- Felix1085, on 08/15/2008, -2/+39The U.S. had over 1 thousand military advisors in the weeks leading up to the Georgian attack on Ossetia. Coincidence?
And the U.S. media is the mouthpiece of the never-ending war Neocons. Bush, McSame, Obomba, they are all the same- caferrell, on 08/15/2008, -1/+7With all those advisers there, what are the odds that we didn't know ahead of time? About the same as winning the lottery..........
- EatingPie, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2Okay, so we knew about it ahead of time. What were we supposed to do? Tell Georgia not to attack Ossetia? Tell Russia not to attack Georgia?
And given that these are sovereign nations, that would have made how much difference? Maybe some in Georgia, absolutely none in Russia?
Either way, it still seems to be the US's fault?
-Pie- DigzDogg, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1>Tell Georgia not to attack Ossetia?
well.. why not? - SethEllis, on 08/15/2008, -1/+2EatingPie always comes up with great points that nobody else seems to get. Yeah the US has been helping Georgia for years. The US and Israel have been providing Georgia with military advisers even. That doesn't prove one bit that the US actually provoked it. This is just one further instance of Bush derangement syndrome

When asked the question "prove that Gerogia is at fault here" all I seem to hear is "because Russia said so". As if anything Russia could say could possibly be trusted. We're talking about a country that has threatened to use NUKES against some of our allies (Poland), and you're taking their side:

You're more guilty of picking and choosing information to your own agenda more than what you are accusing CNN of doing! You guys seriously need to wake up. We're heading down a path that could possibly lead to a nuclear World War III, and all you care about is how much you hate Bush?
- DigzDogg, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1>Tell Georgia not to attack Ossetia?
- Thinbev, on 08/15/2008, -1/+32This is crazy! I wish I kept a screen shot of this article.
Here's a link to an article from MSNBC.com that was released on July 15'th that explained how the Americans conducted war games with the Georgians. Now it's removed. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25684774/ (Read the title of the page)
Don't forget that Georgia attacked the Ossetian civilians on August 8'th (during the Olympic opening ceremony
We are being ***** about this war.
EDIT: I found another website that copied and pasted the MSNBC article. Here it is:
http://aftermathnews.wordpress.com/2008/07/16/us-a ...
Notice that these war games took place weeks before August 8'th, the day Georgia attacked the Ossetian citizens.- kemp34, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8Damn, that is nuts that it was pulled.
- rhabd0mancer, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1It was a Reuters story. It wasn't "pulled", it expired.
- SaraLiberty, on 08/16/2008, -1/+6"We are being ***** about this war."
That much is indeed 100% absolutely certain without any shadow of a doubt. The 4th estate controlled media is complicit. As they are in all of their scams. A propaganda wing to market the plan. Nothing more.
What haven't they ***** us about? They got Rice bouncing around all the usual-suspect wasteland controlled networks marketing the lies, selling their product to dumbed-down American couch-lackey consumers in TV dummy land, former-USA.
The PNAC schemers seek to blame Russia despite the facts. That's the plan. We are sold lies. Business as usual. I switched on the TV earlier to click thru channels and see what's going on the controlled networks and ALL of them were touting Russia as aggressor, Russia started it, Russia is the problem, "Bush demands Russia back out" "Russia fired first shot' Russia human rights violations against Georgia' 'Georgia just wants peace and Russia won't allow it" Russia-the 'cold war' paradox, Russia is the anti-christ!" "Russia is the cause of all the worlds problems" "Russia could be harboring terrorists!" and on an on till the point of vomiting. All the while showing close-up video of Georgia civilians crying by the streets and mourning loved ones to REALLY kick up selling the propaganda on an emotional level. That's what really gets to American consumers to buy the war-product sham they are marketing. Yet why don't the controlled 4th estate networks do similar with Iraq? Or Afghanistan? Show their civilians crying, mourning loss of loved ones as they bleed by the roadside like yesterday's garbage. I think we know the answer to that by now..No need for that since the story doesn't fit the plan.
The MSM controlled news is a wasteland of sold out puppets, paid for talking pundits reading Pentagon press releases, lies, cover-up, dumbed down "info-tainment," rumors with corporate sponsors & blatant disinformation to the extreme (then there's a good side!) Next up: Britney's child custody battle update with live photos of Anna Nicoles corpse! Stay tuned for the latest celebrity updates with the newest 'kidnapping mystery' and "politician "sex scandal" for you idiots to concern yourselves with. Distract, divide and conquer. Here, here's American Gladiators. Watch this. Shut up. Go back to sleep America. - DigzDogg, on 08/15/2008, -0/+0http://current.com/items/89202028_u_s_georgia_trai ...
U.S.-Georgia training begins amid Russia strain
Officials: Exercises unrelated to friction between Moscow, ex-Soviet state
VAZIANI, Georgia - One thousand U.S. troops began a military training exercise in Georgia on Tuesday against a backdrop of growing friction between Georgia and neighboring Russia.
Officials said the exercise, called "Immediate Response 2008," had been planned for months and was not linked to a stand-off between Moscow More.. and Tbilisi over two Russian-backed separatists regions of Georgia.
The United States is an ally of Georgia and has irritated Russia by backing Tbilisi's bid to join the NATO military alliance.
"The main purpose of these exercises is to increase the cooperation and partnership between U.S. and Georgian forces," Brig. Gen. William B. Garrett, commander of the U.S. military's Southern European Task Force, told reporters.
The war games involve 600 Georgian troops and smaller numbers from ex-Soviet Armenia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
The two-week exercise was taking place at the Vaziani military base near the capital Tbilisi, which was a Russian air force base until Russian forces withdrew at the start of this decade under a European arms reduction agreement.
Close cooperation
Georgia and the Pentagon cooperate closely. Georgia has a 2,000-strong contingent supporting the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq, and Washington provides training and equipment to the Georgian military.
Georgia last week recalled its ambassador in Moscow in protest at Russia sending fighter jets into Georgian airspace. Tbilisi urged the West to condemn Russia's actions.
Russia said the flights were to prevent Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili from launching a military operation against the separatist South Ossetia region.
Moscow accuses Saakashvili of preparing to restore Tbilisi's control over South Ossetia and the second breakaway region of Abkhazia by force. Tbilisi says that is a pretext for Russia to effectively annex large chunks of Georgian territory. - FrankHope, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1I posted the article you mentioned to Digg.

- unlawflcombatnt, on 08/15/2008, -1/+22Thinbev,
Thanks for posting the link to aftermathnews. MSNBC apparently removed the story to protect the guilty.
It's real hard to claim the US wasn't egging on the Georgians when they conducted war games right in Russia's backyard in mid-July. How would we feel if the Russians conducted war games in Cuba or Mexico?- Thinbev, on 08/15/2008, -1/+8Exactly! This entire situation was planned way ahead of time. Don't get me wrong, the Russian government sucks, but our media and government are clearly trying to stir something up with Russia.
America should stop meddling with other countries and we should just mind our own business. These wars only benefit a few very wealthy people and screw over every American citizen. No American will benefit from war.- kemp34, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8I agree 100%. The PEOPLE never gain from wars started by calculating crazies.

- dehaxor, on 08/15/2008, -6/+6Gorbachev is great american *****, but now he is right :)
- oPoTyKaH, on 08/15/2008, -14/+2Gorbachev has always been irrelevant.
- CoolHandLuke70, on 08/15/2008, -2/+16It is very simple to understand that Georgia was the the aggressor. They cut off the water to S. Ossetia for over a month in a ramp up to what was their genocidal offensive that they attempted to wage while the Olympics were occurring! Russia was totally in the right, and polite too!
- MarkEarhart, on 08/15/2008, -10/+5More "horse *****"!!! Gorbachev has his own little NWO foundation in San Francisco, which totally discredits anything he has to say. And getting news from CNN? Give me a break!!!
- SaraLiberty, on 08/16/2008, -2/+14CNN = Controlled News Network (as the rest)
- insearch1, on 08/15/2008, -1/+5CNN and Saakashvili were caught on lying about Georgian Gori city that was "boombed" , here is the proof Gori is still there: http://www.russiatoday.com/news/news/29033/video
- PolishLogic, on 08/15/2008, -0/+6Give it enough time. Saakashvili will hang himself in terms of his relations with the US. He's already been kicking Russia then hiding behind us. Now, he's badmouthing the US as well for not giving him enough support. He'll ***** himself and we'll sit there and watch it happen. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Then Russia will wind up with some more prime real estate along the Black Sea and all those ex-Georgians as a whole will be better off.
If you remember nothing else about the Cold War, just remember that we had a tendency to cast ***** little nations like Georgia to the wolves the minute they got lippy. The last thing the US or Russia would ever want is to be pushed into a direct conflict. This has been proven time and time again. - richmomz, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3You tell 'em Gorby! I'm glad that the other side of this story is getting a little airtime as well because western media coverage of this crisis has been terrible.
And - he really should have that thing on his head looked at :p - swrostmore, on 08/15/2008, -1/+1Gorbachev's opinion isn't exactly unbiased.
War nerds might want to check out some unbiased photographs of the conflict.
http://digg.com/world_news/Photo_Essay_Russian_Arm ... - algaeturd, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3Bush just came out and threatened Russia for 'bullying.'
HA! People in this country are ***** retarded to listen to this man at this point. WE'RE accusing a country of BULLYING another country?
The little boy who cried wolf just cried one too many times and people are starting to wise up. Americans have to realize at this point they have no respect and demand very little attention at this point in history. There was a time when America could stand up, make a comment and be respected and feared with regard to what they had to say.
Now, Bush might as well be giving his speech in a restroom somewhere by himself because nobody is buying it anymore and the only idiots who do buy his ***** are too dumb to be a threat anymore. FOX *****. - greeniemeani, on 08/15/2008, -1/+2In Soviet Russia, Georgia provokes YOU.
- insomniac8400, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2With John McCain being in the pocket book of Georgia, we are screwed if he is the next president. Bush is supposedly best friends with Putin, yet he still is leaning Georgian because of their oil pipeline. McCain clearly already put it out there that he is 100% in support of Georgia and is willing to cause WW3 against Russia. Plane and simple, John McCain means war with Russia. If you have seen the tv show Jericho, you can understand how bad a war with another nuclear power will be.
