- BigGooseX, on 06/21/2009, -2/+174A small group of policeman really do not stand a chance against a large group of determined people no matter what weapons they are carrying. But, what the protesters really need to do is to convert to the policeman to their cause. If there is no one to enforce the supreme leader's rulings, he doesn't stand a chance.
- ozul, on 06/21/2009, -0/+140Although its always good to watch the rabid police get pwned by the people, I must tell you that this video is not of the recent uprising but in fact its from a riot a few months ago in a small town (Khomeini shahr / Sedeh) near Isfahan. Here is the original upload on youtube. The date is Jan 15, 2009.
- skidork, on 06/21/2009, -4/+117The police throwing rocks...Now that's new.
- plugy, on 06/21/2009, -3/+98the description says the video is graphic but i didn't see anything like that...so its cool to watch for those with a weak stomach..
- alexmuller, on 06/21/2009, -7/+96I tried to come up with a witty, sarcastic comment about police throwing rocks at protesters, but… couldn't. What the *****?
- Nephilik, on 06/21/2009, -2/+67People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Power to the people anyway. - preppywhiteguy, on 06/21/2009, -3/+47Good!
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -1/+36Yeah except for the Revolutionary Guard.
Good luck converting them.... - teamr, on 06/21/2009, -4/+37run for the hills!!
- MassiveTaTas, on 06/21/2009, -10/+43I wonder how AhmaDickWad feels about this?
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -2/+33...the running ...the yelling *faints*
- ozul, on 06/21/2009, -5/+34It's probably the people of Iran, and those other who actually do care about humanity. Not conspiracy theorists like you.
- mohsenxp, on 06/21/2009, -2/+28This is from January 2009. Misleading.
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -1/+25You did not post a link.
- damack, on 06/21/2009, -4/+27This is the problem if the police get shot or killed by the protestors the response is going to be terrible.
They need to keep their protests peaceful and make sure they don't kill a single police officer.
If a police officer gets shot or stoned to death the next action is bring in the military and give the soldiers shoot to kill orders on hostile targets.
It's going to be a really really bad thing if a policeman dies in these riots at the hand of protestors. - spargonaut, on 06/21/2009, -2/+23run for your lives!
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -1/+20The video was filmed in January. Buried as misleading/inaccurate.
http://digg.com/world_news/IRAN_Police_Runnning_Aw ... - leftofthecenter, on 06/21/2009, -3/+22Um, yyyyeah, have you been watching the news at all? Every station is pretty much stuck on this Iran story. Its as big as the election. Face it dickweed, people are extremely interested in this story.

Power to the people anyway. - logir, on 06/21/2009, -4/+19The police are not the real bad guys here. The anti-democratic politicians are, as well as the much more enthusiastic religious police. As likely as not the normal police are running away to avoid having to fight their cousins in the crowd.
- TigerStar337, on 06/21/2009, -1/+15BBC has excellent coverage of the Iran protesters. This is video of police clash: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8111670.stm
Power corrupts, but we need the electricity. - inactive, on 06/21/2009, -3/+17I bet a lot of the police agree with the protesters. The leaders are the tyrants not the police.
- glaz, on 06/21/2009, -1/+14This won't end well...
- Helmin7hiasis, on 06/21/2009, -1/+14I like when the police think they're all tough so they start throwing rocks. Then they see the wall of people and quickly turn around and run.
- ozul, on 06/21/2009, -1/+13I guess you rely on the official media of the coup government, but I must tell you all something about the LAW regarding this issue:
Article 27, Islamic Republic of Iran Constitution: "Article 27 provides for freedom of assembly, "provided arms are not carried" and the assemblies "are not detrimental to the fundamental principles of Islam"."
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Islam ...
Note: The demonstrations started out totally peaceful and even now that the coup government has opened fire on the crowds, nobody carries arms (stones are not arms, right?) and the sole request was to nullify the election and do a re-run. Nothing to do with the fundamental principles of islam and/or the islamic republic. - inactive, on 06/21/2009, -2/+13Remember NEDA RIP. Pass it on.
http://s581.photobucket.com/albums/ss252/forneda/? ... - kazamx, on 06/21/2009, -0/+11The police aren't the problem.
The problem is the Bariji (spelt wrong) and the army. - offrdbandit, on 06/21/2009, -4/+15It's actually quite old.
- Schmich, on 06/21/2009, -0/+10In the US and other countries, it's the government that looks into people's lives when it should be the EXACT OPPOSITE. The governments should be as transparent as possible.
- clemsontigers, on 06/21/2009, -1/+11Iran so far away...
- glaz, on 06/21/2009, -3/+13Haha, that is the greatest post I've ever read on digg! What a complete moron. The CIA/Mossad have allied to...digg stories available from every major news outlet around the world (including Arab and Iranian) about the Iranian riots. It must be a conspiracy!
- OptionalPirate, on 06/21/2009, -0/+10Godspeed, Iran. Best of luck in throwing off the shackles of tyranny.
- norman619, on 06/21/2009, -2/+11It's not him who you should be wondering that about. As president he has no real power. He is just a political figure. Iran is a Theocracy which means the politicians have no real power. The religious leaders run the country. The real leader is the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Please stop giving the man more credit than he deserves. Khamenei is the one who is pulling the strings.
- chillybeans27, on 06/21/2009, -4/+13Yeah, you guys should really act more matuDISREGARD THAT I SUCK *****!!!!!!!!!!!
- ontain, on 06/21/2009, -0/+8in other countries yes. but not in the US sadly.
- irkalla, on 06/21/2009, -2/+10That's because we have a functional democracy with (relatively) free and fair elections. I'm not going to say our democracy is perfect, but the only people whining about tyranny in the United States are sore losers just mad their candidate lost the election last year.
- rwiggum, on 06/21/2009, -1/+9"Yes the massive demonstrations of what.... Three thousand people?"
Try hundreds of thousands, if not millions. And that's from Iran's state-run media, no less. - Jeepinator, on 06/21/2009, -0/+8norman: With a name like MassiveTaTas I doubt he cares about how his maturity level is perceived on the internet.
- mohsenxp, on 06/21/2009, -0/+8That video on the BBC site sent shivers down my spine.
The few civilians on the front line who run towards the police without any fear, causing the others to follow. Absolute bravery at its finest! - irkalla, on 06/21/2009, -1/+8There's a difference between being oppressed and being a sore loser.
Guess which you are? - w00tdigg, on 06/21/2009, -1/+8And Iran, Iran so far away!
- foofightrs777, on 06/21/2009, -1/+8Now tasers, that's new...bro.
- leftofthecenter, on 06/21/2009, -6/+13I got to tell you, the police in America wouldn't have stood for people blocking the streets for even a few minutes without a permit. Seems to me Iranians, despite laws against demonstrating, in truth have more freedom of speech than we Americans.
Ask yourself this: If Americans were in the street chanting "Death to the President," what do you think would happen?
Furthermore, although I support the new modernized urban Iranian point of view, I don't really find it hard to believe that the people out in the urban areas voted in the incumbent. It happens here all the time, even in my red ass state of tennessee, around the urban areas, its always a blue victory.
I haven't seen an unbiased news report about this anywhere. Everyone is on the side of the protestors. We all believe the election was fraudulent, because that's the truth we want. - twishart, on 06/21/2009, -1/+8IRAN so far away
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -0/+7I don't think the Iranian police have a great deal of incentive to kill their neighbors, on one hand they're "doing their job" and on the other hand they are thinking "this is *****". Doing their job ain't lookin so good these days...
- bfogarty27, on 06/21/2009, -1/+8thats the problem with wanting to be in law enforcement which i do
once the government you are working for becomes corrupt its too hard to get out and switch sides -
