- angrytortilla, on 11/09/2009, -1/+107Spoiler: there are no pictures of said bikini-clad Iranian women.
- captininsanity, on 11/10/2009, -5/+50America is by far the most conservative 1st world country that doesn't have Islamic law. Lets see:
-Drinking age 21, illegal on Sundays in some states
-Nudity is a sin/crime
-Homosexuality and various consensual sex practices illegal (not enforced, old law on the books)
-Last 1st world country to end slavery
-Highest imprison rate per-capita other than country
-Number 5 biggest executor in the world. (right behind North Korea)
The list can go on... I feel there is something seriously wrong with this... - elryanoo, on 11/10/2009, -1/+38Oooh i can see an elbow.
- Leonffs, on 11/20/2009, -0/+25Don't let what you see on TV fool you. The Iranian youth are some of the most free spirited and rebellious kids on earth. Just go look up pics from those election protests. The girls there all wear makeup and jewelry despite the laws against them.
- sonicpentatonic, on 11/10/2009, -0/+22saved me a click
- PlatnumPlatypus, on 11/10/2009, -0/+20I've been to beaches abroad where Muslim-influenced women have enjoyed the beach in their gowns. Regardless of how heavy that black gown is and how hot the sun might be, they'll dive in have fun just like everyone else.
Nonethless, Middle-Eastern/Mediterranean women are some of the most gorgeous women in the world. Olive skin, colored eyes -voluptuous. Too bad some are covered up in black gowns. - Propethic, on 11/10/2009, -3/+22I want to beat her I'm so aroused
- catalysis, on 11/10/2009, -2/+20In America, one of the Christian world's most conservative countries, women are forced to cover portions of their bodies deemed unacceptable to be seen in public. Failure to abide by these laws can result in imprisonment.
- captininsanity, on 11/10/2009, -0/+18The fact you can get away with with an illegal activity does not constitute freedom...
- GregLoire, on 11/10/2009, -5/+22BUT FREEDOM!! We have no idea what it even means, but goddammit, America has FREEDOM!!
- GregLoire, on 11/10/2009, -2/+16Silly Iran! So conservative with your women that they can't even wear bikinis on most beaches! Man, it must really suck to live in a country so uptight that women can't even be free to-- whoa, wait, what don't women have to wear at European beaches?
- PainToad, on 11/10/2009, -1/+14People will digg you down, but will not justify it.
- quaxon, on 11/10/2009, -0/+13There's no law against wearing make-up, and thus a lot of young girls pile it on, as it's one of the only ways they can express themselves, and end up looking like a clown. I know this because i was just there 2 months ago.
We also took a weekend trip up north to the Caspian Sea (where this article is about) and it really did feel weird to be on a beach without anybody in baithing suits. Especially since we stopped over in Austria before going to Iran and the 'beaches' on the Danube are mostly topless/careless. - audiophile214, on 11/10/2009, -6/+18Stay classy, Islam.

- ifruit, on 11/10/2009, -4/+12Honor kill that slut. For her own good.
- slyzxx, on 11/10/2009, -1/+8Burkini is the solution.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6945252342 ... - captininsanity, on 11/10/2009, -0/+7@hardtoconfuse I'm not saying were less free than China, but the entire EU has freedom of speech as well. Also the best way to keep a population under control is to make the citizens in fear of the authority. Making people outcasts or criminals for things that they do out of choice (not hurting others) does this.
Also America has a higher percentage of it's citizens in jail than any other country... period... - Clodhopper, on 11/10/2009, -1/+8hanged
- quaxon, on 11/10/2009, -2/+8This is not true. In Iran, the mass majority (i'd say 85+%) of people over the age of 40 are conservative Muslims and welcome a government that is tied in with religion. It is the younger generation that is starting to veer from this line of thought. Much like the US where we have an older generation who still clings to their fairy tales and wants to base our government on their religion, with a younger generation who is more liberal and ready to progress.
- appleseed1234, on 11/10/2009, -9/+14Careful! According to good old Sharia, men can't control themselves when women expose their skin, and are acquitted since they cannot account for their actions when they stand trial for rape! Religion of peace ftw!
And ***** the Bible humpers here too, I demand European style topless beaches. - fr0ng, on 11/10/2009, -1/+6They must have crappy tanlines.
- phogasmic, on 11/10/2009, -1/+5That makes me so mad, the woman in that part of the world are very pretty but we never get to see them.
- diggB, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3I hope they use at least SPF 50.
- dstz, on 11/10/2009, -1/+4"but the entire EU has freedom of speech as well"
In France we don't have to right to put illegal drugs under a good light, hate speech is strongly restricted, holocaust denial is prohibited, any sort of criticizing of public figures, even truthful, can be punished in court, but we have "freedom of speech". Sort of. - nikedude, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2its stunning to think like that...
at least here they stay in the kitchen - apothekari, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2mmmmmmmmmmmmm....colored eyes.
- dtfinch, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2Kind of like walled-off nude beaches elsewhere, but with bikinis and no men allowed.
- NoBSMan, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2I think I prefer this http://images.google.com.au/images?q=beach+brazil& ...
- tankenka, on 11/10/2009, -3/+4Buried for a distinct lack of bikini
- ThanatosST, on 11/10/2009, -1/+2God, I've loved Catherine Bell ever since I watched JAG on TV with my dad.
I'm pretty sure he knew exactly what he was doing making me watch that show with him. - ampdj89, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1Must be the most boring beach.
- omniiv, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1no pics, no click. booo
- Phosphan, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1Topless bathing/sunbathing is not as popular in Europe as it was. Only a rather small percentage of women does it, and a majority of the population (yes, men included) does not like it.
- joshmoney, on 11/10/2009, -1/+1@hardtoconfuse
To be fair, the US is one of the world leaders when it comes to issues of free speech. Hitchen's has praised the US for this many times as well. There are still many countries in the EU and other parts of the world where you can still be arrested for saying or publishing something bad about certain races or religions, speaking out against the government, denying the holocaust etc. However when it comes to incarcerating it's own citizens, the US has a disgusting track record, most of it due to the governments illegal drug war and the accompanying network of privatized prison system mobsters and lobbyist. - PainToad, on 11/10/2009, -4/+3Until they get caught and hung?
- wondertwins, on 11/10/2009, -1/+1Ah Brazil, where Aphrodite had babies.
- WiseGuy1020, on 11/10/2009, -3/+2The UK does not have complete freedom of speech. Ever heard of a "D-notice"?
- jr1966, on 11/10/2009, -1/+0Some Americans are Free, the rest of the population are black, espanic, chinese, Gay, Lesbian,Muslim, Buddist and Poor
- allisonV12, on 11/10/2009, -5/+2Good for them, they don't get skin cancer and look like a dried up hag at age 30.
Those Iranians keep the women folk clean and canned
The beach is overrated anyway, most urbanized beach front property is a polluted as Chernobyl, baking on top of the sand next to a asphalt parking lot.
You gotta love it. - americanoboy, on 11/10/2009, -4/+1america is not a 1st world country.
- thepeacemaker, on 11/10/2009, -6/+2the problem is not the differences/similarities in laws but rather the source of the laws. In the US, laws come from the beliefs of people hence the people are more inclined to follow them. In Iran's case, a few people decide what the laws are and therefore people are less inclined to respect those laws.
- TreeWalker, on 11/10/2009, -7/+1so does 99% of the world...and your point is?
- trying2bNice, on 11/10/2009, -8/+1Continuing to repress women is classy?
- hardtoconfuse, on 11/10/2009, -14/+1@captininsanity I'm not saying we are free, but I'm saying Americans do whatever they want to do whenever they want to do it, and don't fear other government or other Americans.
