- MaddieCakes, on 04/18/2009, -22/+204"Dr Patrick Pritchard, an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, said: 'There is a space in the brain where a missile could pass without doing any major damage.'"
Well... maybe not a MISSILE...
In any case, she's lucky. - DirtPile, on 04/18/2009, -3/+164"Missile" is a generic term here.
- cdadabo, on 04/18/2009, -1/+158ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED
50 PTS
- Serve at least two cops tea after sustaining gunshot wound to the head - StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -35/+181"There's no way she should be alive other than a miracle from God."
Yeah, obviously. God stepped in to save her from dying after being shot but was just 0.5 seconds too late to make sure she didn't get shot by her psycho husband in the first place.
Or, you know, basic human physiology. - apostate38, on 04/18/2009, -7/+148they were hoping for coffee
- Diggnabbit, on 04/18/2009, -0/+120For what it's worth, the headline says that the husband survived, not the wife.
(i.e. the headline is wrong.) - leftofthecenter, on 04/18/2009, -19/+132Yeah, God decided it was time for a miracle, and so he figured he'd let hundreds of thousands of people die that day, but this lady should live. That's the way God thinks.
- pintomp3, on 04/18/2009, -8/+120Now that's a tea party.
- leftofthecenter, on 04/18/2009, -5/+106Suddenly, the end of "Fight Club" seems to be a bit more credible.
- iChainsaw, on 04/18/2009, -1/+97Man the hitboxes suck on that game.
But I loled at the fact that when he shot HIMSELF he died, but he's a teamkiller and that's what he gets - EnderWiggin, on 04/18/2009, -20/+94"There's no way she should be alive other than a miracle from God. You just don't hear of something like this. Somebody gets shot in the head and they're dead."
Why do people have to attribute any extremely rare outcome from a potential tragedy to the sky wizard? - inactive, on 04/18/2009, -7/+75I've got one better - I'm sitting here in my apartment, and not once today has anyone tried to break in here and shoot me. It's a miracle!
- Hobbes24, on 04/18/2009, -2/+65but a flesh wound!
- anthropodeus, on 04/18/2009, -0/+51***** LAG
- OdinsFury, on 04/18/2009, -1/+51I thought the bullet exited through his cheek?
- inactive, on 04/18/2009, -6/+53you can either choose to look at this as an epic fail *or* an epic win.
- Chooxo, on 04/18/2009, -4/+50I was about to randomly digg you down but then I got a really painful cramp in my hand.
God must be on overtime looking out for you! - Chooxo, on 04/18/2009, -0/+44It'd suck if the husband died thinking he was successful in killing his wife.
I'd want him to know that he'd ***** up in his final moments. Go out a failure. - JYoungest1, on 04/18/2009, -2/+45Its physics, for every epic fail there is an equal and opposite epic win.
- Maynza, on 04/18/2009, -1/+38"I want to make you dinner like I want a hole in the h-"
- bratterscain, on 04/18/2009, -10/+47She's not lucky. The only logical explanation is that it was a miracle. A religious cop knows more about brain anatomy than a brain surgeon so he's got to be correct. Also, my bible tells me so.
- faskippy, on 04/18/2009, -2/+38This was my "oh *****" moment today.
- TheSkunkMonkey, on 04/18/2009, -7/+42While I prefer George Carlin's "boogeyman in the sky", your "sky wizard" is definitely a close second on my list of favorite names for the boogeyman in the sky.
- phyx726, on 04/18/2009, -1/+35Not my cup of tea.
- PaulRay, on 04/18/2009, -2/+36It did. Seems Norton is a terrible shot.
- therusher, on 04/18/2009, -2/+36@crackerjohn: or any other FPS?

- RadiatedAnt, on 04/18/2009, -6/+32Fire Ze Missile!
- RichardCoryJD, on 04/18/2009, -3/+28I dugg this comment up, but I have no idea why I did. Truly, God must have compelled me to do it. It's a miracle, indeed!
- hypocriticizer, on 04/18/2009, -0/+25Take a snapshot of the tunnel before it heals!!
- Renian, on 04/18/2009, -3/+27But I'm le tired.

- JulyZerg, on 04/18/2009, -3/+26I don't call my parents "sky wizard", thank you very much.
- Chooxo, on 04/18/2009, -1/+23I was wondering about that when I first read it :)
I thought "well, of course he survived, but it was very polite of him to welcome the cops like that". - eir574, on 04/18/2009, -4/+26"Because sometimes there are true miracles."
When people call something a miracle because they don't have an explanation for it, and then later on we find an explanation, does that make you reconsider the criteria you use to determine whether something is a miracle vs. a natural occurrence that we don't yet understand?
The tendency to attribute any good outcome of unknown cause to a deity seems no different than attributing seizures to demonic possession. We now know that people who have seizures have a neurological disorder, but there are still regions of the world where people attribute them to the supernatural for no other reason than that they just don't have the medical knowledge to recognize something like epilepsy for what it is. - RadiatedAnt, on 04/18/2009, -2/+23Well.....have a nap. THEN FIRE ZE MISSILES!!!
- PaulRay, on 04/18/2009, -0/+21"The best revenge is living well." She's gotten the ultimate revenge by living.
- defendliberty, on 04/18/2009, -1/+21Lol'd at team killer.
- bumcheekcity, on 04/18/2009, -7/+26"There's no way she should be alive other than a miracle from God."
Actually, it turns out that "not being shot" would be adequate for her to be alive. Miracles are funny things, aren't they? - therusher, on 04/18/2009, -2/+20@OdinsFury: Implied.
- sneakerelph, on 04/18/2009, -3/+20@dreamweaver
You can choose religion. You can't choose your race or sexuality.
Making fun of stupid decisions is always funny. - videodroner, on 04/18/2009, -0/+15Fills my heart with joy that there's still people out there with manners... even after being shot in the head.
- ThaiGrocer, on 04/18/2009, -2/+16I'm starting to think that strange ***** happens around the world all the time. Only the internet can deliver for everyone to know.
- ftc08, on 04/18/2009, -5/+19This is Mississippi.... There are a lot of places that bullet could go and not hit anything in a good population of the state.
- Nicoon, on 04/18/2009, -2/+16WTF MATE? ^^
- jordanau, on 04/18/2009, -2/+15I would assume she offered them sweet iced tea.
- inactive, on 04/18/2009, -11/+24It was all fine and dandy up until this "There's no way she should be alive other than a miracle from God."
I really hate when people say that contradictory *****. Yeah, really. God allowed her to survive through this "miracle", why did he let her get shot to begin with? *rolls eyes* Sounds like god is an ***** to me if that were the case.
There's no miracle. Sheer luck, plain and simple! -
