- np374, on 10/11/2007, -2/+37I know it's gonna be hard, but I am going to refrain from being on digg let alone the Internet until I finish the book, because I know that some dick is going to spoil it in the comments.
- consonance, on 10/11/2007, -4/+39Snape kills Captain America.
- mbthompson, on 10/11/2007, -2/+32Um no, thestrals are horses, not dragons.
- blondeheroine, on 10/11/2007, -4/+30I enjoy it, too. Don't be embarrassed.

Darth Vader is really Harry's father... Sorry. - honkaform, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23Wow. ADHD much?

- JonRohan, on 10/11/2007, -6/+24Harry... you're a dragon rider.
- esotericguy, on 10/11/2007, -8/+25Cant wait till this book hits PirateBay!
- dn11, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17it's just good fantasy - better characterization and plot than most fantasy series out there these days. ***** the haters
- radishes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Same here. Had the last one spoiled for me.
Works gonna suck till I finish... - jenel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Oh, and Emma Watson.
- benmorris, on 10/11/2007, -6/+20Voldemort dies of a massive heart attack on the second page. In the following ten pages all of his followers disband. In the next 700 odd pages Harry becomes an accountant and begins his corporate rise.
- SEMW, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14> You have a point - they are described as horselike, but they are also scaly, which makes them dragonlike as well.
They are described as having "[the] skeletal body of a great, black, winged horse". "The body of a horse" pretty much means they're horses. That they may have a "dragonISH face" doesn't mean they *are* dragons, it's just a metaphor.
> Who the ***** reads Harry Potter?
Of the order of 100 million people, over 1% of the entire Earth's population.
> How old are you people?
Statistically, most likely 18-24 years old (source: http://ironic-pentameter.blogspot.com/2006/09/how-old-is-diggs-median-user.html) - speaker219, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Tehpwnrate... you have already said that
- nighthawk8713, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8I don't think the book is named for Godric's Hollow. The title is Deathly Hallows, not Hollows. A hollow is a depression like a valley, whereas hallow is to honor or revere.

I love the fact that you're such a dumbass. - gnalakalaciath5, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5it's okay, we have /b/ for that.
- jenel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6No boobs, no digg.
- tavisjohn, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8@esotericguy
I will probably have the whole book read before it hit's The Pirate Bay. - dn11, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6hrmm... i seem to remember a few thousand people freaking out over the fact that there was a single frame from an apple add showing an extra unknown, unseen button on the interface of the iphone... why are you surprised?
- NickMilne, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Hermione's clothes in tatters = instant classic
Or wait, this isn't the movie - rcomegys, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Yeah, and I sincerely doubt a guy who spends his time trolling around in comments for stories he cares nothing about, telling everyone to kill themselves, is getting any himself.
- phOeniXfeath3r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Millions of people around the world read it. A better question would be "Who doesn't read Harry Potter?".
"Um no, thestrals are horses, not dragons."
You have a point - they are described as horselike, but they are also scaly, which makes them dragonlike as well. - allan17, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6@dxx3
I don't think *anyone* on digg is getting any pussy. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@MongoTheEvil
What the ***** did you just say? - GoddessAgwe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3you...are not worth words.
- soccerman90, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4There is no reason in taking mongotheevil's comment seriously. Just digg him down
- vertinox, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Okay... lets start taking bets on what happens in the end of the book:
1. No one dies and everyone lives happily ever after including Voldermort who recants his evil ways
2. Snape dies saving Harry life, Harry kills Voldermort
3. Harry kills Snape and Voldermort
or
4. J.K. Rowling kills off Harry because she doesn't want some hack job making a mockery of her work when the publisher demands more Harry Potter books - HoGiHung, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4WTF are you talking about? Can someone please decipher his cryptic, ill written comment? If you think JK is such an awful writer, let's see what you can do. She is a brilliant and talented writer that has contributed a lot. Give her the respect she deserves.
Ho... - TheKingOfHell, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Harry Potter himself is the last horcrux. inside him is the final piece of Voldemort's soul.
and I don't even read the books. - hydratedsquash, on 10/11/2007, -7/+8Is that Trogdor? Will Harry burninate the countryside?
- GoddessAgwe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2"because she has a vagina"
whoa you are SEXIST. you know, the reason it's JK Rowling and not Joanne Rowling is because she was afraid of ***** like you.
and if you think that her writing is sadistic, obviously you don't get out much. i have real friends with real issues and what they write is way worse than whatever morbibidy you can fabricate from the harry potter series. - JRRC, on 10/11/2007, -7/+8In my opinion the dragon CAN be Norbert, but i think it fits perfectly the description of a Chinese Fireball (taken form Fantastic Beasts and were to Find Them): "The only oriental dragon has a particularly striking appearance. Scarlet and smooth-scaled, it has a fringe of golden spikes around its snub-snouted face and extremely protuberant eyes.". We'll have to wait for DH and see!
- mistarojaz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2thestrals are also black, and literally skin and bones, which still means that the thing in the picture is not a thestral.
- nickdngr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2@Anrkist
The cover in question may actually be one of the alternate covers for an "adult" version...same text, just a less kid-oriented cover so adults can carry the book on the subway or train without looking like they're reading children's book. I remember reading about the alternate covers for the first 5 books a bit back, maybe a year or so ago... - Schda, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Exactly what I've thought :) I'm rereading the books and that's what it points to. Ultimately I think Draco will end up having to kill Potter, due to the line in one of the books (think it's the fourth) where Dumbledore says that everyone will have to work together to defeat evil, even people who are enemies.... that's why Snape has to kill Dumbledore not Draco, so that he isn't pure evil, just a spoiled little brat :)
- RainbowApe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1nobody seems to have pointed out that the 2nd boy on the dragon isnt ginger enough to be ron, the girls obviously hermione...
1% of the world's population is still pretty good for a kids book tho.... - GoddessAgwe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1dxx3, who tortured you as a small child that makes you want everyone to kill themselves?
- JDogg1329, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1harry potter rules, hey mugglenet.com!
- budiarso, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1OMG.. don't let JKR read these comments because if she does, the book's release date would be delayed!
it's because she'd have to write a *NEW* last chapter of the book, where a newborn villain named MongoTheEvil is being eaten up by the dragon. And the dragon would actually be an Animagus, of JKR herself.
wicked ain't it................. y'all want that to happen? - einnej, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This book is going to be wicked. Can't wait.
And please, no "omg I can't believe you guys read harry potter" comments. Seriously, you'll just get dugg down - DawningImage, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0So excited!!!! I also hope the dragon is Norbert. It can't be a chinese fireball, they are red. And therestrals are horse sized, only able to carry maybe two people.

http://maxmagnusnorman.com/artist_blog/art_day_261.shtml - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Isn't this the title thats causing all the controversy ..some where in the book a lead character gets DATE RAPED ..thats ***** up !
This is the last of the Potter Books and a lead character gets raped on a date.........ouch way to offend fans on the last send off ! - qwerty1024, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1@NickMilne
No but it will eventually. And by that time, she should be around 20yo ;) - awesome15, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0OMG!! ive got the best theory!! Merope also had two daughters besides Tom Riddle. However we don't know who they are. I reckon it's Petunia and Lily. This means that Lily is the heir of Slytherin which means Harry is to. Lily has red hair just like Merope and it would explain why Lily has the same eyes as Harry who has the same Eyes as Voldemort! This would also explain why Harry can speak Parseltongue. However I think Harry is also the heir of Gryffindor as Harry got Godric Gryffindor's sword in the 2nd book and James and Lily used to live in Godric's Hollow! This means that Harry is the heir of Slytherin and the heir of Gryffindor! This is why Harry is so special and talented. This also explains why the Sorting Hat had so much trouble distinguishing between whether Harry should go to Slytherin or Gryffindor as he was the heir of both! This also means that Voldemort is Harry's uncle! Voldemort is also Lily's brother and Dudley's uncle. J.K Rowling said in the last book a non-magical character will use magic to protect themselves. This is Dudley! Probably when he gets attacked at his house now that the protection has worn off from Dumbledore. Think about it, there are so many reasons why Harry could be the heir of Slytherin and there is so may reasons why he can be the heir of Gryffindor. He is both!
Can someone please give me some feedback? - Firehed, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I believe it's actually "never tickle a sleeping dragon", but interesting insane theory. wllywst - it's on all of the merchandise, and JKR has it on her website or said it in an interview or something. I doubt it'd come into play for that reason, though - it's never actually said in any of the books.
- foresworn, on 10/11/2007, -8/+7I really hope that's Norbert!
- abbs866, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I am that excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And dxx3, go kill YOURSELF. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1I can't wait to read chapter 5
