Halloween sign warning of Sex-Offenders has large pumpkin
washingtontimes.com — The Scarlet Letter for Maryland sex offenders this Halloween will be a bright orange pumpkin. That is the symbol on a sign they are required to post on their doors with a warning, in capital letters, to trick-or-treaters: "No candy at this residence." Maybe a little confusing for young kids?

I am not defending sex offenders but this is stupid! Everyone knows that a house with no porch light on is the one you skip. The thing to do would be to require them to have absolutely no decorations and not have the porch light on. This is what I do and I never have anyone bother me for tricks or treats.

A well lit halloween decoration is only going to attract children, you have to see that.

I am not defending the actions of sex offenders, but the mere fact that there is this much control over someone's life is frightening. You wonder which group of people will be next to be placed on restrictions and how far this type of government control will go.
