- dcodrea, on 04/16/2009, -3/+58Let's hope the younger generation gets fed up with their barbaric regime. The Persians can be a great people if they can just rid themselves of their 14th Century overlords.
- FUR10N, on 04/16/2009, -1/+16What a ***** up country.
- Stingwolf, on 04/16/2009, -0/+14Because they don't want to lose their power?
- mitikomon, on 04/16/2009, -1/+14Recently bluehost decided to sack Iranian wrodpress blogger. They have the rights to do this. but "shutting or taking down these blogs would be to the detriment of free speech and open discussions in Iran. It would be ‘assisting Iran’s censorship activities, if I can call it that. Other hosts are starting to do the same and at this rate, we’ll have no blogs posting from Iran."
"We respectfully acknowledge the rights of Bluehost and do thank their administration for their high level of service. We do hope that Bluehost drops its policy and does not disrupt the current level of discussion on Bluehost-powered blogs.
The Persian Bloggers who use Bluehost are dispersed all over the world and produce content for people from Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and other countries. The action taken by Bluehost, while entirely legal, will harm the Persian blogosphere"

There, I said it. - poidh, on 04/16/2009, -4/+15More like 7th Century.
I hear that most of the young people have no taste for Islam or the backwardsness, but are unwilling or unable to do anything about it. - CyberSally, on 04/16/2009, -4/+15They should teabag whoever proposed this!
- Stormwern, on 04/16/2009, -0/+10Big things are happening in Iran. Many of the bloggers will undoubtedly continue to speak up regardless of punishment, hope to god they'll be ok.
- papashawn, on 04/16/2009, -0/+9Maddox wouldn't last two hours over there.
- borez, on 04/16/2009, -1/+10That's just ridiculous, why are these people so scared of 'freedom of speech'
- bigfatphony19, on 04/16/2009, -2/+10That's ***** sick. What an awful awful place.
- tourettes1992, on 04/16/2009, -1/+9Who's for buying some Iranian web space and offensively down them on blogs?
- BrettFromTibet, on 04/16/2009, -0/+7I hope the Persian people will summon the courage to not stand for this any longer, and face the real root of their problems and oppression... their government and their fundamentalist religious fanatics... and stop blaming Israel and the West as a scapegoat. It does nothing but tighten the chains on themselves and it will create nothing but tragedy.
- ForTh3W1n, on 04/16/2009, -0/+7LOL, imagine getting killed by just writing a couple of words.
- Stormwern, on 04/16/2009, -1/+7May I point out that the great majority of the bloggers are also muslims. Fundamentalism is not a religion, it's a disposition, pick the right enemy.

- poidh, on 04/16/2009, -3/+9Give the UK a couple of decades. We getting closer.
- decker12, on 04/16/2009, -4/+9I'll say it again.. ISLAM is AWESOME!

Iranian people are not entirely guilty for this, you know? - peaceoflife, on 04/16/2009, -0/+4How can you be put to death for blogging? Because they want to control the internet activity? That's too harsh.
- simpletonian, on 04/16/2009, -0/+4One more example of misuse of religion by paranoids. Also, why is that kid selling those weird balloons?
- jordantneff, on 04/16/2009, -2/+6More like 5th Century BCE. Read the code of assura or code of the hammurabi and substitute sex for 'inappropriate blogging'.

- copypastry, on 04/16/2009, -0/+4I dunno man, 4chan is pretty homophobic, racist, and sexist.
This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship... all moot needs to do is convert to Islam and we can get 4Iran up and running.
Oops forget it, I forgot that 4ch is mostly atheist/antitheist. - Stormwern, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3Perhaps he means buried.
- waydee, on 04/17/2009, -1/+4Innocent people need to die at the hands of Israel to enact change in Iranian government?
Really? - DrLeePhD, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3Down with the shah! Down with the shah! Down with the shah!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808417/ - cr4ft, on 04/17/2009, -0/+3After executing all bloggers, President Ahmadinejad was questioned about the rights of bloggers in his country, his response was "we have uhhhh nooo bloggers in zis country, we have no phenomenon like this like you have in America"
- Sloi, on 04/17/2009, -0/+3Agreed, and I thought it was already well understood that I wasn't referring to the people, though they *are* partially responsible for what's going on by virtue of their submissiveness.
- magamiako, on 04/16/2009, -3/+6Are we seriously much different than this? I mean, there are many punishments worse than death and we offer them right here in the United States. Teenage girls who send their boyfriends naked pictures end up putting themselves, their boyfriends, and their friends on the sex offender registry where they are demonized and prevented from living a normal life for the rest of their years--out casted by society. We have similar heinous laws just like this one in Iran. And if they're not crazy federal laws, they're usually locally implemented through counties or even down to HOAs.
- omega09, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3Score!
- jjason1985, on 04/16/2009, -4/+7Buried for Israeligirl propaganda
- SquigglyP, on 04/17/2009, -0/+3we don't sentence people to death here, we just strip them of their humanity. Gay? We won't kill you (well... it's not legal to kill you... put it that way...) but basic rights that every other person in this country gets, like marriage? Nope. You're not 'human' enough for that.
- BWatkins, on 04/16/2009, -1/+4The new no-fly list is only comprised of people that refuse to worship Obama.
- doshindude, on 04/16/2009, -1/+4there's a delete button you know.
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -4/+6I hope Obama takes the final decision to put Iran in its place by allowing Israel to strike it.
Or at the very least he should follow Benyamin Netanyahu's suggestions and enforce crippling sanctions on Iran's economy. Just like we did to Iraq when it was ruled by Saddam Hussein.
Just look at how Iraq is right now -- a burgeoning democracy. Iran could be the same in a couple of years. All Obama has to do is trust Israel.
P.S Thank you for submitting this story IsraeliGirl. - chinaman1212, on 04/16/2009, -2/+4be prepared to get your ass buried.
not from me though. +1 - stevgex, on 04/16/2009, -0/+2I nominate Huffington Post

- sobore, on 04/16/2009, -0/+2If you lived there, would you really want to chance posting anything at all?
What a a$$ backward blood thirsty regime. Plus, how in the hell do you spell the leaders name: AMADICKUGUYS - GaltShrugged, on 04/16/2009, -1/+3Look at all the diggies, not digg this on the front page. It's not anti-American enough.
- SquigglyP, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2I think you have the whole Israel/US relationship backwards. If Israel wants Iran attacked, we'll be the ones doing it. We did it with Iraq already. Twice. And the sanctions. Iran is already under attack. We just can't go in and bomb the ***** out of them until they do something worth attacking them for. No matter how much pressure we put on them, they won't do anything too stupid (aside from their human rights violations, which apparently we just don't care enough about to do anything).
We now control Iraq, Afghanistan and we're making a lot of in-roads into Pakistan. We control the waters around their country. They're all but cut off from everything. All we have to do now is start turning the economic screws - the same way we did with Iraq. And do you think that will hurt the leadership? ***** no. We'll just be forcing the people there into starvation until there's a mass revolt or they finally decide to attack us.
But don't let there be any confusion... they really want Iran to attack something. They want that so bad that they've tried their hardest to make it look like they were right on the brink a few times, and that we needed to get in there and pre-emptively attack them.
Bottom line is that it's their country. It's not our place to go in there and decide for them how they need to live or rule themselves. If they want a revolution, then they'll have one, and we should just stay the ***** out of it. Our getting too involved in the affairs of other countries is what got us into this predicament in the first place.
Yes, Iraq is a blossoming new democracy. Of course, as they keep telling us, the moment we leave all of that will change and they'll go back to being a terrorist nation. Right? We just have to stay there. Otherwise the terrorists will take over. Right? - SquigglyP, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2dur hur hur.
btw, "fr/Lefties"? why couldn't you just type "from Lefties"? Are the two whole characters you saved really worth looking like a 12 year old girl using a cell phone to post *****?
