Anyone can download a program like Truecrypt, follow its simple wizard, and get state-of-the-art encryption, naming the file anything they like.
Are the authorities going to do an in-depth file-by-file search to see if one file is a sneaky encrypted file? I seriously doubt it.
Even if they do, you can tell them the password, because Truecrypt can create a *second* passworded hidden drive within the first, and it's totally undetectable (well, unless somebody with the computing power of the NSA is looking for it.)
Sorry to sound like a commercial - I'm just making the point that the *real* bad guys already know all this stuff, and only the stupid and naive will be caught with their pirate mp3s. - gonrada, on 08/01/2008, -1/+3Encrypted hard-drive.
