- strikezero, on 10/11/2007, -5/+97"The site included the groups under a description of what it called "single-issue" terrorists. That group includes people who feel they are trying to create a better world, the Web site said."
So basically everyone is a terrorist. - fober, on 10/11/2007, -2/+63Just because it's not on the website anymore, doesn't mean they're no longer advocating it.
- noahhoward, on 10/11/2007, -1/+55The page is only down while they revamp it with a list of Digg members.
- Aidenag, on 10/11/2007, -7/+46Here is the submission from 18 days ago, It looks pretty clear, Digg did this :)
http://www.digg.com/politics/Libertarians_Are_Terrorists_Says_the_State_of_Alabama - Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -6/+42All suspects are considered terrorists until proven Republican, it seems.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+29did we get pennsylvania to change yet?

I pay taxes in Alabama so apparently my opinion matters, well atleast if we are taking your logic into account - DeskFlyer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+25"He (Jim Walker) said he plans to put the Web site back on the Internet, but will no longer identify specific types of groups."
Which doesn't mean jack *****. The list still exists. - SMITHN4, on 10/11/2007, -4/+25btw gay terrorists walk the streets or Birmingham with their fuchsia AKs and flamboyant scarves.
/sarcasm
they don't wear scarves... - Sambone67, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17@hawk
The federal taxes I pay get distributed over the entire country moron, so yes, I do have an opinion as to what goes on there. - purdueAl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15@brstilson
So has the US government. Perhaps Homeland Security should put themselves on that list? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16"A list requires more than one entry:
EVERYONE WHO ISN'T A DIE HARD NEOCON AND/OR DOESN'T SUPPORT THE NEOCON AGENDA 100%"
There...fixed that for you. ;) - Hacbarton, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14The worst thing about such a website list is that it was public and offered as helpful information. If they continue to teach that "single-issue" groups are terrorists in their training sessions, that's still pretty bad, but it isn't as bad as making it public and encouraging reporting. The scariest part of the list was its Orwellian, "neighbourhood watch" style of anti-terrorist tactics it was vouching for.Let's not have self-rightous vigilantes shutting down libertarian or gay-rights groups, then we'll pretend we live in a free society.
- dliu4, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14The most active domestic terrorists in Pennsylvania are ______________.
a. Islamic Extremists
b. White supremacists
c. Anarchists
d. Separatists

"People have got to stop thinking that everything on the Digg homepage has the power to change the world in some way because, quite frankly, it doesn't."
On the contrary, it is the belief that we can change the world that leads to that very change. I personally believe that Digg is a catalyst for change and in believing such we create that very reality.
"They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself."
- Andy Warhol - bigrodey77, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14You mean we're all not considered terrorists?
- R34C7, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11@fkr
So your great resolution is that we are powerless so we must concede? Forgive me if I do not submit to such rationale... - Nougat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11@Hawk2007 (#6920289)
While I don't live in Alabama, I might have considered travelling there, or starting a business there, or locating a manufacturing facility there. - OUChevelleSS, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13Probably is a coincidence, yeah.
In other news, something of mine is bowing to the Snorg Tee Girl Effect. - JD52, on 10/11/2007, -13/+22A gay terrorist attack would include the following....
All our major cities would be decorated in fushia and pink.
Queer eye would be on every cable station, every hour of every day. The the exception of the newly started Babara Streisand Network.
Gives the term "Dirty Bomb" a whole new meaning.
etc etc etc....... - jeffiek, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11A list requires more than one entry:
EVERYONE - BoneheadFarker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Just checked out their website. I'd say no. The "Interactive Quiz" is kinda interesting though...
http://www.pa-aware.org/who-are-terrorists/quiz.asp - Nougat, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10@chris9902 (#6920309)
It's been a damn long time since Digg was *only* a tech website, Rip van Winkle. - RamboJesus, on 10/11/2007, -4/+12We are willing to take action instead of taking it up the &@#!, so yes, I do believe we are.
- Cleisthenis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Just because they take down that website, or alter it to remove ref. to activist and awareness groups, doesn't mean their policy has changed. They are still monitoring and infringing on your civil liberties.
- stonebear, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7strikezero wrote: "So basically everyone is a terrorist."
Now you're getting the idea. - hikaruzero, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8"Hopefully no one apologizes for including these groups. There have been documented cases of terrorism from all three."
There have been documented cases of terrorism from the group that includes "everyone" too.
Just because terrorism exists and takes on many forms does not mean everyone associated with certain groups is a terrorist. It makes me sad to see you even thinking that ... - theNazz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I'm not going quietly to the camp, that is for damn sure.
- catalysis, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Ok nerds, get your carpel tunnel gloves out, it's time to change the world!
- PeppermintPig, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Profiling might help you solve a case, but you're taking a big risk by publicizing that information and thereby alienating the people you claim are 'terrorists', who may actually be non-violent. It seems like lazyness is the cause of such general profiling, but that's what I expect from bureaucracy. The government, by the constitution, is not supposed to have a DHS or anything like this in the first place, so on top of the initial fact that this practice is immoral, it is illegal.
You'd have a greater chance of correlating Police activity with drug-related deaths if you want to rely foremost on profiling. Innocent until proven guilty my ass!
The reasoning appears to be that by objectifying you, it's somehow more acceptable to violate your liberties. Associating someone with TEH TERRORISTS is government's way of silencing and subjugating its ideological opposition. - CPMan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5So, is this an actual change in ADHS *policy*? Or, simply a change in policy *disclosure*? Before they pulled the website, at least we knew what we were up against.
- PeppermintPig, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Where are all of these 'Digg doesn't make a difference' people coming from if Digg doesn't make a difference? Apparently it attracted YOUR attention. :P
- diggeon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Regardless of Digg being a factor, we are not talking about one ignorant fool exercising free speech, this is the The Alabama Department of Homeland Security.
- TriTech, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I guess they would have to include most of the religious right in the "single issue groups". They also think they are making the world a better place.
This is not much different than what happened in the Vietnam era, only now there is more light that can be shown more rapidly on what these idiots do in the name of 'security'. - fkr3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Digging a story is not taking action.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8welcome to my block list Hawk2007 - you'll find lots of good company there.

"What happens when you vote up or down a story or comment on digg?"
You inform and inspire thousands. - dykesat, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7There was an abortion clinic bombing in Birmingham in 1998.
http://cgi.cnn.com/US/9801/29/bombing.update/
Abortion opponents deserve to be on that list. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I don't think thats exactly what the Digg effect is.
I thought it was when a website was brought down by flooding the tubez. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Digg is a user based content site. There is no nefarious terrorist linkage or association here at all. Digg scares the hell out of corporate run media conglomerates that are desperately trying to "secure" the internet in yet another attempt to control the flow of information- which goes against all freedom principals in which our country is supposedly based on. The land of the free- is really becoming the land of the fee. With Google and Microsoft selling out their databases to the government and lists are being created and most likely cyber-terrorism (I did not make up this term- the National Security adviser did) will be anyone who gathers information or participates in actions contrary to the Patriot Act can be imprisoned.
Digg.com is actually one of the free-er user content sites- they do not pass on or sell their database information to any company and have security measures in place that rival the technological computer security systems of the U.S. Government. Digg's Jay Adelson Equinix, Inc., which he founded in 1998 created the most advanced network security server technology and even was brought into congress for consultations. Do your research folks and you will see why Digg gets targeted!!!
The fact that Digg has turned down offers from major corporations and players simply makes them a target. I personally love the fact that Digg wags their fannies at these lying fat cats while they still can!
While any of us still can for that matter!
Digg getting all of this attention from media outlets just proves they are doing something right! - d1ricks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3so this on digg is cool but Ron Paul on digg is spam?
- Hacbarton, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Great--we're trying to build tolerance, and you use such opportunity to force several stereotypes. Thank you for contributing to the average idiocy level. Checks in the mail.
- Favre4Favre, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Sounds like what CAIR does. Diggers are getting too big for their britches, delusions of grandeur are setting in.
- Amnesia10, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3"Single-issue extremists often focus on issues that are important to all of us. However, they have no problem crossing the line between legal protest and ... illegal acts, to include even murder, to succeed in their goals," it read.
Well I know that Pro Life supporters in the US have killed doctors in the US that had performed abortions. Yet their opponents are branded terrorists. Greenpeace have been around for decades and yet they have not killed anyone either. Though they had a photographer killed in a bombing on the Rainbow Warrior in 1985. So obviously they have decided over those intervening 22 years to resort to terrorism. /sarcasm
Also since the Duke of Edinburgh is a patron to the WWF (world wildlife fund) that must mean that he as an arch terrorist . He recently, with his with the Queen, had a State Banquet with George W Bush. What happened to the security there? That was a big lapse there. /sarcasm
I am not against anti terrorist legislation but lets get this into context. The vast bulk of terrorism aimed at the US will either be Muslim extremists, or home grown crazies who have a problem with some aspect of US life, be it the price of beer, or that the Police arrested Bubba again. The nuts have been there for years and will continue years after the worlds Muslims are either dead or too busy engrossed in rampant commercialism or getting on with their lives. - faskippy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Information good.
