It is sort of like saying the Jews brought on the holocust or the people in New York brought on the 911 attacks. The Glory of it all is God's Word says "for, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Rom 10:13". I have lived in the dark for a very long time myself, so I can relate to the depravity of the comment "You Christians brought this on yourselves". In the end though, it only really proves Jesus is the true author of forgiveness, for He is willing to forgive this comment and so much more, if only we will repent and call on His precious name. Praise the Holy name of Jesus Christ! Amen and Amen.

  • drachemorder, on 01/09/2008, -2/+20Funny thing is, this sort of thing happens pretty much every time something like this happens to Christians. We band together and reach out to the families of the perpetrators, forgive them, accept them, welcome them, and support them in their own grief. After all, they are just as much victims as anyone else.

    What could possibly motivate people to reach out in love like this, unless it be the God who is Himself a God of love? We, after all, did the same to him --- we tortured and crucified His Son, and He still reached out to us in love. We love because He first loved us.

If I am totally honest, even as a Christian, I believe I would surely struggle with my own ability to forgive in such a situation. I could only pray that He would give me the same strength in His spirit as He had given these blessed people. Praise be to Jesus!

The true love of God always leaves people speechless. I am glad the perps folks were able to heal from this as well. How painful it must have been, and still is, to know that the son they raised did this.

Only He could have done this and provided His matchless grace to the families in this situation.God can bring glory to Himself in even the darkest, most seemingly hopeless of situations when hearts truly turn to Him. It is a truth that Christians around the world should cling to, given the world in which we live.
