breitbart.com — Has-been French film legend-turned-liberal-kook activist Brigitte Bardot took a swipe at Sarah Palin on Tuesday saying the US vice presidential candidate was a disgrace to women because by advocating gun rights, women can protect themselves and the Gov. of Alaska obviously knows nothing about polar bears.

I don't know the full story with Bardot, so I won't say whether this applies to her, but it's still important to know that in places like Europe and Canada, people make ridiculous and unsupported accusations of racism even more often than they do here, and their governments and court systems lack the logic and reasoning to see them as ridiculous.
She's clearly an environmental alarmist (not to be confused with people that care about the environment but don't personally attack everyone who disagrees on global warming; see, e.g., this very article - just read it) and self-identified as a very strong "animal rights" activist. Sounds Leftist to me. What's considered Left/Right in France doesn't line up with what's Left/Right in the U.S., nor does "racism" mean "Right-wing."
