whilst i am against press cencorship i do think that they should be made accountable for this type of reporting which is clearly designed for sensationalism and not the reporting of the true facts.

This kind of cowboy faux-reportage is typical of diversionary tactics used by the media to bury a more important story, or hide a lack of one.
This surgeon, who we must emphasize had no dealings with the unfortunate lady in the report, could possibly lose his practice and livelihood because of this gung-ho "interview". I comment interview because really, it wasn't an interview. It was a sting.
All the other British surgeons knew the reporter was coming, they knew they were being filmed, and what the purpose of the programe was about. On the other hand, the Belgian "interview" was underhand, deceitful, and very obviously manipulated.
I am disgusted this corporation has the gall to make us pay for a license to fund this travesty.

William - bruceandrews, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Yeah, this sensationalist style of reporting is guilty of causing many innocents hardship, financial loss and devastating harm to their reputations. I believe they should be brought to account for these thoughtless reports.
BBC, a public apology is in order, with as much, if not more, emphasis on their own misdeed as they spent on maligning this innocent man.

Where are the patients that this has happened to and why have they not come forward with such allegations. Matthew Hill needs to come up with some better proof of this rather than some mis lead twisted interview he so call has made. Such allegations against someone that has offered and assisted so many with their problems is not good. This reporting is twisted and needs to show the truth and not some undercover attack on an individual bent on helping and not hurting.
In closing, I would like to see some kind of proof of these twisted allegations that Matthew Hill has made. Not just some twisted interview that he has changed the words around to come to and untruthful report.

I agree with you. The BBc were not very fair to the poor doctor concerned in the interview who actually had nothing to do with the case that was beeing investigated.
