- nobody98, on 11/07/2009, -1/+7With the full support of America Britain and Israel.
- LonesomeFighter, on 11/07/2009, -0/+5it's hardly worth saying "again". or what i mean, it's a war zone and it's no shock the enemies are going to target those sent out to target them.
- nullcodes, on 11/07/2009, -2/+5Make no mistake, Pakistan is winning this. They are regaining and holding lots of territory. They need to keep up the momentum. It will take them a year or two, but they will clear out these militants. The key to holding the territory is to capture any fundamentalist whackos in every village .. usually the local villagers know who the toruble makers are. After all they do nothing but upset the local population, especially the women. The Pakistani army is following the same approach Sri Lanka used against the far more lethal and suicidal LTTE terrorists. These offensives take time .. it took the Sri Lankan army a few years to wipe of the LTTE.
- bhongi, on 11/07/2009, -6/+9The fact is pakistanis will always be intolerant of other religions and cultures. The nation was founded on the basis of intolerance and by a people who chose not to be secular and exacted bloody revenge on those who chose non-violence and amity amongst religions. So even the so called educated moderates in pakistan have no alternative but to support the thread of intolerance that binds their nation together. Deep in their hearts they know that to reject religious extremism is to reject the very foundation of their country. It is a sad and schizophrenic existence that consumes their religion, politics, and discourse.
What you see happening there today is the destructive implosion of a self loathing bastard child that is pakistan. The soulless dismemberment of a suicide bomber being carried out on the world stage. - nullcodes, on 11/07/2009, -4/+6You're full of *****. Pakistan was fairly secular and moving even more towards secularization in the 80s .. hell they even elected a WOMAN prime minister to lead their country.
- joshua911, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2always...yeh thats right, always fuking buy a bullet proof windows!...
- BotchaMcCoola, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Go for it. But if you rip-off US taxpayers for this ***** don't expect any favors (or a job or a loan.).
- Iceman21, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Then what the ***** happened?
- veritasXE, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Buried for Hindu Fanatics
- BotchaMcCoola, on 11/07/2009, -1/+2US Military attacks on Muslim countries – is it a good strategy to deal with terrorism?
- noizrellik, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Fighting terrorism is just a ploy the US government uses to invade Muslim countries.
In Iraq the real reason we are there is oil.
In Afghanistan it is all about the natural gas pipeline they are going to build through there to bypass Russia.
Look no further. That is the REAL reason we are there.
- sanman, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1America and Britain would have stood to benefit, but I'm not sure that Israel would have had a reason to favor the training of Islamic militants who would naturally consider Israel a key enemy.
Certainly, Pakistan had a prime motivation to indoctrinate the Pashtun militants with as much fanatical fundamentalist Islam as possible, because Pakistan's goal has always been to suppress Pashtun ethnic nationalism (which poses a separatist threat to Pakistan) using pan-Islamist ideology as a glue (ie. all Muslims united under one banner against the infidel - therefore no need for internal ethnic separatism)
The Pakistanis took full advantage of the war against Moscow to give maximum support to hateful rabid fanaticism to suppress local ethnic problems, while spinning it to Washington, London, etc as a better way to defeat the Soviets. - sanman, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1where are the Hindu fanatics at Fort Hood? Any Hindus go on shooting sprees in the US lately? Any Hindus hijack any airliners yet, or crashed them into the skyline of NYC or any other major city? Any Hindus blow up the London subways yet, or the Madrid train station? Any Hindus shooting at Indian army officers? Any Hindus demanding unlimited aid from the US, warning that otherwise the terrorists could win, if that aid isn't provided?
What's the percentage of non-Muslim minorities in Pakistan, as compared to the percentage of minorities in India? How well have minorities survived in Pakistan?
How many Hindu gunmen have snuck across the border into a major Pakistani city to go on a terror spree there, burning down major hotels? There were Pakistanis who did that to India, and guess what - Pakistan refuses to extradite any of their leaders.
Being Pakistani - how much credibility do you expect your statements to have? Got any swampland you're looking to sell here? - sanman, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1@nullcodes,
Pakistan has always been anti-secular, because it was founded on the basis of religion (ie. infidel Hindooos are evil oppressors, therefore Muslims must have their own state to practice Islam)
The name Pakistan means "Land of the Pure" (ie. land of the pure faith - meaning that the other faiths aren't)
Pakistan's full formal name is "The Islamic Republic of Pakistan" not "The Republic of Pakistan" or "The Secular Republic of Pakistan"
The fact that you think otherwise shows that Muslims have lower standards on secularism in comparison to others. I find your statements to be low on credibility. - sanman, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1who is this "we" you speak of, my Pakistani friend?
- sanman, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Not really - Pakistan makes inroads against one tribe by making alliances with another tribe, even if that tribe is strongly supportive of the Taliban and AlQaeda. Pakistan doesn't care about going after tribes that are a threat to the rest of the world, they only care about going after tribes that are a threat to Pakistan and are defying the Pakistani central govt's authority. And to justify this strategy, they just use doubletalk by claiming that you have to talk to some Taliban to defeat other Taliban. Meanwhile the war gets bogged down due to Pakistani half-measures and duplicity, which they argue is the fault of Western goals of attacking Taliban.
The Pakistanis have got quite a racket going - a real protection racket.
"Give us unlimited aid -- OR THE TERRORISTS WIN!"
It's a blackmail game. - veritasXE, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1lol Pakistan was founded as a secular republic.
It only became an Islamic Republic as a way to break away from the commonwealth.
Compared to the countries around it...ie. India (filled with Hindu fanatics), Afghanistan (filled with Taliban) and Iran(filled with Shia fanatics)....Pakistan is fairly liberal - spec209, on 11/07/2009, -3/+3i c all the Indians are sharing their open minds and loving hearts.
/s - noizrellik, on 11/08/2009, -0/+0"We" = US government
