Japan's Abe says diarrhoea ruined premiership
afp.google.com — Japan's former prime minister Shinzo Abe has said he quit the post because of severe diarrhoea. "Once ulcerative colitis worsens, I would need to go to the lavatory 30 times a day. It would be absolutely impossible to perform the heavy duties of prime minister," Abe said in a magazine article.

- yellowcakewalk, on 01/13/2008, -4/+2Bush Sr, while on a visit to Japan, actually puked on the Prime Minister. Maybe the PM could come visit Bush Sr this time.
- lyziwyg, on 01/13/2008, -1/+4Why are they spelling diarrhea so weirdly?
- Commodore84, on 01/13/2008, -0/+5Ulcerative colitis is a miserable disease. Patients with it usually end up needing to have their small bowel removed. I can completely understand how having this disease would prevent him from fulfilling the duties of a PM.
- LmaoTzu, on 01/13/2008, -0/+0If he had just said "I'm resigning for personal reasons", that would have been fine too; no need for the details that way.
