It is a shame that somebody gets voted (and elected) with the unveiled aim to solve his own problems... - jei731, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3Freedom to commit criminal acts is a critical part of Italian government tradition. Silvio is merely doing what any respectable don would have done. Bush has the same immunity against prosecution. Of course, USA has always preferred to have corrupt people in power where ever it can. Silvio is a prime example of such a man. He got Italy to join the illegal Iraq war and watched how CIA kidnapped Italians and even killed Italian agents and tried to assassinate reporters trying to expose US war crimes in Iraq. Silvio has been US right hand man in protecting CIA in their torture and kidnapping operations. Silvio once again getting the leadership shows how media power controls public opinion. Undoubtedly Italians will continue to swindle EU subsidies at an ever increasing rate now that their elite is protected against prosecution from such crimes. Italy is truly fit to leave EU and join the African Union where their kind of governments are the norm and not the exception.
