- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4As it has been widely reported that al-Qaeda was temporarily abandoning Iraq I find this story hard to believe. Now if this had happened 2 months ago I might have been persuaded.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Interesting indeed, but do you know what is missing? How many attacks by al-Qaeda have occurred inside of Iran? Without that this story seems to miss too many relevant points, not that I am solidly behind Bush's plan in this instance.
We know that Hezbollah is the Iranian terror troops. We also know where they have been active. I do believe that Iran is culpable in assisting the terrorists inside of Iraq. No one has shown a definite link between al-Qaeda and Iran as was proven with Iraq's dealings with them. - silenceHR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2FTA:
"Since al-Qaeda fighters began streaming into Iran from Afghanistan in the winter of 2001, Tehran had turned over hundreds of people to U.S. allies and provided U.S. intelligence with the names, photographs and fingerprints of those it held in custody, according to senior U.S. intelligence and administration officials. In early 2003, it offered to hand over the remaining high-value targets directly to the United States if Washington would turn over a group of exiled Iranian militants hiding in Iraq."
I can see how Iran is supporting terrorism .. by turning AQ and taleban fighters to US ... they prolly arrested more AQ / taleban then Pakistan or Saudi Arabia ...
Interesting. - silenceHR, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1check the dates ... Iran has been detaining AQ/taleban for years ...
