- shirosamurai, on 10/12/2007, -38/+107"How many atheists commit hate crimes?"
Probably very few, to be completely honest with you. - meshman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+59"First the zionist and now the gay agenda"
Nothing trashes your credibility by using Zionist and Gay Agenda in the first sentence. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -49/+105I wonder if the attacker was Christian.
- adharris, on 10/12/2007, -26/+72Would people on digg stop completely lumping all christians together when one does something wrong? No where in the article does it even bring up religion. Seriously everybody, there are Christians out there that actually follow what the religion says to do. True, some christians can be very hypocritical but that doesnt mean that all of them are.
- PhantomBantam, on 10/12/2007, -15/+55Don't use a hate crime to perpetuate your own hate. Just tell me where you were touched.
The so called christians who hate Gays are just as bad as the Muslims who blow up buildings. - danakin, on 10/12/2007, -26/+64How many atheists commit hate crimes? How many Muslims? How many Jews? How many people of any belief group commit these horrible acts? Don't blame Christianity for hate crimes, blame human nature.
- TheSkinsFactory, on 10/12/2007, -7/+44@spyyder: I think I'm understanding where your hate is coming from. I recently read an article on a study done where they determined that the most violent and verbally abusive homophobic people, were actually for lack of a better term... "in the closet". So I'm sorry that you can't deal with the fact that when you see men you get a little chubby and that makes you upset, but spare the rest of us...mmmkay?
- corevette, on 10/12/2007, -15/+51Day of Silence 2007 - http://www.dayofsilence.org/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+40It's a good thing that the title is there to inform me about the "HATE" involved in this, I'm sure I never would have known otherwise.
- jcs_goog, on 10/12/2007, -10/+45Horrible!
- imnojezus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35The better question is why should he have to?
- cannibaljp, on 10/12/2007, -6/+38@spyyder
i'm just heartless enough to pray for you to have to witness someone in your life being beaten by a pack of idiots. you, apparently need something dark and brutal to wake you up and get your head out of your ass. - dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -34/+64Christians are waging war with the Secular west, imposing their ideas on us! So much for the religion of love.
- unknamed, on 10/12/2007, -6/+34As is the case with most hate mongering idiots, the guy who beat him is a complete coward. Attacking an unarmed senior citizen (gay or not) with a metal pipe is truly a horrific act of cowardice.
- TH3W1R3D, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32I'd like to beat that attacker with a metal pipe.
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -11/+38@theblooms
You confusing atheism with dictators who don't like competition and like to impose their own religious indoctrination. - Yez70, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Dear Anti-Gay Christian.
I understand that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination...
End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle- room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Thank You.

- captinherb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Did you just say "the most likely motive that the liberal MSM won't report" and then post a link to a liberal MSM reporting and the very thing you said they wouldn't report? Wow, now that takes balls.
- oceanmoon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24@voxmusulman
You must never have been to Detroit. They'll mug you over barrettes.
Hate crimes are very real. And detrimental to our society, regardless of belief. - Zap2, on 10/12/2007, -11/+33I don't know., but I do know he is scum.
- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Anyone that uses the phrase 'Gay Agenda" is full of ***** and a gay basher... -_-
there is no 'agenda', they just deserve as much rights as anyone else... and deserve to not be killed because of their sexual orientation... -_- - turpenine, on 10/12/2007, -27/+46well i think the christians who aren't attacking people, aren't doing anything/enough to stop it.
- CrashPoint, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22"A stranger would not question an old man's chosen sexual orientation. "
You have no idea what a stranger would do. That's what makes him a stranger.
"That sort of relationship is unstable and conflicted by its abnormal nature."
Proof?
"This is confirmed by the fact it happened right outside his home of all places."
Attacked near home == attacker was gay lover. Yes, that is completely logical. Also, I am Elvis.
"A doctor in NYC was attacked last week by what the police believe was a possible "companion" boy and yet the doctor invented some BS story about the attack being a mugging by hispanic men."
Well, I'm sold. One gay guy appears to have lied about the circumstances of his injuries, therefore all reports of fagbashing are obviously lies. I guess we'd better let all those so-called "rapists" out of prison now, on account of this one time a woman made up a phony rape story. - ICSU, on 10/12/2007, -7/+24"Seriously everybody, there are Christians out there that actually follow what the religion says to do."
You realize that the Bible actually tells you to kill homosexuals? - weister42, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17I have a buddy studying law in Detroit and he said he can't listen to hiphop anymore because if the Black dudes down the street hear it he'll get beat up. He's White Canadian.
I hope they catch that bastard and put him in the federal-pound-me-in-the-ass prison, that'll be the ultimate irony. - jlbraun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Armed gays don't get bashed.
www.pinkpistols.org - Fafnir43, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Now, now. As a gay person, I can confirm that we do indeed have an agenda. It goes something like this:
1. Become accepted into society.
2. Go on with life.
A truly nefarious plot, I'm sure you will agree. - Serrac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10@iainwell
If someone came up to you on the street and asked you if you were straight (I'm assuming you are) would you say no?
That's not flaunting your orientation, that's just being normal.
Anyone should have the right to say what sex they're attracted to without being accused of "shouting it". - shackleton1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I think you misread the article... The victim was asked, the victim did not do the asking. At least, that's how I'm reading it.
- Blue_Eon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11You'd think that in 2007, we'd be past all of this. It's ***** like this that sets the human race back.
- neonenergy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9After all those ridiculous comments,
Doesn't anyone realize that an OLD PERSON was MURDERED??? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14How is this BS? Gay bashing is real and a problem.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I think you hit the nail on the head. It's not about religion, anymore than racism was about religion (people have, in the past, used religion to defend racism). There just happens to be a convenient Bible quote, but it really is about "They're different than us."
- dilpil1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11For those claiming the bible does not condone the murder of homosexual men, read Leviticus. It uh, blatantly commands christians to kill gay people. Religion of love.
- Daunting, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13This is just deplorable. Seriously contemplate this for a moment. What has caused much of the anti-gay sentiments around the world and throughout history? I do not feel that it all started from one misinterpreted scripture in the Bible. There has to be something else that makes a person do this to another human being. I guess the, "Woo he's a stranger, let's pillage his village", philosophy still holds true.
- mickeyknoxxx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11"Do you how many people die every day, for no good reason? This isn't news"
Let me guess..
you work for FOX. - DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -10/+17BTW, to keep it on context, Leviticus 20 is God speaking directly to Moses. Unlike some parts of the Bible, it's pretty straightforward as to what it's meaning is.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10 I'd bet money on it being a bible beating fundy.
- Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+15I can't speak for the guy who posted the original comment here or those who replied to it, but looks to me like they were jabbing at the horde of anti-Muslim zealots who keep spamming digg with articles on how Islam is the source of all our problems, and how Muslims are the ones committing all the crimes here.
Alas any justifiable attack on them will be misinterpreted by all the non-fundamental Christians here. - TopherT, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Must be a troll methinks. Wow, what a story. Guess its still not a good idea to openly acknowledge being gay. Best give it a generation or so, there are far fewer homophobic youngsters than in my parent's generation. I went to the dentist just the other day and he confided in me that he didn't like his fraternity that much when he was in college because there were some 'gays' in it. I was struck dumb, he said it with such vehemence. I was reminded of rants I heard against racial integration of schools (in historical accounts, i'm only 22). I have homophobic friends but with them its more being extremely uncomfortable around gay people than any kind of hatred that would lead to beating someone with a lead pipe...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@adharris, nestafett, etc...
My comment was meant to mock neocons who deluged a newspaper with hate mail a few weeks ago after they failed to report whether or not a young man charged with murder who had a darkie-sounding name was Muslim. - Dustgunner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Nearly everyone in this comment section is a complete ***** idiot.
- Adwt0125, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9When will this nonsense end...
- Tobark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7What the hell. How did this guy being gay effect this guys life at all. What a waste. Too much hate.
- yourbandsux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6that is so sad .
- yhvdyt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Here's a 2002 article about the man who was killed.
http://www.statenews.com/article.phtml?pk=12699 - bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8i really feel sorry for you that this doesnt meet your 'news worthy' standards.
Maybe I could ask a couple of guys to slam planes into buildings for ya? - shackleton1, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Technically most, if not all, of those people were advocates of political religion:
