Gun sale background check leads to arrest of murder suspect

dailypress.com — This man tried to buy a gun in Norfolk, VA, but his background check turned up with an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and will soon be extradited to Maryland, where his warrant was issued after the murder of an 18-year-old.

  • inactive, on 10/26/2008, -0/+2With over 20,000 laws regulating firearms on the books, enforcing those we already have is a lot more effective than chasing political smoke and mirrors to impose greater restrictions on honest citizens. In fact, it is probably 90% of the laws in this field are worthless poppycock. The formula is simple - make the penalties for criminal activity stiff, enforce the law and penalize the criminals. It's not the firearms which cause the crime, it's the criminal who uses a firearm in the course of committing a crime.
