- CaptainAmerica1, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4Well, you can't win a war without it, either.
- SirPopper, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1Without money there will exist no war.
applied logic or symbolic logic?- roosevans, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1I am not sure what logic applies, but wars are not won my the military trying to be bankers. That is not a military mission. While we are there our military should be destroying and/ or disarming Iraqi militias, securing the Iraq and Iran border to keep Iranian weapons out of Iraq, and training the Iraq army to do the same! Leave the banking to the Iraqi banks!

- BECoole, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2I totally disagree with bribing these people. That is one of the things that have made this war so outrageously expensive and such a drag on the value of the dollar. Between this and people defaulting on their mortgages, it's like a perfect economic storm.
We need to cut the bribes and win this old school.- CryRightardCry, on 04/09/2008, -3/+1Try reading the article.
It's not bribes, it's loans. With paperwork and everything.
"Win this old school"?

"his main purpose is to hand out "microgrants" of $50 to $5,000 to support Iraqi businesses." The soldier goes on to say that some of the money is even used to finance attacks against Americans.

- CryRightardCry, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3Just so you all know, you yourself can do microloans at kiva.org.
I don't think you can help the Iraqis there, but you can make small loans to people who need help all over the world.- sungoddess808, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2That was very nice of you to share the website, kiva.org, Thank you! A little bit goes a long way! =)
- RuffRidr, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Do you know anybody who has used this service before? I'd like to hear other's experience with this before I tried it myself.
- speakeasy602, on 04/10/2008, -0/+0Are we running their credit? I didn't read anything about how they are deciding credit-worthiness.. There better be some collateral or something.
I am all for helping out businesses and everything, but there is a huge difference between a hand-out and a loan.
