"Backing"? = War with Russia? - rc22nyrocket, on 08/12/2008, -0/+8This is really starting to get scary, it doesn't look like one of your average everyday conflicts, this is something that could get spark another world war.
- zinc6471, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3can someone clarify, who started it first?

- CoolHandLuke70, on 08/12/2008, -1/+7Georgia decided to use the cover of the 2008 Olympics to commence genocide against Ossettia which is insane since they could not NOT have known that Russia would react!

- XanderDee, on 08/12/2008, -1/+13Georgia started it first by killing Russian citizens!!! Russia is just protecting it's citizens. WTF is going on with the MSM! Oh I forgot all of the MSM is owned by 5 companies and they will tell the truth so I guess I am wrong. /sarcasm.
- mcla007, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2You could be more accurate by saying Georgia started it first by killing South Ossetian citizens and a few Russian peace-keepers. I know most of them hold Russian passports, but you sound as if Georgia invaded Russian territory. Let's leave the spin-doctoring to the official media.
- XanderDee, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1I stand corrected.

- cms9000, on 08/12/2008, -0/+6Why would Georgia, a country that small and weak compared to Russia, start this. Something more is going on and if we, the US, go to war with Russia then that would be the biggest mistake ever. But the good news is that the corporations will profit big time off of such a war. We all know they are broke and need the money, even if it means half the world or more is destroyed in the process.
- Lawofnations, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2Georgia is a U.N. trust property run by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
- lethaloption, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3This is all just political posturing from Bush and a little muscle flexing by Putin and the gang. There will be no war with Russia. Bush is only interested in attacking third world nations that are already on the brink of economic collapse. Nope Bush will just give a few speeches, make faces at the camera, and then privately chuckle to Putin on the private line...
- Kizilbash, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1The Russians have given the Georgians a good slap and seem to be leaving it at that. Don't expect the Georgian government to survive this in the long run though. This is a fiasco of epic proportions for them.
