Jewish guerrillas told British: quit Palestine or die
timesonline.co.uk — Bombings and murders by underground groups, such as Begin ’s Irgun, hastened the British withdrawal and the United Nations declaration that led to the founding of modern Israel.

- Conspiracy20, on 07/19/2008, -5/+25Begin’s Irgun set aside its differences with Haganah, a rival underground Jewish group led by David Ben Gurion – the first Prime Minister of Israel, who once likened Begin to Adolf Hitler.
- flogistan, on 07/19/2008, -9/+2I just thank goodness Ben Gurion won out in the end and saved the Israeli nuclear program from those who threatened it.
- beatles901, on 07/19/2008, -5/+9Ya, funny how JFK was the lead investigator into that nuclear program and subsequently got a magic bullet to the head.
- FrankHope, on 07/19/2008, -1/+6Um, did you forget to add "/sarcasm" to the end of that comment?
- flogistan, on 07/19/2008, -9/+2I just thank goodness Ben Gurion won out in the end and saved the Israeli nuclear program from those who threatened it.
- flogistan, on 07/19/2008, -8/+5Guerillas? Come on conspiricy20. Are you sure you're not one of them? The word is terrorism, and this was a perfect opportunity to use it. I'm putting you on my watch list.
- beatles901, on 07/19/2008, -4/+12They were terrorists. You can't even brand them liberators or resistance fighters like the Palestinians.
- FrankHope, on 07/19/2008, -2/+4Jesus Christ flogistan are you accusing Conspiracy20 of being part of the Israel Lobby? Well you better add me too. There's plenty of room for a spectrum of opinions as long as we all don't start attacking each other.
- flogistan, on 07/20/2008, -3/+6I was busting his balls. I know.
- FrankHope, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3OK. LOL. You had me going.
- Conspiracy20, on 07/20/2008, -2/+7flogistan, That was the name of the article. I added nothing. I agree they are terrorists. The Irguns are considered a gang as is the Stern gang that helped create Israel.
- FrankHope, on 07/19/2008, -8/+16How ironic is it that the Zionists proudly used the very word "terrorist" to describe themselves? They have never dropped their terrorist tactics although they no longer like to refer to themselves by that name. What name but "terrrorism" can be applied to the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

- tufftugg, on 07/20/2008, -3/+4 Don't you just hate when people don't want the Colonialist around?
- spongya77, on 07/20/2008, -5/+1What else do you call European immigrants, then?
- FrankHope, on 07/20/2008, -3/+3Which colonialists? The British or the Jewish?
- Fangsinmybeard, on 07/20/2008, -2/+4This sounds familiar. It seems that it is more of a tactic within a strategy, a very dubious strategy. Interesting how a few can cow so many, yet it doesn't take many to silence the few. So, it must take only one to end humanity with a blink of an eye. Who is the one with the twisted ideology that will end all humanity? Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Jew, Buddhist, Sihk, Jan or Satanist?
- HonkingAntelope, on 07/20/2008, -5/+6Doesn't change the fact that wherever the Brits have been and are now gone, the place is *****.
- monsieurginger, on 07/20/2008, -2/+6India and Israel are both technology powerhouses so I don't think they are *****.
- yonoz, on 07/20/2008, -1/+7You make it seem as if the British Mandate of Palestine was not "*****"...
- yonoz, on 07/20/2008, -1/+7Funny how digg "libertarians" rally in support of a colonialist power that saw it perfectly acceptable to execute people for such barbarous acts as breaking their comrades out of prison (without killing a single member of the prison staff) and flogging officers of an occupying force; who's prison staff told their inmates, one of whome was one of only two remaining members of a 200-strong family wiped out in Auschwitz, the other faught with the British in Europe: "the gas chambers were nothing like what awaits you in Israel"; executions that the the British prison warden refused to carry out and quit his position as a result.
It's also funny how that colonialist power stopped all such executions, all across their empire, once they found two of their own hanging from a tree.
One would think a true "libertarian" would hail these people as heroes to their cause, but then again the "libertarians" here on digg have shown their true colours many times before.
Another fact The Times neglects to mention:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sergeants_affair# ...
British troops grew sullen and angry. That night, in Tel Aviv, British soldiers on foot and in armored cars lashed out in an unsoldierly demonstration. They smashed windows, beat Jews, fired Sten guns into a crowded bus. Five Jews were killed, 15 wounded. The next day, Paice and Martin were buried in the Ramleh Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery, while at the funeral for the five dead Jews, mourners and police clashed again; 33 Jews were injured. One resident of Netanya said: "This cancels out the two sergeants."

Occupying force meets terrorist colonialists meets Palestinians. A volitile mix.
Now the colonialists are a terrorist occupying force.- yonoz, on 07/20/2008, -1/+6Funny how you awarded the "terrorist" label to only one of the three...

Which ones would you attach it to?
(a non-answer by you is an answer) - spongya77, on 07/20/2008, -4/+1He said "a" - that does not exclude other terrorists, bonehead.
- yonoz, on 07/20/2008, -1/+4@JP: I don't apply the "terrorist" label to entire nations. Mine is a vastly more nuanced view.
@spongya77: I said "three" - that means I was referring to the first line of his comment, smellypants.

I see. You use a special ink in your "terrorist" labels. It only sticks where you want it to.
Too bad you can't go back and reink the Israeli Prime Minister's pamphlet that is in question here.
Maybe you'll just have to settle for a rewrite of history.- yonoz, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3How ironic you should put words in my mouth and accuse me of rewriting history in the same comment.
Then again, you've already shown your bigotry when you labeled all Israelis as terrorists.
- yonoz, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3How ironic you should put words in my mouth and accuse me of rewriting history in the same comment.
- JagPop, on 07/20/2008, -2/+2Hey! Did the Zionists refer to Palestine as "Palestine" in the newly uncovered pamphlet?
- yonoz, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Your ignorance is showing.
- JagPop, on 07/21/2008, -5/+2Your profile is showing.
- yonoz, on 07/21/2008, -1/+3Right, my profile is showing. I bet if it said I was from Palestine you'd be cumming all over your keyboard.
- yonoz, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Your ignorance is showing.
- Lynx55, on 07/21/2008, -1/+2And the rest of the world who apparently doesn't have these 'nuanced" views slowly begins to understand why there will never be peace in the middle east. It is creating havoc and enemies across the entire world. So what does the doctor do to the origination of a disease but cut out the source? Do you all not prefer peace to nonexistance?
