- Baconation, on 11/15/2009, -3/+255Aside from this being terrible, did anyone else notice the caption "Hope is near ... Dr Brilliant helps the children"
Really, Dr. Brilliant? - MacBookForMe, on 11/14/2009, -17/+242Poor innocent children...some large parts of our common homeland Africa are still performing that stone age witchcraft manners...
- digg1520, on 11/15/2009, -6/+231Africa still totally ***** up, news at 11.
- ic3burg, on 11/14/2009, -2/+200That is just crazy sick. What is wrong with some people?
- Joe_rigby, on 11/15/2009, -4/+186This is like how the gang leaders in District 9 wanted that guy's arm, only legs.
The moral of the story: If you're different, it's gonna cost you an arm or some legs. - dhartin, on 11/15/2009, -6/+173what is this, albino legs are now the new ivory?
- flyinfoofighter, on 11/15/2009, -4/+156I only trust A+++++ sellers.
- eobet, on 11/15/2009, -11/+150This might sound a bit racist, but god DAMN ***** savages!
The scientific side of me is had its curiosity piqued, though: How come there are to many albinos in Tanzania? - aufte, on 11/15/2009, -2/+125Santa, this is what happens when you skip entire continents.
- hove, on 11/15/2009, -0/+118Out of interest in what context is it ok to burst into someones home and kill their child?
- spambutcher, on 11/15/2009, -7/+113Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.
-Voltaire
There are a lot of people in the U.S. who believe just as silly stuff - it's just we don't usually actively kill people over it. We're more prone to passively kill people:
http://www.jennymccarthybodycount.com/ - Ddraig, on 11/15/2009, -1/+102Someone should tell them the most powerful potion in the universe can be made from a witch doctor's nose.
- PurpleDee, on 11/15/2009, -0/+98"Demand for albino body parts comes from various quarters including miners looking for help tracing gold and gems and fishermen who believe tying the milky white limbs to their nets will increase the catch."
wat - grungefan, on 11/15/2009, -0/+95I've heard human horn is a powerful aphrodisiac.
- Hellahulla, on 11/15/2009, -8/+96It's a horrible thing. Sometimes the only way to react is with humour. Doesn't mean we don't care about the plight of those poor bastards. What else can we do, go there ourselves and put a stop to it? Write to our member of parliament?
So please, shut up. - CaptOblivious, on 11/15/2009, -1/+89Is that because guidos are a separate species that evolved from lizards, not mammals?
- shaunj66, on 11/15/2009, -1/+86Dugg for Dr. Brilliant. What a name!
- 9portal, on 11/15/2009, -3/+86Are you suggesting that the Air force pilots who fly drones in support of US ground troops fighting in Afghanistan alongside NATO to establish a free democratic state in place of an evil medieval tyranny
are morally equivalent to people who chop off the legs of a young girl for a black magic ritual? - Gguillorn, on 11/15/2009, -0/+79Lol, I was really worried about opening a 4chan pic considering the article, but it was worth it.
- fischius, on 11/15/2009, -5/+79 As nil said, if you take a genetic test everyone will have at least 1% African ancestry due to the fact that every human on earth evolved from ancestors that dwelled in Africa. Except for people from New Jersey.
- Elohir, on 11/15/2009, -10/+81Savagery in Africa!?
Sayitaintso! - muzzy, on 11/15/2009, -4/+71@krebcycle
Picture one- A small village with an aqueduct and impeccable masonry that has held up for most likely hundreds of years. This small village most likely also rakes in tons of tourism money and its citizens are smart enough not to tear down historical buildings.
Picture Two- A city settled and built by the Dutch and English. Also home to an extremely large slum populated by native Africans.
Picture Three- Another city built and created by English settlers. Also home to an extremely large slum populated by native Africans.
To deny that Africa is ***** up beyond belief is to do an injustice to that continent. Even African leaders admit to this.
I won't try and offer a solution, as I don't think anybody really knows... but the continent is in a very dire state of disrepair and dysfunction, and plunges further in that direction as the rest of the world continues to modernize. - ModeSeven, on 11/15/2009, -1/+67Almost as bad? Are you ***** insane? Hacking someone to death to harvest their body parts is "almost as bad" as watching fox news?
- Gguillorn, on 11/15/2009, -1/+56That will teach them not to kill Tanzanians!
- DiggRage, on 11/15/2009, -1/+55You are a dumbass
- elislider, on 11/15/2009, -0/+53dugg for truth
and the interrobang - Laminarcissus, on 11/15/2009, -15/+68Hmm, that idea seemed to make you unusually uncomfortable.
- jwbales, on 11/15/2009, -2/+55Remember this the next time you hear someone claim that there is no such thing as a primitive culture.
- robertisaar, on 11/15/2009, -0/+51how would that be racist? it's(at least) one person chopping another person's legs off.
skin color makes no difference, that's a savage act. - eadnams, on 11/15/2009, -0/+51moral relativism fail.
- nilhilustfreder, on 11/15/2009, -6/+52It doesn't matter who you are, go far enough back and all of your ancestors are from there.
- lamiaconfitor, on 11/15/2009, -1/+46Note they said Tanzania is considered the most liberal and stable in Africa.
Other practices encouraged by superstition in Africa include penis theft (psychological) and the most horrifying, for the cure of AIDS; the rape of babies. - MrTankJump, on 11/15/2009, -2/+46Slavery was happening in Africa long before the Europeans came.
- magic6435, on 11/15/2009, -6/+50ROFL
- ByteGuerilla, on 11/15/2009, -1/+44No, legless humour is kind of lame.
- juslen, on 11/15/2009, -9/+52Not surprised one bit.
- Iceman21, on 11/15/2009, -0/+42Nothing is to blame but the stupidity and heartless evil of the people doing this.
- shmurrebruh, on 11/15/2009, -5/+44All your ancestors were 1-celled organisms in the ocean, dude. Ha!
- ralphthemagi, on 11/15/2009, -1/+40The power of literacy and education can never be underestimated.
- cjw10, on 11/15/2009, -3/+42If the children are vampires.
- nathanxplosion, on 11/15/2009, -5/+42i lol'd
- rotundo, on 11/15/2009, -0/+36I'm critical of intolerance in the US too, but in fact we are one of the most tolerant non-homogeneous societies in the world. A friend of mine who is half Guatemalan and half Japanese and grew up in both countries says that while you may see less overt intolerance or discussion of such issues, it's actually far worse than in the US. In his opinion the US is an almost unimaginable utopia of tolerance, considering world history and how humans usually handle differences.
- cajungal, on 11/15/2009, -2/+38Sickening, just sickening.
- namesRhard, on 11/15/2009, -1/+34Yes, curse them for introducing witch doctors to Africa! D:<
