- Callidus, on 03/31/2009, -4/+75One of the few politicians with balls.
- BrianCrosbie, on 03/31/2009, -4/+56Kucinich is so ***** rad. I can't believe he submitted over 35 articles to the senate for the impeachment of Bush... twice.
Homeboy does not ***** around when it comes to doing the right thing. - analogkid01, on 03/31/2009, -0/+29See, things like this are why I was against the bailouts from the beginning...we couldn't trust these companies with our money before, what makes us think we can trust them now?
- beatitlikeacop, on 03/31/2009, -1/+30They own us, these task-masters of ours; they own our homes, they own our legislatures. We cannot escape from them. There is no redress. We are told we can defeat them by the ballot-box. They own the ballot-box. We are told that we must look to the courts for redress; they own the courts. We know them for what they are – ruffians in politics, ruffians in finance, ruffians in law, ruffians in trade, bribers, swindlers, and tricksters…
They swindle a nation of a hundred million and call it Financiering; they levy a blackmail and call it Commerce; they corrupt a legislature and call it Politics; they bribe a judge and call it Law; they hire blacklegs to carry out their plans and call it Organization; they prostitute the honor of a State and call it Competition. - Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 03/31/2009, -4/+30I loved how the family guy episode "North by North Quahog" has a "kucinich 04" bumper sticker on bryan's car.
That being said,
Kucinich '12. - diskoh, on 03/31/2009, -4/+26I love that man.
- ChristPissed, on 03/30/2009, -2/+24In the good old days tar and feathers would be liberally applied to these corporate welfare queens and their enablers.
- j.carcinogen, on 03/31/2009, -1/+18Being a libertarian, I definitely don't agree with him %100, but a great man that also respects civil liberties and the Constitution.
- askantik, on 03/31/2009, -0/+16It's too bad Obama didn't offer this guy a cabinet position. Kucinich's Department of Peace made it into the top 10 on Obama's change.gov, but the fact that he will "seriously consider" the top ten ideas from that site isn't really all that promising. Indeed, it's pretty much an empty statement and makes you realize that it's basically just a show. I mean, not trying to be all negative or whatever, I'd be happy for someone to prove me wrong right now-- I just don't have my hopes up.
- dalittle, on 03/31/2009, -0/+13Also need to go after Goldman Sachs who laundered their TARP money through AIG
- Misinformant, on 03/31/2009, -2/+15Barack was my 2nd choice after Dennis.
Kucinich should chair the ethics committee. - copypastry, on 03/31/2009, -1/+14Go get em Dennis.
These ***** are squeezing America dry. - SpookyBoots, on 03/31/2009, -2/+13WHEN WILL HE GET SOME RESPECT?
- copypastry, on 03/31/2009, -1/+12Automatic digg for referring to a white elf-like politician as "homeboy"
And dugg cause you're right too. - jayjayjoni, on 03/31/2009, -12/+22I want more socialist-esque politicians like Kucinich. People like him is what will bring this country out of the recession, not the anti-American unpatriotic GOP.
- Unreal030, on 03/31/2009, -0/+9completely missed the point.... (didn't digg you down though)
- Bluesky0010, on 03/31/2009, -0/+9It was all in the contract. The gov't leaders from Connecticut took the provision out of the bill that would have prevented these bonuses (one of which got a lot of "money" from AIG btw at some points in his political career). It was a contract that the Congress made with these businesses. If they were so concerned about this, they should have said something back then. This is hypocrisy at it finest. Contracts are made to be observed. Gov't has no exception to this.
I don't support these bonuses, but I fully understand that the gov't was the one which allowed them to happen. - viker7, on 03/31/2009, -1/+9We need more people in congress like Kucinich and Ron Paul, who support the Constitution above everything else. I applaud both of them for having such a great impact. When will people realize that voting for congressmen is just as important than voting for the president?
- mah2cent, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8One of the unintended consequences of the bailout is that it made it possible for these failing companies to pay bonuses. If there had been no bailouts there would not have been the bonuses. This is still another reason for NO BAILOUTS!. The main reason is it is just plain wrong to give money to companies under any circumstance. The government should just stop all intervention.
- ferrisnox, on 03/31/2009, -1/+9Probe them DEEP & HARD.
- unknamed, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8If this is as it sounds then, really, people need to be going to jail. I mean, really.
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -0/+7Dennis, I still have the pocket constitution you personally signed. I will never forget what our forefathers battled for and their lessons. Thank you for all your courage and hard work.
- diggduggjoe, on 03/31/2009, -1/+8It is not a matter of trust. Since our government has a history of bailing out corporate *****, we promote failure.
How would any of these companies operate, knowing they would not be bailed out and saved. Likely, they would have been wiser.
Corporate welfare just screws up America. - kangarupe, on 03/31/2009, -1/+7Wow, Digg praising Kucinich? Maybe Vegans CAN get some respect on this website.
- viker7, on 03/31/2009, -0/+6They = Bilderberg Group, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, the Fed.
- viker7, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5We only need to go after the Fed, who gave away all that money in the first place.
- Barackalypse, on 03/31/2009, -4/+9Lesson: The Government is not an investment vehicle, it should not be giving public money to private companies unless it is purchasing equipment or services.
- PopcornDave, on 03/31/2009, -1/+6But it never goes anywhere. He's the Sisyphus of the House.
- JordanTW90, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5This doesn't happen if you don't give them the money in the first place.
- askantik, on 03/31/2009, -1/+5Way to ruin it-- now that you've let Digg know Kucinich is a vegan, this will immediately get 100 buries...
:) - digthis13, on 03/31/2009, -0/+4I think a rope and latter would do better.
- deathandtaverns, on 03/31/2009, -0/+4Ugh don't remind me, I'm still mad at Russert for that question during the debate. Would he have asked Reagan or Carter that even though they claimed to have seen UFOs as well?
He tried to make a man with good ideas for America, or at least ideas worth talking about into the crazy funny looking guy with the hot wife. rage - TheManikin, on 03/31/2009, -1/+4Ha! Go ***** yourself, I see more related information at
*****.com - j.carcinogen, on 03/31/2009, -1/+4A Kucinich - Obama 'inner-party/Congressional-Executive bridge' debate would be nice.
*CNN queues UFO stories* - 3nder99, on 03/31/2009, -1/+4The problem with those articles was that almost every single one had been approved by Congress, meaning he couldn't actually use it to impeach Bush. When it turned out they were going to have an actual discussion on impeachment, he suddenly dropped all but one of them. Turns out that when you are trying a court case you have to deal in facts and not propaganda.
Maybe he should have introduced 34 articles of impeachment for Congress, and 1 for Bush. - GeorgeTirebiter, on 03/31/2009, -3/+6I'm glad my tax dollars are being used for a constitutional purpose. Can I donate more?
- rollin03, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3IT's funny - you can't analyze this situation bailout bonus by bonus. Unless the principle is fixed, in essence not allowing a bailout in the first place, Kucinich can knock himself out chasing bonus packages all over government fed corporations.
- dannykeene, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2well if he were only taken seriosly...
- veloscaper, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2How about some variant of a SAW movie, you know to keep up with modern times.
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -1/+3okay, question though - the money that the gov. gave this company... Is it a loan? Or a flat-out handout? Does the money get returned at all?
- jaymzdean, on 03/31/2009, -1/+3What about the derivatives, Dennis?
- PopcornDave, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2If it's a loan can't they do whatever the ***** they want with it? If it's not a loan, then the government has every right to control how it's used.
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2That's what I'm asking actually. I'm Canadian, and I do'nt pay attention to any news really. if it's a loan, i totally don't care what they do with it.
if it's a government handout though, I don't understand why the people would tolerate this. - PopcornDave, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2Rope and feathers?
- P5ycHo, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2Heads need to roll......
- morningmatters, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2The investment bankers need $$$ to ease their coke habits so they can stay awake working 100 hours a week (to ripp people off).
3.6B is actually not that much by wall street standards. Lehman Brothers paid out 9.5 Billion in bonuses at the end of 2007 and promptly went belly up 9 months later. - PopcornDave, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2Well what the hell do you actually expect from those who purport to be reporters? The media seemed to be more concerned with the length or lack of Britney's vaginal pubic covering than actually doing any reporting.
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2You mean he saw something and could not tell you what it was? That is terrible, What is wrong with him!
- Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Yes. Because that crime is much more heinous than laundering billions in taxpayer's money and infringing upon constitutional civil liberties and human rights. You're a troll.
