Jefferson Bible reveals Founding Father's View of God
latimes.com — Making good on a promise to a friend to summarize his views on Christianity, Thomas Jefferson set to work with scissors, snipping out every miracle and inconsistency he could find in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

- Evilena, on 07/27/2008, -0/+6Quit spreading lies about Jefferson.

This article is from the LA Times. The book Jefferson made exists. It can be examined. Jefferson's letters to his friends exist. This is a reality. - ieee, on 07/27/2008, -0/+6All this means is that the U.S. wasn't and isn't officially a Christian country. That isn't news.
You people are free to practice your religion and other people are free to live according to their beliefs. If you people truly believed, deep down, in your religion......which you don't, you wouldn't be disturbed by this news or that other people don't share your beliefs. We would simply "be wrong" to you.
The fact is, since you people don't believe and WANT to believe people who think, believe and say differently are a threat to the good feelings you get from your belief.
That is why you people need to make up lies about the Founding Fathers being devout Christians, the US being a Christian country, why you need to build fake creationist museums etc etc.
It is to lend credibility to what in your heart you believe is a fiction. - Evilena, on 07/28/2008, -0/+4Anyone can quote Jefferson out of context. If these revisionists really want to impress us, lets see one of them render a 3d dinosaur running around inside the Jefferson Memorial.
