- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -4/+24Jews have distinguished themselves in the American military, and I have had the privilege to know some of them. We ALL hope ( I hope we all hope ) for a day when there is not a need for a military, nor for religion.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -5/+19Racist garbage coming from racist garbage. What difference does his religion make to anyone or anything? It only matters to people 911ArtStudent and flogistan who are openly bigoted against the Jews.
- foopirata, on 06/11/2008, -10/+24Why is the religion of a US serviceman anyone's issue? Would you be 'speechless' if he were a Muslim? A Budhist?
- JohnReb, on 06/11/2008, -6/+19Jews have served honorably in the US military since the Revolution.
The General's faith is a complete non-story. - Tangaroa, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7That must be why they are complaining that a Jew, just a Jew, was appointed to a US position.
- Hortnon, on 06/11/2008, -5/+12^ idiotic nonsense
- Tangaroa, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7I'm speechless that the "mere critics of Israel" have finally dropped all pretenses and are telling everyone that it's a problem for any Jew to be appointed to government. I'm also reporting your racist ass.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 06/11/2008, -5/+11But I thought you people only hated Zionists not Jews. I don't know what to say when YellowCakeWalk is the voice of reason in a thread.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -6/+11"Gates said he felt compelled to SWEEP OUT the current Air Force leadership to halt a long-term drift in the service's focus."
I had felt before that this was a Stalinist style PURGE of the military leadership. Bush is positioning himself for a COUP. Patriotic military leaders like Admiral Fallon are being forced out. Top Air Force officials were forced out based on manufactured excuses.
Kucinich has the right idea. IMPEACH BUSH before it is too late.
Congressman Olver said that if the Democrats attempt to impeach Bush he will:
- Bomb Iran
- Declare Martial Law
- Suspend the 2008 elections.
http://digg.com/educational/Congressman_Announces_ ...
I agree he will try, but I also think there's a good chance he will do these things even without impeachment. Impeach him anyway! Stand up to tyranny. It's what the founders would have wanted. - SQLDigger, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5That one left me speechless, too.
- Tangaroa, on 06/12/2008, -0/+4He is a Jew. That is what everyone is complaining about.
- monsieurginger, on 06/11/2008, -2/+5Yafo is actually an Arab city.
- Tangaroa, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3Gates is from the old Daddy Bush team and is generally regarded as a level-headed professional. He was forced on Shrub by Jim Baker et al and he brought in Petraeus to turn the Iraq war strategy around. If anything, he is probably clearing out Shrub's yes-men. Shrub's purge of generals happened back in 2001-2002.
- monsieurginger, on 06/11/2008, -2/+5What are his politics? The last I heard, the former chief of the air force was fired because of management of the nuclear arsenal. I haven't seen what "politics" he might have except his credentials which seem good for the job.
- monsieurginger, on 06/11/2008, -3/+5I think we can all agree that after those two incidents of mismanagement of nuclear weaponry, a new chief is a good thing, especially someone not from the "fighters".
- monsieurginger, on 06/11/2008, -3/+5NO, it's just historically Arab.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -3/+5explain?
- hadees, on 06/15/2008, -0/+1Rocket99, Your lack of the actual subject material that we always talk about is to the point of absurdity. You would think something might have rubbed off.
Top IDF military potions aren't Jew exclusive, You just need loyalty to Israel.. In March a Druze became the President's military secretary. - inactive, on 06/11/2008, -10/+11People are missing the point. The point is not his religion, the point is that there is a PURGE going on of the military. The point is his politics.
- quesi, on 06/11/2008, -3/+4Segregation? Say it isn't so...
- JewishActivist, on 06/15/2008, -0/+1Not to Jews who are PROUD and who like hearing of Jews currently serving honorably in US military---especially in leadership positions such as this.
David
http://thejidf.org - inactive, on 06/11/2008, -2/+3As far as I know there are many Jews in top positions in the US military as well as that of other western nations. I expect all the captains of nuclear submarines are Jewish. Any time I have heard a name of one that has been highly likely. "They would though, wouldn't they".
- SQLDigger, on 06/12/2008, -2/+2I.e., the Jews, with a lot of bigoted anti-Jewish diatribe thrown in for good measure.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -5/+5The Amalekites? You mean the people that the Israelites bragged to have committed genocide against, and were punished by their prophet for sparing the lives of even the livestock? Whether that fable is true or not, all it indicates about the Israelites is that their thirst for blood exceeded Hitler's.
The Israelites got stomped by every culture they ever came in conflict with, but when they retreated, as they always did, they wrote self-assuaging narratives about how they butchered every last man, woman, and child with the full support of 'God.' Nice.
Being skeptical of a militant, Judeocentric organization that has excessive influence over US foreign policy and endangers the life of every American, Jewish or not, is a good thing. - livegreenordie, on 06/11/2008, -2/+2 If Donley is appointed they won't have to wait for senate confirmation~
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -4/+3Right on the money Frank.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -13/+11I'm speechless. This will go to the top of digg...the media won't cover it... and it will be forgotten tomorrow.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -9/+7911ArtStudent and flogistan are openly bigoted against Jewish nationalist war-mongers who have no respect for peace or national sovereignty, not the Jews per se. They seem quite supportive of Jewish Diggers who advocate peace and respect for human rights.
Bigoted much, yourself, Herkimer? - inactive, on 06/11/2008, -11/+9No, because neither of those groups have a self defeating and counterproductive influence in my government. Muslims, in fact, are more numerous in my country, and they have no such voice in this democracy. If I lived in Yafo, as you do, I would probably think it was great.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -13/+10Imagine if Israel had made a Muslim the chief of its air force
- acidkore, on 06/11/2008, -10/+6Say whatever nasty things you want about Israel (and I do), but the military prowess of the Jews cannot be criticized. The Amalekites? The Assyrians? The Greeks? The Egyptians? We held our own against each and every one of them. The spillover of AIPAC distrust into umbrella racist Jew hating sentiments is inappropriate and uncalled for.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -12/+3Man, saying it and making people laugh is much more powerful.
What is Digg?
