Iraq security adviser to Americans: Be patient
cnn.com — As the Iraq war entered its sixth year, Iraq's national security adviser urged Americans to be patient, contending that the war is "well worth fighting" because it has implications about "global terror." "If we don't prevail, if we don't succeed in this war, then we are doomed forever," he said.

Don't expect it to get too much air time on this side of the pond, though. Reid and HRC have already told us the war is lost, and that we're not accomplishing anything at all.
- damnyooneek, on 03/24/2008, -0/+1The Iraq report said that the main flaw in the strategy wasn't stopping insurgents or winning the love of the people, it was corruption within the Iraqi government that is sucking us dry. There are billions of dollars unaccounted within the government. The soldiers are doing a great job but a strong Iraqi government is needed to stop this war. Of course the Iraqi officials are begging us to stay. Their people aren't going to put up with it. As soon as we're gone they're gone too.
- geeke, on 03/24/2008, -0/+1We need to leave Iraq. This war is causing our country to go into the ***** money wise. The Iraq GOV. needs to get its ***** together so we can get out.
- csonger, on 03/24/2008, -1/+14000 dead, 100s of billions spent, and all we've done is create a new breeding ground for terror. Not especially clever.
- diggrnumber1, on 03/24/2008, -1/+0actually, exceptionally clever. cheney and co. have successfully created a climate particularly conducive to higher crude oil prices. if the situation continues to spiral out of control, the shares of oil companies and contractors they own will continue to go up.
