- eternal464, on 07/10/2009, -4/+18I don't like the way the title is expressed.
The average American consumes too many cheeseburgers each year. My car consumes X number of gallons of gas each year.
Lives are not consumed. They are not used for anything nor are they designed to be. Lives are lost or stolen, and it should never be belittled or made to sound less horrific than it is. The recent softening of words to make violence less real makes me sick. - MWeather, on 07/10/2009, -1/+11Well orchestrated? Two guys pressed a button at the same time. Not exactly difficult.
- thelab101, on 07/10/2009, -1/+9The only problem is that they're offing each other slower than they're reproducing.
- smashTasker, on 07/10/2009, -6/+12They'll always be able to blame the US. The US caused all of this.
- FattyMagee, on 07/10/2009, -3/+9Because the US didn't remove the dictator that then caused the country to go into civil turmoil or anything like that.
- smashTasker, on 07/10/2009, -1/+6There wasn't a large Al Qaeda presence when Saddam was in charge. After the US removed him, Al Qaeda moved right in. So yes, we did cause them to kill each other.
- MWeather, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5Wow, I never expected hostility for not giving proper praise to the terrorists.
- smashTasker, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5I guess that's a valid point if you completely ignore any events that occurred the 8 years after that article was published.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/10/2009, -2/+6Not just Islam. All old testament based religions are warlike.
- dshPls, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4gun yourself in the head
- keysmachine, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4remember most of iraq were calling us "invaders" and they really didn't want us around now that we are moving on to greener pastures. They're getting the ***** blown out of them. this is exactly what happened the first time we were there back during desert storm. You can't deliver peace and prosperity to a country ruled by chaos and suffering
- DankBuddz, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4I'm so glad we invaded Iraq, everything is so much better now.
- gleongelpi, on 07/10/2009, -4/+8Remember, the objective was to bankrupt the United States. Dubya was more than happy to please them by spending thousands of dollars keeping troops over there for every dollar they spent. The objective is pure and simple: to draw us back into the quackmire. The longer we fight; the weaker we become and the less we are liked (I mean: the more we are disliked) throughout the world, specially in the Muslin world.
- DarthVolta, on 07/10/2009, -3/+7These comments are an abortion of the English language.
- howcani, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4i don't think so ,it is the interesting title
- theviceroy, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3"God works through people" -- they think the Lord has called upon THEM to do the fixing, in the way they think it needs fixed. Its extremely arrogant, and kind of goes against the grain of most all religious thought.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -5/+8ohhhh Damn one more Bomb Blast ..!!
Don't know when this Terrorists will spare the world and when god damn peace will come across the this universe. - tomasII, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3OH please. The Muslim world will hate the US regardless of policy. They hate everyone who won't bow to allah
- IAMRaven, on 07/11/2009, -1/+3I just hope they are killing each other at a faster rate than they are breeding over there, so that eventually this problem will go away.
- skissors, on 07/10/2009, -2/+4I'd be pretty full after consuming that many lives.
- mc88, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2How many people would have been killed in Iraq by the regime had we not invaded. I'm guessing the number would pale in comparison.
And we would have a lot fewer dead and maimed American soldiers. - methdwman3, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Quackmire.. LOL
- theviceroy, on 07/10/2009, -1/+3I really don't understand how someone thinks that blowing themselves up and killing everyone around them counts as being martyred unless they are brainwashed or something.... oh. nevermind.
- lemur, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2My point exactly!
- OLTP, on 07/10/2009, -2/+4OM NOM NOM
- smashTasker, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2And 1,320,511 total have died after Saddam was removed.
- TriNiiTy, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1well technically if the terrorists succeed and get nukes and start nuclear holocaust everyone will be dead and TADA peace
- Korberos, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1Trolling... Sometimes it's just too easy.
- altgeeky1, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2China went along with the UN resolutions on Iraq for 2 reasons:
1) George Bush and the GOP promised that US government would sell more debt to China.
2) George Bush and the GOP promised that there would be NOW new taxes to pay for the war on HIS watch, as this might be harmful to the Consumer's demand for Chinese goods (and besides, debt wouldn't make him look bad... "there's a war going on")
So yeah, unfortunately the two are connected as you state. These concessions to China were another nail in the US's coffin... but it's all the next president's problem now. - DamnLogins, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1Bin Laden has won a bigger victory than even he probably ever dreamed possible.
Entire Muslim world sympathetic to his *****-up cause - CHECK
Huge economic damage to "Western" countries - CHECK
Schism between the US and traditional allies - CHECK
US seen as global bad guys - CHECK
It would be easy to blame Bush, but that would be too glib. Everyone who had that "John Wayne" rush of blood to their brain after 9/11 should bear some responsibility. - BotchaMcCoola, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2Thousands? The lowest credible estimate I have seen by experts puts it more like $3 trillion. And judging from Vietnam and Korea I bet that is way too low as well.
- mehuldeveloper, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1So futuristic thought you have
- iHeartCamels, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1FYI Muslim leaders condemned this as a violation of their religion. Your accusation failed
- Sil369, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1i dont know why this is here but i will digg u up anyways
- duggtodeath, on 07/10/2009, -7/+8Submitter's crazy title assaults consume the English language.
- altgeeky1, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1By spending thousands, I don't think you meant "dollars". American lives would be more correct.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Very helpful comment.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2Not sure which ones you want to step it up. Are our politicians still bribing the Sunnis not to fight the Shiites? That is how the politiicans made it seem like the surge is working. What will they buy with the money you are sending them? How about those exiled in Syria after losing their homes, businesses and family members. Some of them will for sure find a way to come pay us a visit in the US. They can probably pretend to be friendly to the US.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2Oh yes, downdiggers. Cover your ears and make the danger go away. You are easy prey for these politicians
- TonyCubed, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Guess they both lost at Rock, Paper and Scissors, huh?
- FattyMagee, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Maybe or maybe not. But since we did, were on the hook for the situation there for the next while.
- fr33dan, on 07/10/2009, -3/+3It's bomb not a fat guy at the buffet.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0syntaxgs has an apprentice?
- MrSelfDestruct, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0Just like the US
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1In fact. they had to add a last chapter (Revelation) to the Bible to make it seem Jesus was warlike too. I was not fooled and I hope were not either.
- DankBuddz, on 07/10/2009, -2/+2Was Christianity the religion of peace when they...
yeah, that would take waayyy too long, sorry. - inactive, on 07/10/2009, -1/+0That was terrible, dugg.
- lemur, on 07/10/2009, -5/+4One of the main problems with these terrorists is that they have no faith in God... they say they believe in God, but somehow they don't believe that God can handle taking care of his own creation. They don't believe in a society where people live in their natural state: freely and peacefully, even though that's precisely what God intended. They try to do God's job for Him by dominating and controlling innocent people, apparently because God did the wrong thing by granting human beings free will to live how they choose. These people claim to be with God, but really they are totally in opposition to anything resembling religion or justice.
- tomasII, on 07/11/2009, -2/+1Yeah, Sadaam & Sons only killed 300,0000 Iraqis. I can see how the US is the bad guy for taking him out.
Watch as Barry's policies unravel in Iraq. - dinglebutt, on 07/10/2009, -1/+0Sorry, I spent minutes agonizing over how to deliver that joke quickly. I knew I failed miserably as I clicked Save Reply.
