- agentsarahjane, on 06/09/2008, -0/+5I am concerned about these folks who get taken under these pretenses. What will happen to us if we piss off our best allies? I can't imagine that we are making many friends by these snatch and grab missions - and then cannot get the people we snatch right! I am still a bit ambivalent about the war on terror but is terror in return the answer?
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -0/+3I would like to offer this man my appology as an American and I would like to tell him how ashamed I am of what was done to him in my name. I am sorry, desperately sorry.
The United States used to be looked up to around the world as the example of liberty and justice. Americans were known as brave people who would not compromise our principles in order to (perhaps) improve our security.
Our unfailing respect for liberty and the rule of law spurred movements around the world to replicate what we had done.
No-one is looking up to us anymore. We have traded in our liberty and our justice for safety and shiny gadgets that we buy on credit. - armoreddillo, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1There is no excuse for these kinds of actions,
it's disgusting to think that I'm from a place that tortures people,
not to mention the innocent.
1984 is knocking on our front door
