  • mozarker, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1Does this mean that USDA Secretary Vilsac will be promoting the use of Monsanto's GMO's in these countries? We all know what an absolute disaster occurred with their use in India with farmers committing suicide after a drought produced massive crop failures. The GMO's required heavy irrigation----something the farmers weren't told----in order to be successful.

    GMO's are toxic to human beings as proved in research with lab animals. About 90% of all corn, soybean and cotton products are already GMO. Try to avoid products made from/with these plants. Just another good reason to grow your own heirloom vegetables and use organic methods.
