- rmokhtar, on 01/05/2009, -15/+124People who role their eyes, whenever someone talks about the root cause of terrorism, should watch AlJazeera and understand how the terrorism of tomorrow starts from today's massacres. You kill a man's whole family, and expect him to stay at home, docile, to go about his daily life like nothing happened. Wake up people.

Yes, we learned this technique from Israel to suppress the press in war environments by targeting reporters.
In Iraq over 130 reporters have been killed or injured, mostly by US military.
Israeli Mossad agents were in Iraq teaching our military their techniques for their type of warfare.
The IDF regularly targets peace protesters & journalists & has for many years.
FYI: This is a fascist technique.
Know your history people, CNN will not do your homework for you.
- JoeParanoid, on 01/05/2009, -16/+74It's what we do. The number of journalists being targeted has skyrocketed since 2001.
- chrisjj, on 01/06/2009, -17/+49They have a lot of shame and disgrace to try to cover up and they think that by destroying Gaza media outlets and not allowing journalists into Palestinian territory, the world will not discover their shame. Well, believe me - there will be consequences hopefully in the form of a war crimes tribunal.
- MrRobotoSki, on 01/06/2009, -21/+51Well surprise, surprise.
Israel can do no wrong! We here in the US support Israel 100% because.....wait a second why in the hell are we supporting Israel? They have proven time and time again that they are hypocrites that place no value on life unless that life is a Jewish life. It's obvious that they have no respect for the UN or it's laws. - kemp34, on 01/06/2009, -8/+38Yep, it is pure ignorance to ignore the actions of Israel and the U.S., the number of deaths to family members, friends, leaders and just assume no one would be pissed. The whole belligerent mindset is insanity.
- clvngodess, on 01/05/2009, -22/+50I had heard about this. I guess they are taking their lead from the U.S. in Iraq... another wretched occupation. Ugh!
- bushfocker, on 01/05/2009, -19/+46This is not the first time they killed a journalist
http://desertpeace.wordpress.com/2008/04/28/bogus- ... - knodi, on 01/06/2009, -20/+46Now we see the real terrorists.
- elliotys, on 01/06/2009, -9/+32Damn, what a ***** up situation. Am I the first to admit that both sides are right/wrong at the same time. Israel should not be in Gaza. Hamas should not be rocketing Israel. Is Israel being heavy handed? Maybe. Is Hamas hiding among citizens in order to make targeting them harder? Probably. Should we be placing the sole blame on either party? I don't think so.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -6/+29Well, since he won't do your homework for you, I did took upon myself the complex task of googling "130 reporters killed in Iraq." I guess you weren't really that interested in knowing?
http://www.reuters.com/article/featuredCrisis/idUS ...
"Reporters Without Borders has called the Iraq war the deadliest conflict for journalists since World War Two, with 213 journalists and support workers killed since 2003."
It's AMAZING what you can find in 30 seconds, instead of asking someone else. - yacinebouatrous, on 01/05/2009, -24/+46Americans better wake up
- pintomp3, on 01/06/2009, -27/+49Israel did the same thing in Jenin:

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2009/01/02/news/ML- ... - muzfuz, on 01/06/2009, -2/+21BTW its true that over 130 iraqi journalists have been killed, but most of them have been attacked by insurgents, not americans.
It is true, however, that the IDF quite often shoots at journalists. For example, in 2008 they killed a Reuters cameraman, who was in a truck marked TV in huge letters. He was filming a tank in Gaza, and it shot at his vehicle.
You can watch a documentary about him and other journalists, "Shooting the Messenger."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gOpp-zcFUA - knodi, on 01/06/2009, -14/+28If Israel can stop stealing there land and treating them like they live in war camps they wouldn't have to fight back any way they can. Israel the 4th largest Military power in the world with nuclear weapons and force fully taken over 90% of Palestine in the last 40 years.

- mksmothers, on 01/06/2009, -2/+15I agree. Both are wrong. Israel and Gaza are like religious abused teenagers with guns. Israel shouldn't be treating Gaza as inhuman and Gaza shouldn't be committing terrorist acts. It is time for the adults to take charge.
- muzfuz, on 01/06/2009, -1/+13List of all journalists killed, all over the world, and who killed them, all the way back to 1997
http://www.freemedia.at/cms/ipi/deathwatch.html - inactive, on 01/06/2009, -8/+18The self-perpetuating cycle of violence you describe is job security for the defense industry, which most super-wealthy people are part of, directly or indirectly. It's not stupidity on the part of our policy makers, it's a business tactic.
- kemp34, on 01/06/2009, -11/+21Man, Gaza is dominated by Israel in a FULL SPECTRUM way. They cannot have military bases - they will be destroyed. They can barely have police stations - they will be destroyed. They have been subject to an oppressive TOTAL blockade for a good amount of time now. They are wholly oppressed. There is no strategy they can employ to seriously defend themselves in any tangible way. If you think they purposely try to get children killed, I think you are a fool who believes some serious propaganda.
- garryw, on 01/06/2009, -1/+10The UN has no executive branch, no army, so they are not respectable in a military sense. Just a bunch of ambassidors.
When the %$it hits the fan you either have an army or are irrelevant. - Tynan, on 01/06/2009, -0/+8If Israel wanted to kill civilians, they could do a lot better than 400.
So what's the better explanation?
A. Israel decides to intentionally kill some civilians. So they kill 400 and leave it at at that. They gain no strategic advantage (since this number is a tiny fraction of the Palestinian population), and a huge PR backlash.
B. Israel, in hunting terrorists who deliberately hide among women and children to maximize civilian casualties, accidentally blows up some innocents.
If you think Israel is deliberately killing innocents, explain how that makes sense as a strategy. - pintomp3, on 01/06/2009, -5/+13Jon Stewart broke it down beautifully last night:

One school was empty
One school was firing rockets at Israeli troops from INSIDE the school. Israel fired back OUTSIDE the school
The third school had two adult deaths
So where is your outrage that Hamas was firing rockets from inside a school? - foopirata, on 01/06/2009, -2/+10http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Artic ...
"PRECISELY A MONTH AGO, on April 8, the Palestinian news agency Wafa was reporting that Israel had committed the "massacre of the 21st century" in the Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin. "Medical sources" informed Wafa of "hundreds of martyrs." This was a lie, concocted not only for local consumption--to keep the Palestinian people whipped up in a patriotic, Israel-hating frenzy--but mostly for export to the West.
[..]
No, this was an all-out assault on the truth. There was a pitched battle in Jenin. But the "hundreds" of martyrs were a cynical invention. The death toll was 56 Palestinians, the majority of them combatants, and 23 Israeli soldiers." - DreadPirate, on 01/06/2009, -2/+10Pintomp3 - You just love to swollow anything Hamas or Fatah say, don't you? The Jenin "massacre" was proven to be a hoax years ago - at lest *try* to keep up, would you?

- DefenceMinister, on 01/06/2009, -0/+7Yea because that's how the cycle started, it was all peaceful and nice before 1993 when Hamas got angry and sent suicide bombers to Israel. It's so simple and easy to take.
- shayben, on 01/06/2009, -1/+8Have you not read my entire comment?
This is precisely my point, why Israel will not allow forign media into a war zone, to avoid having to explain once these reporters break into disinformation and report on military secrets to why they are stifled.
Furthermore, before destroying these infrastructures Israel ALWAYS announces, as a rule, which targets will be taken down to avoid civilian casualties. Israel is always judged under extreme moral standards in the eyes of the world and is doing everything possible to avoid "crimes of war".
And if you compare the propeganda machine of the Hamas to Israel's media, you have no idea what goes on in the middle east.
If you havent read anything of the second lebanon war, let me fill you in on the fact that the Israeli media critisized the government's every move and probably cost us the public perception of victory in this battle.
On the opposite side, the Hamas has a weekly TV show for children starring a guy in a bunny suit that is talking about killing all jews.
Assymetrical dont you think? - foopirata, on 01/06/2009, -1/+7Oh, sorry, didn't know we were comparing sources and not messages. Here, have another one:

I supplied a short list of death tolls. The full one is out there. As you can see from the list, the U.S. military is not responsible for many listed.
Are you asking me to provide you with the full list? Are you really that ***** lazy?
Jesus, this is a country of fat, lazy whiners. Even when I SAY someone is too lazy to research on their own, some other lazy ***** comes in and complains I didn't do ENOUGH research for them.

- Maddoktor2, on 01/06/2009, -2/+8shhh...stop posting facts - it only pisses off the antisemites who are gulping down the hamas propaganda agenda like kool-aid...
- Pake, on 01/06/2009, -2/+8"it's against international law to kill civilians."
It's also against international law to use civilians as meat shields, which continues to be done by Hamas. This is why Israel is able to get away with it. If Hamas stopped using citizens as shields and Israel then killed citizens, more ***** would be done about it.
I don't support either side, because both are quite ignorant and retarded, but the facts are facts and Israel can't be punished for killing citizens when Hamas acts as it does. - talula76, on 01/06/2009, -1/+6Hey, if anyone's missing Hamas TV, here are some of their excellent shows.

Hamas stated goal is the annihilation of Israel, and the death of all Jews. Would that satisfy you? - ahhell, on 01/06/2009, -3/+8That robot sounds smarter than you...more coherent too.
- Nosferotu, on 01/06/2009, -2/+7At the risk of setting off those "ZOMG ZIONISTS!" retards, I have to say that the whole Israel/Palestine conflict really seems like a run-down nation with one bad egg that controls the government (Palestine) doing some minor threatening toward Israel, then Israel beating the hell out of Palestine over and over again. How can anyone NOT think Palestine has a little bit of a point with their situation? This heavy-handed backing of Israel by America needs to stop - we have to consider the needs and valid arguments that both sides have.
- weeFred, on 01/06/2009, -1/+6Hamas have a history of using vehicles marked as press or medic to transport and fire rockets from. Why not blame the people who are responsible? Why doesn't Hamas get together an army, get out in an open battlefield and then attack Israel? They need to stop being cowards and hiding behind women and kids.
- tjex, on 01/06/2009, -1/+6Well said, though Hamas is part of the government and run schools, hospitals etc... hard to not be part of the gaza citizens.
What is happening in Gaza is ugly and it wont end well for either side. They both lost on this. - Midtowner, on 01/06/2009, -5/+10The statement was that most of those reporters were killed by US military.
