Gruesome Rape/Murder: Girlfriend forced to shoot boyfriend?

knoxnews.com — Last year, a young Tennessee couple was carjacked. Then followed a sheer hell of rape, torture, and murder. As if that weren't bad enough, new testimony indicates that the girlfriend, Channon Christian, was forced to shoot her own boyfriend.

Boyd is the disgusting piece of human filth who turned around in court, grinned at the victim's family, and mouthed "Bring it on!" to them.

        But to summarize, Channon Christian and her boyfriend, Christopher Newsom were cajacked by a couple of thugs, then taken to a house where Channon was gang-raped, choked, tortured and bound in January 2007 before being stuffed inside a trash can while still alive. Christopher was tied up, gagged, wrapped in cloth, shot in the back, shot in the neck, and finally shot in the head (and as this recent article shows, Channon may have been forced to do the shooting). Then, his body was doused with gasoline and set on fire.

      The fact that the perpetrators of this crime, sick ***** every last one of them, socialized with and dated white people (one of the perpetrators was hidden after the crime by his white girlfriend...a daughter of a police officer no less) was enough to show it was probably not a hate crime.

      If you expect to be informed of EVERY rape or murder that happens be prepared to not have much spare time left over...idiots. If the guys who did this were still at large I'd understand the imperative to have the public aware...the fact is these ***** are behind bars and are looking to be there for a very long time, and too ***** right. To twist it to be some sort of racial case is just ***** stupid.

It was sick, but prompted local outcry when the media avoided the topic, allegedly because the victims were white and the perpetrators were black, saying that if the race roles were reversed, there would be national media attention.

If I remember correctly, this happened about the same time as the Duke lacrosse team scandal which was all you could see on the news. For some reason the story of two white college kids getting gang raped, tortured and murdered isn't as big news as (false) allegations that upper class white kids gang raped a black stripper. I guess it doesn't fit nicely into the world view that only whites are capable of racism or hate crime (something that I've heard people say on several occasion, which is completely ridiculous).

Trauma doesn't make you put bullets in people you love, maybe she really didn't like him that much to begin with who knows. There is very little that can be taken away from this article other than some f-ed up stuff happened to these poor people and much of it wasn't covered by the media because it was more socially convenient to cover the false allegations of the white on black crime at Duke vs. this horrendous black on white crime.
