- felchdonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+99Who's stupider, the guy who thinks there's a bride and $100,000 in gold waiting for him in an African hotel, or the kidnappers who think a guy like that would be able to raise a hundred thousand dollar ransom once they got him?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+43Why the ***** would you believe that anyone in a 3rd world country would need your help to get out of it, especially if they are able to come up with $100,000 in GOLD?!? This guy has to be one of the dumbest people in Australia.
- djmadness, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24No but he did get *****
- dtele, on 10/10/2007, -2/+25that would have to be one of the most embarassing stories to tell your future kids
- sparrowkc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23Hmm, I guess I'll cancel my flight to Africa then. I was all excited about meeting her too...
- FBombAndy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14"Asked if he had learnt his lesson, Mr Gregor replied: 'I think so.' "
"I think so" isn't the best answer. I bet he gives out his eBay password soon. - Waskonator, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15"Birthday Girl" - decent movie, kinda relates to this story.
This guy's an idiot. The internet is for porn, not for marriage. - NoStoppingUs, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14i see what you did there.
- eclectro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12You would think that the $100,000 in gold would be a tipoff.
- onewingedangel9, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Did anybody else cringe when his picture popped up?
- AlphaEta, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12I'm surprised that such a dapper gentleman couldn't find a bride the old-fashioned way! Especially when he's sporting two cameras and those awesome blades.
- BamBBBam, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10This clown was on the news tonight. Turns out he has been scammed before - he went to Russia three years ago to meet a bride which didn't exist either..
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Nay, the world.
- eddy144, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I highly doubt that guy would ever had kids.
- Akaricloud, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The greatest part in this entire story comes when the kidnappers were tricked into believing that the ransom money was to be picked up from the Canadian embassy so they release him.
That just made my day when I heard that. Go the Aussie Federal Police, not many people can trick a group of armed africans to pick up money from a government building. - tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10She probably has AIDS anyway. /horrific evil
- sq2shooter, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7There is nothing that comes from Africa that is not a scam. How do people not know this by now?
- Srscat, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Annoys me that our taxes pay for greedy/horny idiots like this to be 'rescued' from their own stupidity. Ugh.
- Tivor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Compared to this, people who buy stuff from spam mails seem hundred-folds smarter.
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6In Africa, more
Evil crocodiles
Will you bite,
Hitting and offend,
Do not walk, children
In Africa around.
In Africa robber,
In Africa, the villain,
In Africa, terrible
Bar-ing lei!
According to Google's translator. - tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6That would only be the case if they had killed him... or at least used those machetes on a certain part of him.
- oddtom, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Australia must be hurting for legends if this ***** somehow makes the cut.
- rainergamer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6That word does not mean what you think it means.
- Waskonator, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4...should i even care what this says?
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I made a yelping sound and then puked a little in my mouth. Does that count?
- sirber, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4yes, you're doing it right
- akkibaba, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4For the benefit of our slightly slow friend mrkredo : You only qualify for a Darwin award if your act prevents you from ever reproducing.
- wigam, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Australia's IQ just dropped when this guy re-entered the country.
- theducks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Picking it up from the Canadian Embassy might have sounded like a good neutral country to the kidnappers, but as far as Mali is concerned, it is an Australian Embassy as well. Check out http://www.dfat.gov.au/dept/annual_reports/03_04/appendixes/13.html
- CMaff24, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Did he even get laid?
- aboron, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I'm not sure if I'd rather be dead, or known for legendary stupidity...
(ok, maybe not dead, but it's really a close call) - schrutefan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Evolution is not being allowed to take its course... the gene pool is starting to look pretty ***** thin.
- EntangledPhysx, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I'd just call that guy a stupid *****.
- Tenlow, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5...I'm not sure a guy like that is going to have kids.
- fliped, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2did anybody watch dateline nbc's report on something similar to this? im surprised people are actually stupid enough to fall for these things... let alone invest thousands into something that will supposedly give them millions.
- javip, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I dunno... he's pretty dumb, but there are an awful lot of rednecks and right wing loonies he'd have to climb over to make that world list
- Asianwaste, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No he'll go home and try out another human trafficking ring for another wife, the dumbass.
- 4eloBek, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2all i say is he is dumber then he looks...
- sbolanos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wow, I'm glad I'm not living in Adelaide anymore!
- torrzilla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes, I like Pina Coladas and getting caught in a scam.
- mu1ti, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2The greatest part in this entire story comes when the kidnappers were tricked into believing that the ransom money was to be picked up from the Canadian embassy so they release him.
indeed !
internet + bride are just 2 words that shouldn't go together.. - Akaricloud, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Are you actually Australian? You haven't listed a country of origin in your profile, but if write something like that I need to believe you are not Australian. No one is going to criticise him for this, odds are he will become an aussie legend and he will tell his story over and over again on sunday arvos at the pub. No one cares, the AFP and embassies are there for a reason, let them do their jobs and bring home legends with stories to tell
- rocketdog7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1how would he get $100,000 in gold through customs had it not been a scam?
- AlphaEta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1***** is my new favorite word. Thank you!
- Mothrog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Most of the African scammers are pretty ***** stupid themselves. It's not that amazing. Go take a peek at the 419 reverse scammer sites.
- madIvan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Not really. It's an old kids' verse about dangers of Africa... Although I don't see why he would post it in Russian here...
- Scheissen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1haha Pussie! I mean aussie.
- virtualguy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0LOL
theres one born every minute... - WebWorker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Lesson: Don't read the mail in the folder called "Spam"
