:( Thanks for all the awesome comics.- MiddleGirth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Darn that doughboy with his buttery, flaky goodness!
- stevenstclair, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I met him and got his autograph on a green lantern card. He was a nice guy.
- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I have nothing but good things to say about him.
He ALWAYS. I mean ALWAYS was at the Motor City Convention in Novi Michigan.
No matter what his health he was there. He LOVED his fans. He was a nice old man. He will be greatly missed. In the last 15 years I've been attending the Motor City Con he has been there. Rain, snow, sleet or hail, wheelchair, cane or whatever. Martin Nodel was there. RIP old man. - Anliz, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4He lived a long and apparently fulfilling life
RIP- ankyhbk, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4just like your comment will live a short and apparently useless life.
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1......
- ankyhbk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Lets all pay Mr. Nodell additional homage and not argue about who the best Green Lantern was, please.
Cheers.- Cruelapollo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2There's no need to argue, everyone knows the best Green Lantern was Kyle Rayner.
- MiDri, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Lex Luther baby! Just because he was EVIL!
- jayfarer, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1I'm a pretty good Green Lantern.
- Swifti, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Yes, I agree. Let's not argue.
As a result, Hal Jordan wins by default. - gaijin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't know about the best Green Lantern, but the best storyline was Ganthet's Tale scripted by Larry Niven. Period.
- Rayor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Larry Niven? The same Larry Niven that Nevinyrral's Disk is named after?
Geekdom sure is a small world. - gaijin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yes, and the same Larry Niven who wrote Ringworld which inspired the backdrop for Halo. If you like hard science in your science fiction, read anything by Mr. Niven.
- sandbagger, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1G'NORT!
- MediaShipper, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Pinochet created the Green Lantern?...huh...he's not so bad after all.
- steveoco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1091 is a good run, r.i.p mate
- MiDri, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1Ya 91 is a good time to go, that is when i figure my bowls are going to start going.
On a side note, did they find traces of yellow substances in his blood? I smell galactic espionage.
- MiDri, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1Ya 91 is a good time to go, that is when i figure my bowls are going to start going.
- amoirae, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5A good and talented man who will be missed.
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -20/+1Hey guys, what is Green Lantern? I tried googling but all I get is this comic thing that has the same name as the Green Lantern
- Skizzot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Are you serious or are you trying to be funny?
- cosmotic, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1Pretty lame hero if you asked me... a magic ring. wow.
- MiDri, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Magic ring yes, but the poor man could not fight against yellow! You could whup his ass with a caution sign, that is a huge character flaw -- that stuff appeals to people.
- flizzoyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10The original Green Lantern's ring didn't work against wood.
- limitbreakerx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Wow MiDri, how do you even start typing stuff without making sure you're not just spouting nonsense? That weakness against yellow could be dealt with in creative ways. You think you could kick the Green Lantern's ass just by wearing a yellow jump suit? Yeah okay. Besides, yellow objects are no longer a problem anymore. I'll let you do a quick check on wikipedia to find out why.
- zetec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The green lanterns no longer have weakness against yellow, they haven't for some time. Go back to watching Superfriends.
- LrdEclpse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6The Green Lantern was one of my favorite comics growing up. To this day, I wear a ring carved of sterling silver with the lantern image. It reminds me that I can do anything I put my mind to doing. It is amazing how one man can effect and influence so many others without ever knowing them or even meeting them.
- diggadong, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4They don't carve silver rings you clown.
And seriously. Drop the comic book ring or you will die a virgin... - MiddleGirth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"They don't carve silver rings you clown"
Well, they carve the wax.
- diggadong, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4They don't carve silver rings you clown.
- SuperSloth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14"In brightest day, in blackest night,
no evil shall escape my sight.
Let those who worship evil's might
beware my power... Green Lantern's light!" - artmonster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4As a professional comic book artist myself, Mr. Nodell, I offer my unending gratitude for paving the way.
Thanks.- brad06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What do you work on?
- Face3000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yes not the Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner or John Stewart, Guy Gardner Green Lantern but he classic Alan Scott :)

THey only gave him that moniker so they could call Kyle "The only Green Lantern". He's now not a GL at all of course, so he took the name back, and is now called Green Lantern in Justice Society of America.
- BrownV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Rest in Peace
- ra3ndy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I met him at a con in St.Louis once. He was such a genuinely nice person. If the line at his table was short, he'd sit there and tell you stories about the industry in its early days.
He told me that one of his greatest regrets was that he never bought himself a copy of All American Comics #16, the first Green Lantern book. "That was just my day job." he said.
I wish I could secure my place in history with "just my day job". - SaintStryfe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"And I shall shed my light over dark evil,
For the dark things cannot stand the light,
the light of the Green Lantern!" - zilog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Still a great read. Thank you.
http://www.pulllist.com/comic/dc_comics/green_lantern - HsoKinees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that sucks :( i recently started watching the Justice League cartoon.. the green lantern is a great character ^^ but i wonder why he looks like the hulk in the opening video
- PaulJohns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I met Mr. Nodell and is wife, both were very sweet, and let me take pics with him as well as signed a comic, and drew me a pic of a green lantern next to his signature. Awesome guy, he will be greatly missed.
