- betrayed, on 04/09/2008, -5/+100NO IT WON'T
NO IT WON'T
LALALALALA - LackJudgement, on 04/09/2008, -1/+90They thought I was crazy for walking to work. I showed them.
I SHOWED THEM. - armyofbees, on 04/09/2008, -8/+78Mission Accomplished!
- mywhitenoise, on 04/09/2008, -6/+67I don't care.
Maybe this will spark people to finally dump their useless SUVs, in favor of a fuel efficient car. It really pisses me off when I see a tiny 20 - 30 year old chick driving a huge SUV with no other passengers, and nothing in the cargo. - LordMalok, on 04/09/2008, -1/+59As if the economy wasn't having enough problems. This will impact every person. It won't just be the people driving the giant SUVs. Even basic staples like milk & bread will go up due to increased fuel costs.
- Coug, on 04/09/2008, -1/+36Soon? Gas was $4 last time I bought it...
- FeartheKnighted, on 04/09/2008, -4/+36And that my friends, is why I ride a motorcycle. 70 mpg on the highway.
- 1337d00d, on 04/09/2008, -1/+29People not driving places to spend their money. How could that be bad?
- Satanael, on 04/09/2008, -3/+31Wow. Really? I thought there was a magical barrier that prevented numbers from progressing to 4. Do you think that gas might one day reach $5 after it hits $4?
- santiago1, on 04/09/2008, -9/+35 Let's see: let's compare your total land mass to ours. How much further we have to drive to get someplace.
More arrogant snobbery from non-Americans, indeed.... - carlosglz, on 04/09/2008, -2/+24Price of gas when Bush took office: around $1.35 a gallon...
Prices now: over $4 a gallon... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! - JenThomas, on 04/09/2008, -1/+23Uh, gas is ALREADY $4 where I live.
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -6/+26$4.04 in parts of San Diego...
There's no excuse for the outrageous profits being made by the oil companies in the midst of all this. - inactive, on 04/09/2008, -1/+21what? there's no shortage - our reserves are higher than ever - price isn't going up due to demand, we're clearly being defrauded.
- krewenki, on 04/09/2008, -3/+22$4 a gallon? Last time I filled up here (Nova Scotia), it cost me $1.18/L. That's nearly $4.50 a gallon. I was amazed at the price of gas when I drove through the north eastern US last summer, seems you folks have had it way cheaper than us for a good while.
- Nayson, on 04/09/2008, -2/+21Come to England, we have cheap fuel here!
- Paranoidmarvin, on 04/09/2008, -3/+21Still cheaper than the UK...
- Jade456, on 04/09/2008, -1/+18Just in time for high power bills too.
- alexbox, on 04/09/2008, -4/+21Exactly! People need to realize that WE are the ones who are wasting gas. You do not need an truck or an SUV unless its for business! Stop buying insane vehicles people!
- mywhitenoise, on 04/09/2008, -2/+18pretty drastic measure for an increase in gas prices. Here's a better idea, stop spending your money on stupid *****, like your daily Starbucks fix.
- cshaaban, on 04/09/2008, -1/+17So whats new?
- Jo9100, on 04/09/2008, -0/+16It's been what? 3 years since we crossed that price here in Quebec? Yes, it's awful...
- radarbeam, on 04/09/2008, -0/+15EVERYTHING from goods to services will see a price increase, not just bread and milk.
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -1/+16If you've been paying attention, you'll have noticed that all energy prices have surged. Then again, Mom & Dad are probably still paying the electric bill.
- OriginalReplica, on 04/09/2008, -1/+15"This will impact every person." Good. It needs to. Until people feel the real price of cultural oil addiction, it will never change. I don't want anyone to go hungry but I'm not about to shed any tears because people can't afford big screen TVs or new SUVs. The ONLY way American will ever gain energy independence is if oil prices force a change in our culture. That is important because the only way America will ever be free from Middle East politics is to be energy independent.
- kgibby, on 04/09/2008, -1/+15Could hit $4?
Its already ***** there. Its more of a discussion of WHEN it will hit $5. - gazzaDJ, on 04/09/2008, -0/+13You hear that beeping sound? Thats your sarcasm detector going into meltdown.
- harrypl0tter, on 04/09/2008, -4/+17Who the ***** cares....it's not like anyone here can do anything about the gas prices. If you can't afford it then make some changes in your lifestyle or ride your bike once in a while.
- radarbeam, on 04/09/2008, -1/+13You should care, even though you drive a fuel efficient car. Every consumer item will likely see a price increase, that means more money out of your pocket too.
- skyshock1, on 04/09/2008, -2/+14Sucks in the rain. Also, sucks when you need to carry things. Also sucks if you ever are involved in an accident.
- alexbox, on 04/09/2008, -2/+14Because her wasting gas does hurt us. We all pay the prices for 'fluffed' demand.
- ravage86, on 04/09/2008, -1/+132004: Gas could hit $2 - http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/20 ...
2007: Gas could hit $3 - http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/1221046/
And of course, a graph of the last 30 years: http://www.randomuseless.info/gasprice/gasprice.pn ...
What will tomorrow look like? Don't be surprised to see $6 soon. - cerealjynx, on 04/09/2008, -6/+17I know it's not a possible solution for everyone, but if you can, buy a bike. Pays for itself faster than anything, and it's good for you.
- Genshinx, on 04/09/2008, -1/+12Plan on getting one soon myself; seems the more economic thing to do. Plus if I die, think of all the waste I won't be producing!...
- ChanM, on 04/09/2008, -2/+13$5 a gallon at the end of summer
- radarbeam, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10Paid $2.99 in Georgia and parts of Florida last December. Ah these were good times....
- intangible, on 04/09/2008, -1/+11And 1 in 260 car occupants die in an accident, what's your point?
http://www.nsc.org/lrs/statinfo/odds.htm - Antialias, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10In 50% of the US you could get by with no AC without too much discomfort.
- kevdude421, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10Time for North Dakota to do something important!
- ghostlywind, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10I work at a Grocery store and when ethanol became big milk price went up to about 4 bucks a gallon can't wait to see the price of food now, soon the middle class won't be able to afford. We will have to go Soylent green style soon.
- Dylson, on 04/09/2008, -3/+13Have a cookie.
- slug007, on 04/09/2008, -2/+12Is it true Bush/Cheney get their bonus once it hits 4.50?
- robthom, on 04/09/2008, -2/+12It wont impact people with giant SUV's. They already have a disproportionate amount of the economy in their pockets. If they spent 20 dollars a gallon they'd just be reinvesting in their own holdings. Its the working class that will be unable to give themselves or their children a better life or ever retire.
- kelmaster1, on 04/09/2008, -1/+11I remember last January 2007 that gas prices hit $1.99 in Montana. It's now $3.50/gal. It raised a ***** $1.50 in 15 months, when i started driving it was $0.99 (that was only 8 years ago!) whereas the minimum wage has increased only $0.65 in the last 11 years and I'm pretty damn sure no ones wages have tripled in the last 8 years. There is a separation of wealth going on in the US and we the people are getting royally screwed.
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -0/+9That is the goofiest looking dinosaur I've ever seen drawn with ASCII.
- fatfonzie, on 04/09/2008, -0/+9$4.09 here in Santa Barbara
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -0/+9You must be an Icelander where 'Most People' get their power from geothermal.
Summer is coming up and that means higher power bills in the US where 'Most People' (who have power) live. - yetimonster, on 04/09/2008, -3/+12quoth dubya
- B3N3, on 04/09/2008, -2/+11So much for invading Iraq for oil...
