Peninsula outdid itself, taking delivery of fourteen long-wheelbase Phantoms built to custom specifications through RR's Bespoke program."

James -Now, get on to License Bureau and trace that car. AU a green Rolls.
Goodnight -A green Rolls?
James -A green Rolls Royce. There can't be that many in Hong Kong.
Goodnight -Courtesy cars. All green Rolls Royce belong to the Peninsula Hotel.
James -You see what a two-year posting to Staff intelligence does for a girl?
Goodnight -James, it's wonderful to see you.- monkeyrun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11nice tibit

- astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Sultan - Rolls-Royce Phantom two. 4.3 litre, 30 horsepower, six cylinder engine, with Stromberg downdraft carburetor, can go from zero to 100 kilometres an hour in 12.5 seconds. And I even like the color.
-Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade - retawd, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2A real quick way to finding out if you're intelligent or just a much good memorising monkey is the abilitie to overlook common talking mistkes and follow the mane point. All other stuff is only projecting insecurity and admitting you cannt make life go your'e way so you must pick on non-native Inglsih talkers.
- slowmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"4.3 litre, 30 horsepower, six cylinder engine"
My motorcycle is an 0.5 litre, 60 horsepower, two cylinder engine.
You do the math.
Hurray for progress!
- Boulevard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Why do you need privacy screens and used towel storage in the doors? Oh, never mind.
- EndlessRain, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15So some cute Asian chicks will ruv u rong time?
- chazzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6HK is hot and very humid. It's standard for hotel courtesy cars in many East Asian cities to pick you up from the airport, and immediately offer you a moist, neatly-rolled face towel from a cooler so you can wipe your face before the air conditioning fully kicks in.
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Ive been there , classy.

- DCJoeDog, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1I hate when the super rich flaunt the fact that they are super rich, and this also applies to businesses too
- mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2What? Because they have money and use it? Maybe you are just jealous that you can't afford a $350,000 car. I can't. I know I can't. Of course, I'm only 18. But rather than bickering about how the super rich buy cars that cost more than the average house, I look to how I can make that money for myself and one day afford such luxuries.
And as for this particular deal, its more a marketing thing than anything else. If youre getting into a cab or hotel van that will take you to your hotel, and you see someone getting picked up in a Phantom, with "Peninsula Honk Kong" branding on it, whose hotel are you going to next time?

- onassar, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0ya, i heard about that dreamheap site a couple weeks back, pretty descent, i got so many pics and vids up for my cars.. none of the phantom yet though :(
- brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What The ***** is going on? You joined on "December 14, 2006"... seems suspicious... and the first comment you post is: "ya, i heard about that dreamheap site a couple weeks back, pretty descent..."
I'm going out on a limb here - are you trying to promote this "dreamheap" site? It's actually got nothing to do with the original article...

- GabrielS, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Are these for the Sultan of Brunei? I hear he's a real RR fanboyalty. I think the dude already owns like 200 Rolls'.
- ohamoodi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0too many realists and pramatists ....
first know what you want in life... then figure out how to get it! - hswwashington, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Get this. Hong Kong has the highest density of Rolls Royce (no.of RR/total population) in the entire world, and the city's total population is over 7 million.
- retawd, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1.......
- sshack, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Rollers are breathtakingly beautiful cars. I've driven john lenons rolls royce (my mechanic maintains it.) As soon as I get the chance I'll be buying a phantom or bentley and keeping
it forever.
It's too bad the rappers spoil the image though. - danjeeva, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone care to make an educated guess on how much they ended up paying for all these cars?
- Chadster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, it is cheaper to buy in bulk.
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"The cars are all finished to exacting standards. Some 18 leather hides for each Phantom were used to trim the seats, doors and roof-lining, and in a process unique to Rolls-Royce, each hide is tumble-dyed, resulting in a natural finish that is sumptuously soft and requires no protective top coat."
Don't tell PETA. - Homerr, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1"Bespoke specifications:"
wtf?- sshack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4bespoke means "custom made" to the prolerates. But it actually means a little more
than that. "bespoke" itself means be spoken for. As in a suit cloth is said to be spoken for.
In a car like the rollers case, it also means the seats will be custom made for the owners. If it's to be exlusively driven by a larger man it'll get larger seats - sized to the owner. Same with a smaller person - smaller seats.
Almost any other change can be
made also. Don't like the wood on the door cappings? Change it. Want a fresco
painting on the headlining? Done.
In short, they didn't just select some options off of a mercedes dealers brochure, they said "we want you to make this. and this. and here's one of my grandmothers 100 year
old pieces of china, copy that pattern on the trim please".
- sshack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4bespoke means "custom made" to the prolerates. But it actually means a little more
- andydumi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2At only about 450 a night, we could all get a ride in one of these. Or two rides, to and from the airport. 45 minutes each way to the International Airport.
- soFAKE, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0This is obviously fake. They stopped making those cars 12 years ago.
- Furg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Too bad you have no idea what you're talking about...
- xxdabroxx, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0it looks like renderings to me.
- bravecoward, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2DAMMIT
