- TonySki, on 03/16/2008, -0/+37I'd like to say I'm scared of spiders.
- capiCrimm, on 03/16/2008, -1/+33never speak out against Scientology or I will hide spiders in your cereal.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/16/2008, -0/+12That exactly what I was thinking I'd say. Spiders... ***** HATE them.
- Waterrat, on 03/16/2008, -1/+3But someone told me they taste like shrimp!
- bbardlbradd, on 03/16/2008, -1/+1Now I hate them MOAR!
- BlackCow, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1The real question is, what are they afraid of?
- Waterrat, on 03/16/2008, -1/+3But someone told me they taste like shrimp!
- reichg, on 03/16/2008, -1/+3but what are your crimes, what are your crimes
- Ataxia2008, on 03/16/2008, -5/+67I'm all for Anti-Co$ news, but this must be at least 3-4 years old by now, no?
- kcmedic, on 03/16/2008, -0/+22Yes, but it is a good example of the "Always attack-Never defend" tactics they use.
- mesasone, on 03/16/2008, -1/+9I'm sorry the rest of us haven't managed to reach the end of the Internet yet. There are still many things that we haven't seen, regardless of how "old" they are.

- SillyDigger, on 03/16/2008, -0/+11you should submit a digg story on this
- bbardlbradd, on 03/16/2008, -0/+6OMG, that was full of wonder.
At least in london they don't have incompetent police officers that are placed at every corner to disrupt /any/ sort of conflict.
Also, isn't it odd that most of the scientology protests you see in America, the Scientologists ask them to leave, with reasons of why they should, and the protester always confronts someone that has something to do with law, and then they ask them to leave, turn off the camera, and the protester almost always tell the law official that they have already contacted the police department about whether or not it is ok to be there, before hand... THIS IS AMERICA! C'mon, if people want to speak out, let there be no challenges between law and the citizen, even if there is impolite slang, even if there is slander, they are words... Now, if someone is physically harassed, by all means, take them away, but for words? For a documentation!? What is up in America, the land of the free, where we feel like we first must contact the authorities and ask permission to protest? LUDICROUS, I tell you, absolutely un-American.
Descartes makes the point that people are rational beings, read up on that. Anything that you do that doesn't directly harm another person physically is acceptable grounds for the propagation of ideas... and I think America is twisting itself into a knot over this. THE LAW IS FRAGILE AND EASILY MANIPULATED BY THE RIGHT PEOPLE (not to say that the people are /right/), THE LAW IS NOT CONCRETE AND IT IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT! In fact, the law is rarely correct when it comes to humanitarian liberty, because the law only exists to suppress those who wish to TAKE liberty from others. - acetv, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3This comment was at 70+ when I first saw it. Watched the video, then came back to give him a thumbs up -- count updated to +30 diggs. Nice.
- falafelkiosken, on 03/16/2008, -0/+39it's completly clear who's afraid, and it's not Mark
- nyrol2, on 03/16/2008, -0/+5Well when someone sounds enough like Ray Romano, I'm not really surprised.
- AustinGoodchild, on 03/16/2008, -2/+7It also wouldn't surprise me if that the police officers acted so strongly against the reporter was because they are practicing Scientologists in the community too.
- kingofinternet, on 03/16/2008, -1/+12this is a very enturbulating video

The cop in that first video doesn't work for the precinct of that area, could the Co$ have used a fake cop? Perhaps a cop of their choosing?- jimjimjimson, on 03/16/2008, -1/+6That cop (the LAPD guy, not the security guard in the white shirt) is a real Hollywood Division motorcycle cop who is often assigned to work events like this. He's also found at a lot of film locations keeping onlookers away. I've seen him around town many, many times over many years, and he acts the same way everywhere he works, so I doubt he's a Scientology tool.
- j1ggy, on 03/16/2008, -0/+10 After all that he didn't get to ride the ferris wheel?
- skyfyre, on 03/16/2008, -0/+6I wish we could kill two birds with one stone and sick the Westboro Baptist Church crazies on the Scientology crazies.

- zephc, on 03/16/2008, -0/+4What are you afraid of?
Bears.
What are you really afraid of?
The North American grizzly.
No, what are you really afraid of?
Being sucked into a creepy, crazy cult.

- jtbell04, on 03/16/2008, -0/+0I know he isn't, I probably could've phrased my reply better as "Thing is, were he from /b/, they may very well be right...".
He's actually from myspace, which is why it's shocking that he doesn't flip out and scream at those psychotic scientologists.

- liquidpele, on 03/16/2008, -7/+3If you tried to stop every dumb idiot in the world, you would be on a fools errand. The point is to oppose the organization from limiting freedom of speech by filing lawsuits, and to take away their tax except status (because even insane people think that's *****). Worrying about 3 guys that harass a cameraman who was there to put their organization into a negative light is not looking at the bigger picture.
- PDAIsAOk, on 03/16/2008, -0/+15I like how they also tried to claim he beat his wife. Funny because L Ron Hubbard beat his second wife and harassed them even after she divorced his worthless scifi ass.
http://www.ronthenut.org/northrup.htm - flano1, on 03/16/2008, -0/+7I thought those guys were really scary until one of them said "Did you take time off from beating your wife to come down here?" Man I haven't laughed so hard for ages!
- antiorblkflag9, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3He looks like a child molester to me...

- dannytehmanny, on 03/16/2008, -1/+6There faces look very punchable.
- delfin1, on 03/16/2008, -0/+4wow! those guys are clueless and act childishly. The cameraman was also very annoying and disrespectful but i suppose he did it on purpose to see the other guys' reaction, and they fell in his trap.
If you are going to be scientolgy follower, you should know how to defend your faith, otherwise it just comes out as a total lack of interest and makes you look like fan boy.
Did anyone else notice that they talk like Tom cruise, woah!

"Look, the only people who are against the church are the people who have... er, who are afraid of finding something. ::melodramatic beat::: You do understand that? I didn't say it quite right........you're afraid of having something found out."- bbardlbradd, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2lol, your fat SUV flips and catches fire and these guys walk up like "What's your crime!?" and you're like "Don't save me bro" and they're like "No, What are you trying to hide? What are you trying to hide? What have you done? You're afraid aren't you!?" all while your body is sizzling and popping in the fire. Then the other's like "We've already wasted too much of our time".

LOLOLOLOLOLOL- Berkana, on 03/16/2008, -0/+30Total freedom? LOL indeed. Scientologists can't even browse the web freely. Any Scientologists committed beyond a certain level are required to use the Scientology web filter, which keeps them from seeing things critical of the church, which even censors and monitors their e-mail activity.

- dafragsta, on 03/16/2008, -2/+2The scary thing is that if a superchurch pastor started getting entrepeneurial, we could EASILY see the rise of a new denomination of Christianity that was just as nasty. We know there are enough ultra neo-conservatives with an agenda of isolationism and theocracy that they could pull it off. It'd be even worse. They'd have more leverage because Christianity is the home team.
- Berkana, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2Not entirely true. Catholicism is the biggest sect of Christianity in the US, but even among Catholics, there is a very strong movement in opposition against Opus Dei, which many Catholics even consider a cult religious order because of some of their activities. Some folks blame Opus Dei for disconnecting them from their loved ones, and for utterly monopolizing their new member's time, social connections, and activities and indoctrinating them.
Any group that behaves like a cult will be called out on it; there are plenty of Christian cults, but they don't get away with it any more than the Co$. In fact, the Co$ has probably gotten away with far more due to their tactics; they are just beginning to reap what they've sown.

- BigglesPiP, on 03/16/2008, -21/+18Religious fanatics. Every religion has them, they're just out looking to pick a fight. The cause of ALL war.
- kungfujedis, on 03/16/2008, -9/+12I'm pretty sure the war we are in now in Iraq was caused by greed. And most "religous" wars are really just greed under the guise of religion.
- dildoolielly, on 03/16/2008, -6/+5No, we go to war because of religion. No such thing as "under the guise of religion". Deny it all you want, Its the religious nuts who put these psychotics in power in the first place.
But go ahead Christians, bury Scientology as quick as you can, because YOU ARE NEXT!- ramy33, on 03/16/2008, -2/+3Lol what?
- Irrelevant1, on 03/16/2008, -2/+3People who say "omg all major religions are next, scientology is just the beginning" are complete dumbasses. As has been stated many times, we don't have anything against the religion of Scientology, just the actual church. They're free to believe in whatever they want. If you actual believe what you said, then you're completely ignorant as to the real mission of Anonymous.
- HolemCross, on 03/16/2008, -2/+4@ dildoolielly: Yes we would all go to war because there is nothing to be gained but the spread our good o'l religion. Even events like the crusades were not entirely about the divine. Fame, fortune, and power is what causes wars. Not a single war would continue if it weren't for at least one of those three things.
- dildoolielly, on 03/16/2008, -1/+3How do you think these psychotics get in power? The sheeple put them there. I guess that part slipped your mind?
I will agree however that religion was created to:
to keep the poor, poor.
to keep the poor hopeful.
to keep the poor scared.
to keep the poor away from the rich.
to keep the poor from murdering the rich.
- dildoolielly, on 03/16/2008, -1/+3How do you think these psychotics get in power? The sheeple put them there. I guess that part slipped your mind?
- ramy33, on 03/16/2008, -1/+0Ya thats exactly how my history teacher explains it.
- BigglesPiP, on 03/16/2008, -1/+1No, the war against Iraq/Afgan. is a combination of aftershocks of WW1&2, and the mulsims beleif that they will one day rule the world.

- GreenAlien, on 03/16/2008, -0/+5"AAARG You just want to beat them all with a heavy stick repeatedly until they stop twitching. Smug *****."
And that's exactly the response they attempt to get. Sometimes they succeed (like the BBC Panorama presenter) and sometimes they fail, as in this case, and make a complete ass of themselves.
The video does shed some light on their mentality though. They see themselves as a large organization and there are no large organizations setup to actively oppose them. Anyone that does is seen as standalone individuals who can be intimidated easily by the CoS throwing multiple members at them. In that video they refer to him as a "gnat". Ironically when talking to the media they refer to Anonymous as terrorists. This is why I wasnt impressed by the DDoS attack on their website. It meant they were down a couple of days until they purchased a service to prevent DDoS. Now they have something negative to say about those that oppose them on the internet.
What we need is a responsible organization to take on this cult. Not to oppose what they believe in (if they want to believe there's aliens in all of us that need purging then bully to them) but to oppose the organization itself. People should not feel isolated for expressing their opinions - they should have an organization available to them to help out and advise how to respond to CoS underhand tactics, or to actively help out with legal retaliation (collecting evidence of harassment, legal funds etc).
CoS have been allowed to get away with everything they've done because most werent even aware of it. But now they have the internet to contend with. - TheOneTrueGod, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2Exactly what I thought: The provocation, e.g. the child-molestation-accusation, was clearly the pouring of negative energy into the world. Half a minute before that, they had said that Scientology were all good and the camguy all bad.
You don't need any background to be able to say after seeing that video that Scientology must be ended.

- NSResponder, on 03/16/2008, -0/+6"Do you know the name of this guy?"
Yeah, that's Mark Bunker. The man's been well-known for his protests against the criminal nut cult for quite a few years now.

- troycott, on 03/16/2008, -2/+57What was the deal with the cops???
"It's a public street but they don't want you here....??"- mdcarso, on 03/16/2008, -0/+27Most of the police in Clearwater are on the CoS payroll. They, for all intents and purposes, own the local police.
- HolemCross, on 03/16/2008, -0/+8At least that was how the cops were at that time. From what I've heard, the police at March 15 protest were quite nice.
- elpresidente408, on 03/16/2008, -0/+6Is it true if you get a permit for a section of street that it's no longer public? How does that work?
- TheOneTrueGod, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Don't know. But you can clearly say: Scientology is taking over the streets. They are clearly a threat. Religion, church, business... whatever. They are a THREAT and hence to be dealt with.
- diptheria, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Yes, you buy a permit from the city. You pay to have the event policed. You can then have a private fucntion...like a party in this video, or if you are making a film, you get a permit to close the street to film...It usually costs a fair amount of money, but if you have connections like scientology and the event is not for profit, i'm sure it can be had for less...
- linuxpenguin, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2Except that it's not closed to the public if there's a sign that says "All welcome" and "everyone's" allowed to join in with the festivities.
- s14sh3r, on 03/16/2008, -3/+13Anonymous must not give up on this cause, there is power in numbers.
- Cabanaman, on 03/16/2008, -2/+18I'm glad this was reposted. I managed to miss it when it first came out.
Jesus, these people are ***** insane. - FoxMcCloud1, on 03/16/2008, -4/+11This one is old news. What is going on new with the Scientology war? I would like to see Anonymous have a flat out victory, like a court decision that would force the CoS to be dismantled, not just honk if your horny picket demos.
- exomni, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2That would be a terrible court decision. However, refuting their class-A tax exempt status that puts them above other religious organizations, and maybe even their status as a religious organization, would be quite appropriate.
- linuxpenguin, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Haven't heard too much new in a while, but I'll bet Anon has some things planned. Only so much news can come out only so fast - and I'm sure the CoS is doing all they can to prevent it.
- FoxMcCloud1, on 03/16/2008, -6/+29if anonymous wants to win lets see a kick ass website with paypal donations and some swank lawyers. I bet they might get enough funds to actually do something!
- nunu4u, on 03/16/2008, -0/+4Its more fun to take them down with cake and rickroll
- d0onut, on 03/16/2008, -0/+1...What kind of cake are you talking about?
- Sharky35, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2You must not understand Anon.
- Krazykorean530, on 03/16/2008, -1/+1Lol the Cult of scientology accepts enough "donations" as it is. Although people like you and I (you know not pieces of *****) would probably see it as holding someone by their ankles and shaking them till money falls out.
- GreenAlien, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3"if anonymous wants to win lets see a kick ass website with paypal donations and some swank lawyers. I bet they might get enough funds to actually do something!"
Exactly. We need an organisation to take them on. CoS resort to bully tactics on individuals, threats of legal action against anyone who speaks against them, infiltration of government and media, threats, fabricated trashing of people via shop windows and neighbours and so on. We need an organization that an individual can turn to in response to this kind of activity by the CoS.
Someone like the guy with the camera in this video would be ideal to front such a group. - provost, on 03/16/2008, -6/+1If diggers only had back all that money they gave to ron paul, they could have done something useful with it like that.
- hshadow914, on 03/16/2008, -1/+2That wasn't a waste, im pretty sure no one really expected him to win, just like anyone who votes for ralph nader, but it is of the utmost importance to always have someone say "I won't stand for our constitution to be used as toilet paper" and "Isolationist policy FTW" (paraphrasing). People like nader and paul might inspire other more electable politicians to lead our country to where it once was and should be.
- Anonchrist, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1This is not about the corruption of the Scientology Organization, nor has it ever been the reason for all of this. We wanted complete internet freedom and they stood in the way of that... In the end, we fought hard, we won epically, and we did a little dance. So, just sit back and let the lulz be free fuel for your hate machine.
- nunu4u, on 03/16/2008, -0/+4Its more fun to take them down with cake and rickroll
- Bozmanbeyond, on 03/16/2008, -0/+1Wow and they call them Scientology they are brutal people and I don't think I would want to be like one of them if that's how they treat someone who isn't. Most religious groups don't harass people like that. I my self was never taught to be so forcing on people like a bunch of thugs. They look more like a gang of mobsters trying to rub him out with verbal attacks instead of weapons.
- chrisaug18, on 03/16/2008, -1/+12That scared the ***** out of me
