- thegrantman, on 11/07/2009, -1/+21Gay sex in Bangkok.
- Chooxo, on 11/08/2009, -2/+18If the film wasn't banned for gay sex, why does the article talk about the gay sex so much?
- angrytortilla, on 11/07/2009, -2/+8One step forward, two steps back.
- Jaime2000, on 11/08/2009, -1/+6Bangkok banned *****.
- Infowarsdotcom, on 11/08/2009, -3/+8Doesn't Thailand know you can't have a gay sex film without Thai soldiers detaining Muslims?
Sure you could go the Japanese route and blur out the Thai soldiers detaining Muslims but who really wants to whack it to a blurred blob of colors? - sndream, on 11/08/2009, -0/+4Basically the film get banned for going off-topic.
- isny, on 11/08/2009, -0/+4We come together 'cause opposites attract.
- tsotha, on 11/08/2009, -2/+5I don't see the story here. A film is banned for some politically sensitive scenes. And?
Remember, this is the country where you can (theoretically) go to jail for stepping on money because it has the king's picture on it. - HotLeper, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3so is summary Thai soldiers are detaining muslims for having gay sex?
- HotLeper, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3I know what you did last summer.
- consciousman, on 11/08/2009, -1/+3when is this film going to be shown in the US?
seems very interesting !!! - fwertz, on 11/08/2009, -1/+3And the world's your oyster.
- inactive, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2As long as its not the gay sex, right?
- theghostofme, on 11/08/2009, -1/+3Because some people love to stir up ***** where it doesn't need to be. Even though it says right in the byline that the film wasn't banned because of the gay sex scenes, the headline makes everyone believe otherwise.
It's a great way to get a story Dugg up; say something in the headline that reaffirms other people's fears or beliefs...even if the story has little to do with that, and you'll get a lot of Diggs. - Locastus, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1I cant hear the word 'teabagger' without thinking of someone furiously toggling the crouch button on Counterstrike.
- Fuzi, on 11/08/2009, -1/+2Weird they sure accept the ladyboys in thailand...
- DefaultGen, on 11/08/2009, -2/+3So this threatens the security of their nation? The gay population of Thailand that purchases movies didn't buy it to see soldiers detaining anyone. Now that you ban the movie, not only will thousands of not-gay people notice, but you'll also get tons of negative press AND more people will probably see the movie.
- inactive, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Keep checking Mininova
- EatingPie, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1In terms of politics, Bangkok looks bad. "Regions remain at political odds. And Muslim separatists continue a bombing and beheading campaign in Thailand’s deep south." And the film was banned for showing soldiers "detaining" and ultimately suffocating Muslims.
Looks like the gay sex is a metaphor for the conflict. If they Thai authorities were smart enough to see that metaphor (which is really unlikely!), then ban *is* about gay sex *and* politics, since they are ultimately one in the same.
-Pie - linagee, on 11/08/2009, -1/+2Of course you do, you were there.
- Gondring, on 11/08/2009, -2/+3Thailand?
- ianzu, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Thank you. That's what I was going for. Sorry you're being dugg down with me.
- linagee, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1video or it didn't happen
- charlietuna, on 11/08/2009, -7/+6This is obviously the work of Obama's fascist national socialism. They are suppressing good old fashioned GOP cocksucking,
Signed,
A teabagger - jv2k, on 11/08/2009, -3/+2I'm posting because I'm surprised this was on the front page.
Who cares? - newbill123, on 11/08/2009, -2/+1While I despise the whole "[something lame] is gay" label, your use here comes close to being humorously accurate: Thai political censorship is gay.
- borez, on 11/08/2009, -2/+1Well they might as well ban Bangkok to be honest.
- grungegbunny, on 11/08/2009, -3/+1What happens in Bangkok stays in Bangkok.
- ianzu, on 11/08/2009, -9/+6Censorship is gay.
- inactive, on 11/08/2009, -3/+0...what?.
