This couldn't possibly effect oil prices, its not like Iran exports 100% percent of the gasoline it produces. Its not like this could weaken our military by overextending it, its not like this could cause even more lengthy tours of duty for our tired and worn out soldiers. This seems like more sparkling brilliance from the well thought out playbook of George W. Bush and company. Remember how they jumped in and rebuilt New Orleans after that little wind storm, I bet George is drinking a Mint Julep on Trent Lott's porch right now, remember he said "Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house--he's lost his entire house," cracked Bush, "there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch."

    Trent Lott's front porch sipping a mint julep, what better perch to view Armageddon and press the red button? Lurching from disaster to disaster like a wounded bull with TNT around its neck, that's our president, waiting to destroy our nation and whatever portions of the rest of the world he can manage. Thanks for the bubble economy, the wars, the lies, the destruction of the Republican party, the destruction of the middle class, and the destruction of America's values and image abroad. He made water-boarding a household word, and now he wants to bring his wholesome value to Iran at the tip of a bomb. Can the world really stand so much democracy so suddenly?

The next president will say that they are cleaning up bush's mess, but they will just go along the same track. The last two elections were rigged for a reason.

This is the worst possible outcome for their so-called lives, even if it means living on beans and watching their own country crumble; at least they can claim that they weren't "a pussy" and "kicked some ass," even if it was eventually their own.

      It's quite easy to play on this mindset, and those in charge of waging these wars know it.

  • Scottievm, on 04/26/2008, -0/+3Don't they have a military contingency plan for a war with every country? I would hope so. I think war with Iran would be the beginning of the end of America, but I'd still hope that our military would be prepared for whatever may happen, whether its Iran or some other country.
  • DaDrake, on 04/26/2008, -0/+2There is this great book I read 3-4 years ago that detail how the Military prepares for war. Literally, the military constantly updates invasion and evacuation plans for every single country and region. What made the book worthwhile was all the military strategies that were actually submitted, out of boredom, during the cold war. One was the invasion of Walt Disney World.

    But yea.... if the military wasn't prepping military options for a country, especially like Iran, I would be more worried. Afterall, its their job.
