Neglectful, clueless or cruel jailers in effect gave her a death sentence for traffic violations.
These staph infections are endemic inside county jails, where conditions are deplorably unsanitary.
I'm not speaking theoretically here: I got staph infection while doing a year in the Los Angeles County Jail. Deputies wouldn't let me see a doctor until my foot was swollen to twice its normal size, with blood and fluids gushing out of it. I could have been like this poor lady. - inactive, on 06/19/2008, -0/+6Can you imagine having to tell your child that his mommy died because the people at the jail wouldn't give her any medicine?
