Iraqi Government Bans Shiite Liberation Music
npr.org — The spread of these CDs "instigate violence against the coalition and Iraqi forces, mostly in Sadr City," Qassem Adda a spokesman for Baghdad's Law Enforcement Operations Department said in a recent interview. He is talking about songs like "I Am the IED," which refers to improvised explosive devices, the weapon of choice among Iraqi insurgents.

- caferrell, on 05/16/2008, -0/+11These are the songs of patriotism, rebelling against the occupying conqueror. These songs do not sing about attacking the Iraqi government, only about attacking the American occupiers. Our lackey government has made the songs illegal, certainly at our behest.
The songs are becoming increasingly popular and now that they are illegal, their popularity will increase even more. Our continued occupation is becoming more and more impossible. When the artists unite against you, there will be no way to control the populace. Read Jacques Barzun's "From Dawn To Decadence" for about 800 pages of examples of that principle. - Planck81, on 09/10/2008, -0/+0http://www.downloadmusicblogs.net/latinamericancul ...
