Ignored By Media & to Buried @ digg -Christian Persecution
cbn.com — In this remote eastern region of India, Hindu radicals are accused of a deliberate and systematic campaign to eradicate Christians from the land. Violence began a month ago when a Hindu leader was murdered here. Hindu fanatic groups held Christians responsible for it and went on the rampage. Some 4,000 Christian homes & 400 churches were destroyed

Thanks for adding both the article and news link as well! - PappyPapillon, on 10/02/2008, -1/+9Only God Himself knows why He has held back persecution of Christians here in North America for so long. But I think a lot of us know that this holding back may be coming to an end very soon. As one pastor semi-jokingly said "If God doesn't bring His judgment down upon America then He is going to have to issue an apology to Sodom and Gomorrah." I don't believe it's too late for America to repent, but I don't believe America will repent. And I sight not only the ongoing collapse of ethics and morals in our country as evidence that we won't repent, but also of the almost universal lack of empathy toward our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who are being persecuted for Christ. Sure, there are those who do care and do get involved at one some level or another, but by and large North American Christians are deaf dumb and blind to the suffering of Christians around the world - and willfully so.
- ccso8462, on 10/02/2008, -1/+5Lazy Christians in America have been taught that they will be spared persecution by the Rapture. Persecution is here now, and our complacency will not spare us, only lull us into a false sense of security: "It couldn't happen here." RRIIIIIGHHT!!! Put your armor on now, the storm is on the horizon!
- PappyPapillon, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2I happen to believe in a pre-trib rapture, but I don't see where that protects Christians from persecution or tribulation in this world. Christ told us that we would face tribulation in this world. The rapture might protect Christian's from suffering God's wrath (as Christ suffered God's wrath on our behalf and Christ cannot be crucified anew and we are the Body of Christ and so on and so forth - you know the arguments) but that doesn't mean we won't suffer all the persecution and tribulation that the world can throw at us. To claim that the pre-trib rapture protects Christians from the persecution and tribulation of this world is to do an incredible disservice to our fellow Christians around the world not to mention the many millions who have been killed for Christ in the last two thousand years.
