Israeli Police arrest suspects in videotaped assault

btselem.org — The Israeli police have arrested two settlers suspected of attacking Palestinians in Khirbet Susiya. On 8 June '08, four masked settlers with clubs severely beat three members of the a-Nawaj'ah family who were grazing their flock on private Palestinian land. A fourth member filmed part of the assault with a B'Tselem camera. video x 4

    It is hopeful that the Israelis intend to prosecute the thugs. This happens at the same time that Israel and Hamas have declared a truce and that bodes well for peace, but at the same time the Israelis are preparing to bomb Iran.
    Does that mean that Israel will try to pacify the Palestinians so as not to have war at home and abroad at the same time?
    Or are these occurrences just coincidental?
    • dkapuchino, on 06/21/2008, -0/+1Israel has no Illusions whatsoever with that regard. In case of a war with Iran / Syria, there is no doubt that the Palestinians will throw away any truce or peace agreement and join them.

    • dkapuchino, on 06/21/2008, -1/+1We're here, Digging this article up, because it goes to show exactly what goes on in Israel. Both sides have their extremists. One side(Israel), Arrests their extremists and prosecutes them. The other side elects them, and throw candies at them in the streets.
